Legal shooting time is 7:21am. I'll be in the woods prior to that but only two hours of "hunting". I could kill at probably 6:45am but that ain't gonna fly..........................................FYI, I have four houses within 1000' and one about 525' from me. Laser measured..............................

Thanksgiving was one I hunted quite a bit when I was in my teens and 20's. After I got married I pulled the plug on it as we usually have the dinner at our house and prep is a bummer................................grin. The few times I've gone in the past 20 years or so have been slow where I hunted. I did kill one buck in Arcade that I remember fondly. A 5pt about 15 years ago, it was a cool deal. Tomorrow I'm going for two hours, that's it. Out of the woods by 9:15 SHARP. I only have a 30 minute ride. Good luck to all and above all else, be safe.

Kind of like the guys that tell you they shot a 200lb buck, because their BIL said it HAD to be. Why should that bother you? Nothing wrong with being accurate, is there? If you take this stuff fairly serious, you'll take notice of weight and age of these animals and NOT guess. Jaw boards, accurate scales and resources take the guess work out of things as the OP stated he has done with his QDM book. I'd just like to know if the jaw told the 3.5yo tale or not. When you eventually walk up to one of these hogs, it will hit you. Promise........ When I shot my heaviest buck a couple years ago, I walked up to it after a short 70 yard blood trail and was absolutely in amazement. It was just stunning...........His legs were under him in a way that made him look even bigger! Hang on, I'll see if I can find a picture of 'Ol Fat Ass 217lbs a brute: Not my most flattering picture but that buck makes even ME look skinny........................................NOT.

I hope to hit it for a couple hours MAX. Need to get home and dress the bird etc. Big bash/good times!!

I think they are just trying to give credit to some of the nice big heavy doe that, IMO are a trophy in themselves. The contest as far as I know is strictly based on weight. You ever see a 150lb doe? THAT my friend BROW is a sight to see! I killed one that hit that magic mark about 10 years ago, she had a head like a horse. Gorgeous.............................................

You need to find the RIGHT dealer too!

Update.................stopped into Johnson's this afternoon, 6 deer in the contest so far; 3 buck & 3 doe. Unreal................................................................

I can't count the ones I've seen from the stand but certainly less than 25. I missed one by inches with the bow early in October, first and only one I have shot at with the bow. A number of years ago I had a pretty good morning In Lima NY while deer hunting. I shot a nice doe, gutted her and dragged her up to my side of the gully and climbed back up into the stand waiting on a buck. No buck showed but two 'yotes did in the next half hour........all with the T/C muzzleloader.

I wish they would start Monday Night Football earlier. I'm tired and this looks like an entertaining game. RGIII vs. Colin K. I like both of them. I could DVR it but sure as beans as soon as I get up I'll see the score before I start it plus I have a real early job. I guess I really DO have a whine tonight.
