  1. I don't think NYS can issue ANYMORE DMP's than they do now but I guess guys would have to shoot more doe if they were passing the little bucks up.
  2. The fuel bill would kill me.........................
  3. Where is there a co-op in WNY with 15-20,000 acres?
  4. That's fine but you're the one that said "My point is, passing on 1.5 year olds give you the chance to harvest bucks like this". That isn't the quality of buck this thread is about. The guy has hunted for twenty years and that is his first bow buck and biggest to date? That's cool as hell, congrats to him but that isn't what I'm referring to in THIS thread.
  5. I added all my information right up to the credit card price and it still didn't have any sales tax added?? I'm still waiting on a price from a good friend who works at a Ford dealership and can get me his quarterly family tire discount. You never know on these things..........!! I have checked Discount Tire, Tire Rack, Sam's Club and WalMart.com. They all make it difficult to compare apples/apples. TR has a great price on Kumho RV AT KL 78's in 245 75 16. I'm sure I can get a local yokel to mount them. Hell I haven't mounted a tire in almost 30 years but I'm sure I could do it and maybe even enjoy it!!
  6. Anybody used them, and if so: Do they collect NYS sale tax? How much did it cost for mount & balance at your local establishment? Thanks...................
  7. The eyes of a killer....................................
  8. You can't win big if you don't bet big..........................
  9. I thought you meant this was the same buck as the one in this post.......my bad. Congrats to your bro!!
  10. The property is hunted fairly hard but only the woods and field edges. NOBODY goes into the thick red brush and tangles, EVER. These guys don't fart around. They have some bucks in the record book, and some beauties that any of us would love to kill but they are few and far between, considering........... My biggest question is of tolerance. How well do these older (3.5+) bucks tolerate each other??
  11. Please don't take this the wrong way but that is (as you mentioned) nothing special. THAT, at 2.5 years old is the buck to let go!
  12. DO NOT SECOND GUESS YOUR CHOICE. YOU WILL LOVE THE RIFLE!!!!!
  13. It'll be much the same with the rifle. Luck to you...............................
  14. I have some guys I know in Ontario County that have been practicing AR's over a pretty big chunk of land (500+ acres) and after about 15 years of passing many, many immature bucks they are starting to wonder where all the older bucks are?? Each year they see a fair amount on cameras and in fields late in the summer during evenings and early mornings but when the season gets here they just aren't behind (!) every tree. These guys are the best deer hunters I know, they do kill some good bucks each year but what should really be seen are some 150+ and up bucks and they are almost non existent. My idea is that any given area can only tolerate just so many older 4.5 years old and up and they keep dispersing and rarely ever get killed because they are so nocturnal. If each year you keep passing all these 2.5 year old bucks you would think you'd be seeing 3.5, 4.5 and 5.5 year old bucks fairly often, and killing them!! Rambling words I know, your thoughts??
  15. I find it very difficult to stomach the fact that a land owner wouldn't let someone track a wounded animal. I've only had to do it once and was told yes, but only to track THAT deer.
  16. Who, me? The holes in my mask did provide access to a cigar or twelve.........................no more though. I'm 99% done with them. No chewing for me in the past 20+ years.

    Having some fun with grinding.............
  18. The deer can't read posted signs, know boundaries or have access to the DEC syllabus. The only thing I'd be thinking about is how many other guys know of your new spot?? Either way, HUNT!! Good luck........
  19. Is that me you're talking about?? I do the same type of thing quite often. I kill plenty but also rush the shot, always have. Last night I Googled "target panic" and came up with a Ted Nugent answer to the problem. I consider it target panic, do you??
  20. Shot my 243 last week just to confirm after I whacked the barrel on my work bench.............3/4" group @ 100yds, 1" high All good!. Barnes 80gr TTSX. I'll shoot my ML this week if I get a chance.
  21. You have "good blood" and didn't keep going? You'd put your tag on that buck?
  22. That won't bother the deer in the least. Shoot 'em up!
