32" Sony, Made in April 2005. Works perfect and includes remote of course. We just made the jump to HD TV and this needs to walk....... $50 & a 12pk of Bud Light takes it. Bring a helper because this baby ain't light! I'll leave it here for a couple days then it will go on Craigslist at a higher price.

A good friend and extremely (I thought!) smart guy just bulged and ruined his darn near new Krieger ML barrel a couple weeks ago. One load of very stiff smokless powder and TWO sabot-less Parker bullets equals KABOOM! Bulged + chicken chow mein barrel. It's an accident that could have turned out much worse and can happen to anybody. He learned a lesson and all will be fine when his new barrel is installed in a few weeks. Anybody want to buy a nice used Krieger? EDIT to add that that barrel is made to shoot sabot-less ML bullets but they are swaged. (I think that is the term)

Archery may not be for you as you appear to be awalking train wreck...........<grin>

Anybody see any bruins? I heard they killed a couple close to where I hunt in PA this past Saturday (opening day) and saw 4 others. Not too shabby.........

Gutting gloves are a great idea. I left mine in the truck.......... I've gutted well over a 100 deer without them and lived to see another day. Do you (growalot) think that the guys problem was really from dressing off the deer? I'm sure many, many 100's of thousands of game animals are dressed each year with no ill effects.

I already used my ML. Took it out on Saturday and took one shot, no need to reload. I haven't used a shotgun in a a bunch of years.

Seems like you mount everything you shoot. You (or your future partner) would certainly regret mounting too much stuff at some point. Even I get a bit tired of looking at the mounts in my family room. I know my wife does......... 3 deer, a pronghorn, a couple coyote pelts, elk horns, and some woodies. Oh, and a couple European mounts of deer. Too much..........

I always have mixed feelings when archery ends. I love bow hunting and if I had to make a choice (like Colorado) it would be easy but I also love gun, any gun! Like WNYBuckHunter, I enjoy the late season quite a bit. I put all my effort into bow and take it very seriously. Gun is just a good time to spend with friends & family. When I get some more time, I'll post up a picture and a story about a REAL problem I had last Friday morning while getting ready to end my bow season. Wow, you won't believe it..................

Honestly, I know guys that are starting to take a tube of Crest and a old toothbrush in the woods and take care of that before they get tripped up by Johnny Law. You are so stoned Biz.........I certainly hope the DEC has better things to do than check the teeth for corn. Maybe they will test the piss/blood for steroids? If that deer had high blood pressure they'd hit ya for a salt block?

The challenge will go unchallenged because no law exists in that regard.

Atta boy Bubba! Good move......

He might score 100" but I doubt it.

Could be some cool things on the video but I bet it is mostly crows. Congrats and looking forward to the mount pics.

I have a couple, my Ithaca Model 87 DS II (jeez I think that is what it is called. only owned it since '88!) that I killed a couple truck loads of deer with and a Model 37 12ga that is probaly from the mid 60's I'd guess. I haven't killed with the DS II in quite a few years as the ML has replaced it and hopefully the CF rifle will replace the ML next year. Come on lawmakers.....................

Funny thing, I'll bet that plenty of guys had NO idea WTF "sunrise or sunset" times were or that there even was something official setting it. They would just figure when the could see it must be sunrise?? Anybody wanna take that bet?? Ever since the last thread about it guys are just starting to notice. Funny deal.........

Hell no, pound away! I'm waiting on a range report...........Congrats on the no bang stick. Pics or it didn't happen. <grin>

It'll be just fine laying on the ground as long as its not a piece o crap scope.

Good luck and hunt safe to all. Sounds like the weather will be just fine, hopefully all tags get punched that need punching. Pics or it didn't happen...............

8N for the most of the season but 8H for the tail end and some of the late season. 9H (Arcade & East Aurora) now & then........

This is like asking "what rifle should I buy". Good luck with the quest!!

Don't over think this Doc as there aren't many bad choices these days. Your choices are as follows:243, 260, 7mm-08, 308, 270, 280 or 30-06. Sounds like the 270 is what your going to end up with. Remington 700 would be easy to find. Grab a $250 Leupold used from the web and some Talley Lightweights and your ready to rock. Are you opposed to buying a used gun off the 'net? If not, I'll keep my eyes peeled for a winner. Merry Christmas!!

Seems like a good time to post up a couple pics. I posted this a few weeks ago but I don't remember a law against a repost. <grin> This bullet is from a 243 (6mm) that I used to kill a doe at (what I laser measured again in ML season this past October) 236 yards in PA. She was HEAD ON. I punched it right into her chest at a very slight angle. She did a back flip and was done. I'd say about 40" of penetration. 80 grain Barnes TTSX. Recovered in a roast I was slicing up for a stew early this fall. I looked at the time of the kill & butchering and couldn't find it. Well, it spent the last 10 months in my freezer tucked inside this roast. Cool deal....... Hey Doc..........no deer walking is too big for the 243.

A Brush Buster? Say it ain't so!!

Plenty to digest in this gem............

The reason you see it on the Outdoor Channel is they pay millions to advertise it, just like they did with their muzzle loaders. They'll put those rifles in any yahoo's hands that will take them and make a crappy show at the same time.
