lol? 30 yards, straight on? You could have at least pulled the arrow out before the picture.....

Congrats? BTDT and know the shiiiiiity feeling. I'll bet he'll be just fine. (other than hurting like a SOB for a bit!!) Somebody else will crack him and then we can see what he looks like............<grin>

As you have mentioned, you have to let the guy try and correct his mistake. No need to mention any names.

Good luck guys, hang some pics for us.

I'm in this camp also. If you have the blades available, get yourself a pair of Swarovski or Leica binos. Personally I like 8x30 or 8x32. DON'T get 10x for hunting in NYS or east of the Mississippi. You can grab either of these two brands for right around $700 used quite often. (Lifetime warranty of course) You'll NEVER regret this purchase and you will use your binos WAY more than any gun. As far as the guns in question (after you buy the binos) as Dinsdale has said black guns suck (joking) and I also know nothing about them and have no interest...... He does have good advice on the scattergun and rifles though. DON'T buy a 300WSM, 7mm Mag, 300Win Mag etc. Get yourself a Remington 700 in a s/a chambering like 260Rem, 7mm-08 or 308Win. I'd even slum a 25-06, 270, 280 or God forbid a 30-06 before any Magnum anymore. You'll shoot and enjoy a mild recoiling sensible chambering much more and you certainly don't need anymore than those mentioned, anyplace in the lower 48 anyway. Skip the Jewell, buy your wife some earrings. Good luck and keep us in the loop.......!!

How long do you leave your powder and bullet in the gun
Lawdwaz replied to mark3885's topic in Muzzleloaders
I use electrical tape on all my deer guns when hunting. -
He is probably thinking turkey hunting or just has no clue. Pretty simple deal....... Get a IC and rock on.

Congrats guys!! Well done.

What gun are you shooting an extra full in with steel? I'm not sure about my 20ga Benelli but in my 12 SBE it is NOT recommended for steel shot in full or improved modified. Only mod, IC & cyl.
-
On the safe side, bring your own and bring a couple spare cases.....<grin>
-
Why? You don't use it because it's better. Do you work for Kent?
-
Steel shot sucks. Does it kill, yup. Sure, once you figure it out you'll kill with it and the newest stuff is much better (wads, hulls etc.) than the original products.
-
I used IC and 2 3/4" #5 Kent and some real old #4 Bismuth. I think the #2's and the mod choke are your issues?? Oh yea, steel shot sucks!!
-
Yea, so I missed with the first shot. The next two killed this pair out of a flock of 50-60 this morning in the pea soup fog. Saw some ducks but they were out of range. The dog did good, she's only handled a handful of geese over the years and these were no problem. Good times.....

Welcome aboard. Nice buck you took. Any better pics of the freaky one?

So, for the last 24 hours I've been looking for a SD card that has over 450 family, work etc. pictures on it. I THOUGHT I put it in a catch all area in the Toyota p/u yesterday afternoon. Well I got home last night and went to grab it out of the truck and it's gone! I checked my coat, shirt pockets, pants, shave kit, duffle bag, glove box etc. untill I gave up I know I checked those pants pockets twice, maybe three times. I had two pairs of jeans and a pair of camo pants that got a bit bloody yesterday morning so figured I'd get all that stuff plus some other darks done. After a cold water wash and 50 minutes in tumbling hell, out pops that damned SD card that was MIA. I just popped it in the camera & computer and all is still intact. Thanks for the good product, SanDisk.

I accept. I've been known to be a douche bag once or MAYBE twice also. I won't say I'll never do it again, but if I do, I'll take a wrap on the knuckles from the management.

BEEEEEEEEPPPPPPP, wrong answer.......... 2012-13 Waterfowl Seasons Shooting Hours: one-half hour before sunrise to sunset. Non-toxic Shot: Required Season Zones: Most waterfowl seasons are set based on five waterfowl hunting zones that have been approved by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. NOTE: (1) The following hunting season dates have been finalized. Be sure to check all regulations before going hunting; and (2) You must register with HIP to hunt any of these species. I wish it was a half hour after, you should see the ducks pile in then!!! No dice though.

Yes, she did have a large head. Body size was not huge, that's for sure. She was a 1.5 year old I'm figuring. No milk, so no chilin'. I was hoping some little ones would stroll in but no luck. <grin> (I do tend to make them look little though with my over sized frame. I've been told I'm just short (really) for my height. I should be 7'13") <grin>
