I'll hit 'em tonight. My wife & I went out with 4 other couples for dinner & DRINKS last night. Any locals ever go to Ali Opps @ Genesee & Harris Hill? Fine BBQ! Figured the deer would smell the Sam Adams October Fest on my breath and BBQ sauce on my fingers and decided so sleep in. Should be some successful hunt reports from this morning as it sure looks like another good sunrise!

125gr Nosler in a factory load? Ballistic Tips? -
I saw 6, 5 slick tops and a half a 4pt. All inside of 30 yards but no shooting opps. Great day to be alive.

Good luck! I should be heading down to Canadice but I'm going to hunt East Aurora this morning. Took the dog for a walk already and it does look like a winner, so far!! Watch out for all those CRAZY waterfowl hunters today........................................................ Stack 'em like cord wood guys.

Dinsdale.....Are those Woodleigh's available on our side of the World? I haven't seen them at Dick's? I'll hit Gander Mountain & WalMart today and see if they have any. I bet they would be great out of my .243 for buckin' the brush. Do you think they would be better than Core lokt's? TIA, Larry -

Three words to simplify this above.................................................................. Placement, placement & placement!! -
I shoot a Bowtech Guardian now but will be in the market for a left over Elite Hunter after the season is over. Many great choices in bows these days. Pretty difficult to make a bad move!

Many bow shops to choose from here in WNY: Niagara Outdoors, Bison, Doc's, Nick's, Little Ridge etc. I'm sure there are others I forgot also. Hit all of them, see who has the best selection and start fondling 'em. I've dealt with all of the above shops in one way or another and all are very competent. Inventory selection will be the key.

I'd be stuffin' my Sako 375HNH with some 300gr Partitions and sneeki' in! -
You guys are really disappointing me...............................<grin> $9.99 flowers from Danny and dinner at Olive Garden. (Oh yea, I have a $25 gift card for the dinner) Believe me, I've passed over lots of these in the past and don't blame you for NOT doing it. In my case, the next 2 1/2 months are MINE for the most part so this is a good time to drop a dime. As always, YMMV. Have a good day!

I know today is a big day guys, but don't forget your sweet heart! Today, October 15th, is Sweetest Day. Keep your very significant other happy......... Good luck!

Just a little FYI for those interested, two weeks ago I went down to my buddies in Arcade to enlist a bit of help. I have been curious about the strength of my safety lines/knots/caribiners etc. Well, between Tom and I we THOUGHT we had 250lbs of logging chain between us. We laid out a hunk of strap that is sewed into a loop. We then draped all the chain over the top of the strap and passed one end through the other and hooked a caribiner to it. We used his tractor with a bucket to lift me about 12' into a pine tree and I hooked up my 6-7year old safety line. With the Prusik knot about a foot from the top, he then hoisted me back up with all the chain in the bucket and I proceeded to hook onto the Prusik. Then, with the tractor backed away from the tree a bit, he dumped and I pushed the load out rather quickly to somewhat simulate my fat azz heading to China. Well, it all worked great except that after getting back to his barn and reweighing the load we came up about 60lbs SHORT of the 250lb target, only 190lbs. Man......now I need to do it again. In a few weeks, I'll be at another friends farm and he said we could redo it but this time we will use 3 of his 100lb tractor weights. NOW that will really put my mind at ease. I plan on taking pictures of this little go-round and I'll post them up for your viewing enjoyment.

Lots of great ideas on this thread already. I'd worry a lot more about the two legged scumbags than a bear any day. Stick a lightweight 38 S&W in your pocket or on your ankle and fear nothing.

Want to start reloading, don't know where to start
Lawdwaz replied to jimbo91's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
Seems like some great DVDs or videos should be available for learning the great hobby of reloading. Read all you can on it then grab a video or two, buy a RCBS starter kit and rule the world..................... -
Nice photos. If I had tags for all 4 I'd kill all 4.

Ventilate him......................

So, what's he making? I'm guessing he won't use a safety belt either? Rusty dull broadheads? Probably hasn't practiced yet this year? I'll bet he has a Scent Lok suit and a Butt Out Tool.
-
Remember, I don't know how much his arrow weighed or the length. I shot the bow and it was smooooth. I'd guess the draw length at 27, 27.5 or maybe 28. The Elie is the GT500.

Those will work...................................Good luck!!

One Thing I Don't Want Around My Stand!!
Lawdwaz replied to Cabin Fever's topic in Trail Camera Pictures
Wow...... I wouldn't sweat it too much as far as odor and spooking deer. People put too much emphasis on this IMO. Guys have been small game hunting, hanging stands, cutting wood etc. all day then hunting the same area and killing deer for years. The deer don't just vacate the area until the coast is clear.......................... On a different note, I never understood the attraction to those guns. Why the phuck would you ever want to be running around shooting at people with a gun of any kind? Hell, I don't even like kids running around with toy guns. YMMV. -
Some individual pins/buttons are very rare and collectable. You can sell/snag on EBay all you want!

Looks good! What poundage & arrow weight are you running? I took my chronograph over to a guys house who just got a Z7. He was wondering how fast it was. Clocked it at 247fps. MY BT Guardian went out at 250fps and another guy was shooting 289fps with his Elite. I'm not sure of the other guys arrow weights but mine go 418 grains. Good luck!!
