If I was hunting him, on that farm towards the end of the season, he gets a ride in a Toyota. My friend (the landowner) would pass for the entire season. His son in law would grease him ASAP!!

I am very fortunate. In addition to that, I have 130 in Naples that my uncle owns, 250 in Arcade that another VERY good friend owns and a tiny little pie shaped 7 acre piece in East Aurora that is only hunt able at the very back of the property and the area I can hunt is really only about 300'x500'. The EA piece is difficult to hunt and I get busted quite a bit with the wind. If I could go another 30 yards to the east, the deer I'd kill would blow your mind, no guff. <grin> EA score.....................

Are you on a trail? If not, you might as well move it to one or move it to a known "yearly" scrape. Good luck!

The location of that camera is on a farm that I can't bow hunt, only later in the gun season can I hunt it. The owner is one of my best buds and those are his wishes. That only leaves me with about 600 OTHER acres to hunt of his 800. Bummer? I set the camera there for his and my enjoyment. Just trying to keep him interested I get so many coyote pictures at that spot you wouldn't believe it. Lots of smaller bucks also along with fox, rabbits and squirrels.

I love the details! Looks like a real smorgasbord of shooting iron. FF gets it done with the tried and true! Did you guys wear Scent Lock Suits? How about Human scent killers? LOL, GRIN, Slippery boards on the way to the crapper, THAT could get sporty!

Sounds like quite an adventure. I wouldn't have thought it would be that long of a drive, hell it ain't like going to Czechoslovakia or anything. (saw Stripes the other night and that was one of the many, many great lines!....................... Oh, never mind) Glassing from the tower had to be very cool along with the helo ride. Sounds like a trip I'd love to make someday. What did your friend use for a gun/caliber? What did you use for boots? Temperatures? Any pics of FF's bull or the strippers??

A bear DID munch on my Scoutguard. No real damage although it does show signs of teeth and yanking on it. Deer have smooched it also, just never damaged it. Limburger................>>>----------->

I'm starting to get excited about getting into one after the season. Your fueling the fire.......!! Springwater? Is the Tackle Shack still around? I used to go their back in the early 70's as a little shaver, sniffing all the cool stuff. Gosh, what a memory. My father had a year round home in Canadice, on Lawrence Hill Rd. I still have friends on the road, dad sold it in 1983. We used to fish the creek in Springwater then head over to the Red & White market for the Breakfast of Champions, chocolate donuts AND chocolate milk! Fond memories.

The 25-06 would give a kid (or an adult) absolutely no gain over a 243 for deer in NYS. Keep it simple and go kill deer.

I do it once in a while. If the wind is never right when I need a spot, it ain't happening.

If it'll hold two, I'll pack up my stuff and head east. (Head East, twasn't them dudes a group <grin>) Looks like a humdinger of stand!!

I noticed.......I've been sweeping up leaves from my Maple tree for a month due to some black tar spot disease that is making the leaves drop FAST! Other than that, I've seen your every day leaves dropping quite a bit also. The faster the better!
