I have an idea............................why not just have the lifetime license holders pick them up in person at an issuing agent? Heck, you need to apply/pick up your antlerless tags in person anyway. Why bother stuffing the big envelope and paying postage on it? Probably save NYS tens of thousands of $$. Just send me the bonus check for the idea. TIA

Is the State hand delivering our Lifetime licenses because of the lack of cash for postage? Anybody get there's yet?
-
I guess I'm still optimistic it will happen. Frustrating how this has been handled. Can't imagine the circle jerk that must go on when it's important, like a friggin budget. Really disgusting.

Any updates on this issue?

173 is the heaviest I've killed (dressed of course) in NY or PA. We weigh most deer that we SUSPECT are 2.5 years of age an older. Very interesting to see the results.

Hoax.......................

Lucky if they break 50 lbs. from what I've heard.

You live on a battleship? I think Doc was referring to the door frame in your house, not part of the safe. (I think )
-
Heck, there are deer in the Adirondack Mountains? <grin>

I'm on my 3rd compound in 35 years. Started with recurves, bought a Darton SL 50 in the late 70's, went back to traditional stuff for 10 years. Bought another Darton (Maverick) in '99 and shot that until buying my current Bowtech Guardian after the hunting season in 2007. Couldn't be happier with it.

NO WAY! I don't think it's been that long. If so, they sure didn't advertise it much!
-
It'd be a bummer if he broke that big spike off. Nice.......

Great shots. Did you get lots of pics of crows and such? I would think they would fill your card PDQ?
-
So the CDS II is the latest version? Smaller, stronger diameter line? Can it be had for less than the $199 shown at Cabela's? Just curious. I think I have some points built up I could burn on this worthy acquisition. I love safety...............
-
Anybody have one of those CDS systems? Looks like a no brainer for a guy that likes living.

Even if you had an exact harvest number you still only have an estimate of the live deer population. Would an exact number of harvested deer really change much of the management?
-
I agree. Anybody have a better idea?

Summit makes a great stand. Had a couple but tripped them and got a Treewalker. Used it last year and really like it. http://www.treewalkertreestands.com/

Cut those big dudes up and pack them out in pieces! Really amazing country. Sounds like (as I haven't seen pics yet!) your hard work has paid off. Good job. -
Yup!!!! That's the one. I knew it was a Jan....something. That thing has paid for itself a long time ago. I know a lot of people head for the pro-shop to have every wounded vane replaced. Or like Fitzy said they just keep shooting them that way. I don't have to do any of that. I just fix them myself. Doc IIRC it's called a Jo Jan. Close, but no cigar ;D I've been using a Bitzenburger for 20+ years I bought from a archery shop on 15A in Hemlock when he was going out of business. My buddy and I went and bought a few hundred barred feathers, misc. other feathers and we snagged a bunch of the Bitzenburger jigs for a song! Wish we would have bought all of them.

When I was shooting traditional archery equipment I dipped and crested all my wooden shafts. When I switched back to a compound and Easton ACC shafts I found that it was best not to dip/crest the shafts because I was forever re-fletching the shafts that got monkeyed up. No way could I keep doing it and have it still look good. I have a friend who is an artist (his art work has graced the cover of many sporting magazines including Traditional Bowhunter and NYB's Full Draw) and does a magnificent job cresting his arrows!

That's pretty cool. Have any pics of your bucks? I've done some spring turkey hunting in the Park in the past, always on the west side. Big azz country!! -

Antler restrictions in Letchworth? Didn't know that, how long has that been going? -
So the Lapua brass goes in the 308? I use Lapua 308 brass in my 7-08 (necked down of course) and I have a box for the 223 but haven't fire formed it yet for the 223 Ackley. Nice stuff!!
