What? Are you saying you can hunt dove on Sunday?
-
Think of the money you saved! Looks like an XP 100 R is in order, that or a T/C Contender/Encore or a Savage Striker. So much safer than a rifle. Idiots. Go Paladino.

Nice..........

I'd bet you .50 cents that he breaks that horn off rubbing trees!

+1 Works for me also.

NULA 209. Shooting smokeless powder. Scoped with a Leupold VX III 2.5x8 in Talley mounts. I also have a T/C hawken flintlock but no pics handy for it.

I have two, a RH 22-250 heavy barrel (Gracia Import) and a LH 375 H&H Deluxe (Stoeger Import) They are great guns! The 22-250 had been my woodchuck gun until a couple years ago. Now using a 223 AI. The 375H&H is destined to go to Africa, someday, hopefully with me. Although I've never handled a newer one, I can highly recommend the older ones.

All I need is the FFF powder. Haven't shot the gun in a few years, a 50cal. T/C Hawken flintlock. I'd welcome it in early October although it would be quite a challenge with all the foliage. The past couple years I've gone to PA for the early antlerless deer season. We camp out and have had a great time. Oh, any muzzle loader is legit also. Such a nice time of the year..........................

I don't remember the last time I gutted a bird anyway. Breast 'em and pull the thigh meat.

PM me the locations. ;D

Pretty impressive lineup of Pro staffers. ??? Gander Mountain will have racks and racks of them along with plenty of coolers and some 264Win Mag ammo. I wonder if there open yet? I'm on my way................

I have to wonder if this is a personal thing for Ms. Singer. Is she REALLY getting pressured from that many concerned citizens or is just a few connected individuals? Or is it just her own fear of the rifle? Is this the first time this "weighted" vote has ever been questioned? Comical to say the least.

I went on Friday. Thought it opened at noon, didn't realize it opened at 3. We went and had lunch in town and came back around 1:30 and snooped around a bit. Many of the vendors still weren't set up though. Probably went 7-8 times in the last 15 years or so. Must have gone on Saturday in past years. Oh well. The skunk scent is still fresh in my mind.........!!

Hey Doc- I don't know you from the Man on the Moon but if they pass that rifle bill on the Thursday afternoon before gun season opens you can borrow a Remington 722 in 257 Bob. Sighted in and ready to rock,Doc!

My Lifetime license arrived today and I got the two DMP tags I wanted. All is well.

You will get more use and enjoyment from quality binoculars than from any gun/scope combo. $100 does not buy quality binoculars.

This is the only usable shot I got of the bear that chewed on my camera. A few of the others looked like the inside of his mouth. Luckily he didn't ruin it completely.

At first I thought it was a typo when I saw it in the NY Outdoor News but the above link confirms there numbers. First come first served would be too easy for NYS.
-
Funny thing, 8N shows the reduced number of permits but on the DEC site they also show a high percentage for residents to get both of there permits in 8N. Strange, last year they had twice as many permits and I only got one. http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/30409.html

Sure would be nice if it was legal. I've hunted them in Pennsylvania before and had a blast. No reason not to hunt them here and the DEC is not against it. I read that they would have no problem with it but few people have shown an interest in it here. Lots of fun to hunt and better eating than those damned geese! Who do I talk to about it?

If you have a Lifetime License, your already in the system and don't need your license in hand to get you DMP tags. Get your sleeping bag and get in line!

Plenty of time in case of a FUBAR :'(

I've had one out almost three weeks now. Hopefully I'll get a chance to pull the card in another two weeks or so. (unless BooBoo ate it) Anticipation...................

What is your preference for Scope Rings
Lawdwaz replied to fasteddie's topic in Rifle and Gun Hunting
Talley light weights rule the roost right now for me. I have multiple Leupold, Sako, Burris and one set of Conetrol rings and bases that all are in use also. -
I don't have one and if I did I'd sell it! Seriously, they are cool rifles and they must have been an engineering marvel at the time of manufacture. I remember an older guy that we hunted PA with every year that used one. I would always chuckle to myself at the "old timer" with a gun I would never carry. Well, every time a buck went by him, it got a free ride out of the woods. Never missed with the Model 99. I believe it was a .308 but can't be sure. Another friend of mine just went crazy a few months ago and bought 7 or 8 Model 99's from a local seller and online. He went bonkers for them!!
