  1. Wasn’t there a gin mill called Frenchy’s in Wolcottsburg years ago?!?!?!?
  2. In the western end of the state Niagara County is getting walloped right now. Devastating damage said the news people……..
  3. I remember that bad flood you had……7-8 years ago??
  4. Good deal…..I’ve shot a bunch of deer with that bullet. That 80gr slug punches way over expectations that others may have.
  5. Got a chance to shoot the test loads yesterday down in Canadice. Combined the day trip (my wife was along too) to include a trail camera card pull and add new batteries, visit with my buddy, shoot the rifle and a pretty good dinner at the Village Tavern in Geneseo on the way home. I shot the rifle off the bench using my Hart rifle rest and leather bag at 100 yards. Things were going well after 3 shots so I decided (you can argue 3 shot or 5 shot groups all day for testing loads) to plunk in two more rounds after letting the barrel cool for a few minutes.........resulting in a tiny group that opened up to a whopping 1" group!! I was thrilled and will finish up loading the remaining prepped cases with the 43gr RL15 and the 120gr bullets.
  6. Bored out of my gourd today. Too much rain, wind and gray skies cost me money............. Early this morning I ordered a RCBS kinetic bullet puller to replace one I broke 4-5 years ago. After lunch I went to the mall with the Mrs. looking for some sporty shorts for me. Turns out Omar the tent maker has left town, leaving me stuck at Macy's. Got one pair there then came home and ordered 3 more from Dickies online. After supper I shot some arrows in the basement and counted up my stock; 8 finished arrows ready to go. Decided that won't cut it as the Academy Opening Day is looming and that place EATS arrows. Ordered a dozen shafts, nocks and inserts. I (and my bank account) hope the sun shines tomorrow.
  7. Lots available at decent prices. I think my latest is North Face (it was on sale for $75 IIRC) and it's very lightweight but certainly not rugged. I'd shred it in a morning of hunting but for running around town getting beer and cigarettes, it is the bomb.
  8. I just saw a bunch of this on the 24hourcampfire.com classifieds.........run like the wind, don't delay!!
  9. Rain is just about over here. 3.34” at the airport and I’m close enough (as the crow flies) to say that’s what we got.
  10. All this rain is taxing your sump pump if you have one. Maybe you don’t have one……lucky you?!?! Keep an eye on things down in your basement for the next day or two if you’re getting the rain we are. Wet basements are no fun…..
  11. What a great offering, maybe some folks on here can partake?
  12. To be honest, when I pull the trigger on the first loaded round THAT will answer your question. Last night when I decided "tonight's the night" I was kind of nervous. I kept some OK notes and records so felt comfortable after getting everything out and on the bench. I have a cheat sheet of the basic moves in the order I've used over the years. After work today I charged 5 cases for the initial test loads, all 43 grains making for a pretty mild load, as seen above for RL15. I've used 44gr of RL15 in the TSX but it's been years. Everything should be peachy.....
  13. Wow…..that’d be neat to see or do I bet. Zero experience with heavy artillery for me.
  14. Last year I grabbed two boxes of Barnes 120gr .284 TTSX for my beloved 7mm-08. It's been quite awhile since I loaded anything for this gun due to how well it's shot the 120gr Nosler BT bullets. I've shot Barnes X, TSX and TTSX out of a few guns (currently just my 243 with 80gr TTSX) and always had success and great performance from all versions. So due to life getting in the way the past few years I haven't pulled the handle on the press on any brass till tonight. I only prepped 14 pieces of brass and will load them up tomorrow night and then hit the range to check my numbers. Then I'll load up enough to cover me for a few years. I kinda missed it!
  15. Not me. Used to go back in the early 90’s and sure had fun. Camped for two nights each time and spent my hard earned money on gear.
  16. I killed a couple with PRB out of my flintlock many years ago in Pennsylvania. I think I killed one in NY too?? Can’t remember all of them…… I was going to use the combination again last year during the late season but if I recall correctly the weather or work didn’t cooperate. Maybe this year?
  17. You can believe whatever you want. Why not take a ride down to your regional DEC office and have a biologist take a look at it? I’m sure they’d love to look at it.
  18. Sometimes you can get the Amish folks to lend a hand. They could care less about permits. Heck, they might even work alongside a building inspector and not even know it!!
  19. Building Inspectors play an important role in keeping people and homes safe. Also, they keep neighbors happy and neighborhoods from looking like ass. They have a difficult enough job then their friends want them to look the other way……..or worse yet, help with the illegal job at hand. Terrible situation…..
  20. If not FF, maybe one of them has LB on it.............yikes. And yet, interesting find. How old is the barn in your estimation Greg?
  21. Or just maybe its a healthy, low stressed 2.5 year old?
