One inch float, 3 inches of clothing, big problem when u need to take a leak. Sorry to detail ur thread.

My wife says it's the biggest she's had, for some reason I'm not buying it.

Interesting, I wouldn't imagine BB would do that well in the lower pH. I tried biologic once on a good soil and wasn't impressed. I've always had great success with WI.

What was your soil pH?

Thanks Larry, it's really filling in good. It looks likes it belongs there and has been there. It's amazing the difference since the end of july. Glad I left a few hemlocks and some others standing to give it a little character. And heck the deer seem to be enjoying the heck out of it as much as I am!!

Awesome to see some baseball happening, we passed on fall ball this yr to lesson the burden of football and baseball at the same time, now that he's out of football I wish we signed him up. His travel team for next yr starts training / practice next month!

Got another look at the plot while working on stands and mock scrapes. Plots doing well, I'm very happy with it. I have one pic with 11 deer in it, the most yet. No stud bucks yet

What Seed Spreader do you use
Zag replied to UpStateRedNeck's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
I use a tow behind spreader for lime, some applications may require 1500 tons, hand spreading would kill ya. Spreading seed I prefer hand held as it's easy to see if you need to adjust as you go. -
Thanks for all your input, I think we made a good choice although sad not to see him out there going forward as he was a big part of the team. Here's a couple pics of his last td Sunday.

Equip your .22 with a scope, sight that sucker in to hit dimes at 40 yrds, that way it I'll never know what happened. :-)

Thanks Jerry!! I'm pretty good, computer, tv and phones give me a little headache still so I'm trying to limit screen time.

Ugh it's been a tough day, he's been up and down today and my wife and plan on shutting him down from playing anymore this yr and probably going forward for a few yrs. Sucks it has been alot of fun being the offensive coordinator with him by my side. He's been crying a ton tonight when we told him that he might not play again and he's struggling with why does this have to happen to me. Here's a few pics from the first game.

Any you guys make up most of my current friends list:-)

No I'm all ears and appreciate everyone's opinion, this all helps towards a decision and doctors of course. I know what the doctors going to say so I'm trying to prepare for him not going back out. Seeing how good of an athlete he is will make it a tough reality.
-
Yeah we model USA football program teaching heads up tackling and it's drills we hold each practice, today he was at qb when he got tackled by a few defenders. Last yr he was part of a tackle where someone came flying in to help.

A more advanced helmet is something I'll look into tomorrow and a last resort I think.
-
Scholarship is the end game but he's only 11 so we're yrs away from really knowing if he has a shot for one. He is a strong athlete in each sport that he plays.
-
Thanks Larry, it's definitely not fun seeing my kid sleeping on the couch right now. At this point I think we're leaning towards hanging it up for now and focus more on baseball, or maybe spend a small fortune on a more advanced helmet and a last resort.

It's been a bad few days. I got a concussion from my tree stand fall and my son got his 2nd concussion at football today, last year he received his first concussion. I'm not sure what to do at this point, last yr my thoughts were...he might never get another one and keep going, now after #2 I feel like that should be my answer but I also feel like it could become an endless cycle. He's a really good athlete, he plays qb, te and outside lb, so he's almost always around the football. I hate to succumb to concussion but I'm not feeling to good about continuing the same path. Hope I'm making some sense here. Any advice would be appreciated!

Ashes help for sure, our plot was I think 5.4 or 5.6 and your's is looking real good. I'd bet you're isn't far off from normal pH. Keep is posted on the progress!

Sounds like we're in the exact same boat just different hill sides. Plots looking good, did you do a soil test? If so how'd the pH look. Our pH was pretty low and will take a bit of time to bring it to health. Our brassicas (not a large amount seeded) is much smaller in size.
-
Looking darn good I think, I'm glad I planted what I planted. pH was low and our forrester suggested brassicas but I wasn't convinced. Had my first hard horned buck too this week.
