  1. lmao! he's just a cub. not sure his berries dropped yet lol. don't give a flying f*ck. if that bear goes after my kids or me he's dead asf. what kind of man would stand there with a gun and allow his child to be mauled by a bear because he's afraid of being fined by the DEC? which wouldn't happen btw.
  2. so you honestly think there is a pocket of poison gas down there still and his dogs will now die? Come on...
  3. it's not apples to apples. but they frequent my camp a lot. and we have a gun on hip or in camp. wouldn't hesitate to shoot one if threatened. in the case of the op... he's addressing it first. broad daylight 8/16.
  4. red squirrel is year round. grey is not. they're getting into your attic, but not living there... do you call the dec to ask for permission to take them out or do you trap/shoot them?
  5. i'm with you regarding laws. I draw the line when people start throwing out the term "immoral"... and honestly I think we're just imagining a den of "pups" and we get all "fox and the hound" feels deep down inside. We've had this discussion many times. What's legal isn't always ethical. And what's illegal can be ethical. I think we all agree with this.
  6. that wasn't my comment at all. I was addressing your nonsense claim about him having poison just lying around his property that would kill his dogs. You've gone through the time of looking up old user threads? geez man. why so serious?
  7. can't remember if you have kids. i can relate as i have a 1, 3 and 5 year old. putting some clothes out and then "assuming" they're gone is not the same as "knowing" they're gone. I bet many of you support the death penalty. Why? Because you're guaranteed that bastard will never rape a little girl ever again. No. Matter. What.
  8. i've trapped all sort of critters from coons to opossums and shoot squirrels that mess up my bird feeder. so sue me. whats the difference between coyotes and putting out poison for moles, mice etc. Where do we draw the line?
  9. He put in a very low concentration gas which dissipates within seconds and no ground den would be capable of containing any pocket of. he didn't dump liquid into the ground water or pellets. so stop.
  10. you don't normally say much? lol. yall are acting like he's killing a white rhino. Lest you forget this is an invasive animal. One that is ok to kill in February but unethical and immoral to kill in April? lol.
  11. i see where you're coming from. But i don't agree that there is ZERO difference. 1. most states have open yote seasons all year long. 2. killing a yote anytime a year doesn't feed anyone. Killing a deer out of season may be going to feed a poor family. 3. It's my opinion that all animals aren't equal. Killing a deer because it's a pest to your shrubs is not the same as killing a yote because it's a threat to your kids or domestic animals (which includes those with chicken coops).
  12. if your trail camera isn't equipped with gps/cell, you can't pull that data. ip trace and what not, very easy though. I'd be surprised if the dec had that kind of time and resources on their hands.
  13. we've done it a few times over 30 years. initially it messes up your stands. patterns change and stuff. especially if they leave the tops, which some loggers only after the expensive stuff will do. We've had loggers screw us this way and leave a lot of good firewood behind. highly recommend the owner gets this in writing. On the plus side, the tops will make good cover for critters. but in 3 to 5 years it'll let in a lot of light and new growth which is great for hunting, but again may require new stand locations. the other con is you might lose some good roosting trees if you're after turkeys too. overall though it's a positive. especially when man now controls natures way of replenishing herself (forest fires).
  14. i keep having that same discussion with my anti-gun friends. If any of these nuts were smart they'd by an autoloader 12 gauge with buck shot. I'm glad none of them are smart.
  15. saw something on usa today about younger voters not showing up to the polls in recent elections despite the belief that they would "change the world". These same voters will keep buying on amazon and wont give 2 sh!ts about the stunt. But I know many of us hunters now refuse to shop there. In summary, they've isolated a pretty loyal customer base and most likely will not attract any new business as a result of their move. The only possible benefit is future risk mitigation where a shooter buys a gun from dicks and then people "boycott" them. Otherwise this just doesn't make good business sense. As an aside, if you have a citi credit card you can participate in their pricechecker program. buy anywhere and if they find a lower price you get the difference. Recently saw some hs strut decoys on sale at dicks and am sticking to my guns. Bought from midway which was the next cheapest. Submitted to pricechecker and i received the credit for the dicks pricing. i win. they lose. https://www.citipricerewind.com/
  16. i think there is already a compromise. You get the last 2 weeks of the best hunting there is in NY. And once you get full inclusion, you'll want the airbow. Because it propels an arrow without the use of gunpowder. And of course we want the most effective and easy to use method for reducing deer numbers... killing bb's isn't enough...
  17. it's not courage brother. It's boredom. I rarely if ever post on the weekends. I have sh!t to do in my life. Apparently you do not. If I felt like we were having an intelligent reasonable discussion (as i have with other pro crossbow members) I'd engage you more. You're just a little out there for me. You seem to claim victory solely based on a poll. Meanwhile the president of the NYCC won't answer a simple question and many of the pro-crossbow folks are turning their nose up at the "elitist bowhunters", when in fact your latest round of bills has failed. You can believe what you want, but for now, the season wont change regardless of how many pages this goes. And at this point, there is a better chance that papist embraces Islam than some of the more entrenched members changing their views solely as a result of this thread and your nonsensical ramblings.
  18. what crack has the lord and savior jesus christ provided you with that you think the range is comparable?
  19. ha. i couldn't read the last 2 pages. As usual, the thread has lost its fun.
  20. better yet is to use a card like citi double cash. then pay it off every month. You'll get 2% off everything. It adds up quick.
  21. I don't have an issue doing lime. And I have a pH soil probe. For what it's worth, i've done clover plots with success, but tilled and did a lot of work. Not sure I want to do that this time around.
  22. so just buy oats at a store like country max and throw it around after raking the soil? where would you get this stuff?
