the run n gun part of turkey on any sort of shared land can be super frustrating. if more deer hunters were stalkers you'd have a thousand more stories like this too. On top of that, i think turkey hunters are the worst trespassers, and i'm not sure why, other than people don't seem to be as possessive over their birds as they are with deer. That and turkey's will let you know where they are. haha.
-
and how many of those 5% target them because they believe it will improve their turkey and deer populations by doing so?

hunting originates from our primal need to feed ourselves. Inherently most of us were taught not to kill without need, and food is a need for all of us. As far as antlers and furs, I believe they also date to the caveman era, and were more commonly used as a means of attracting mates. Like look at the size of these horns, I can kill big beast for you and kids, now bend over In 2018, those horns have been replaced by houses and cars. In the end it's all the same.

Just to clarify, I'm not talking about killing bucks. Any deer, big or small.

To kill any legal deer or spring turkey?

tag out in 2 days? I think i would be dissapointed lol. Nice job and way to stay in that late!

there's a guy on here and i dont want to get it wrong... want to say stubby that is adamant he doesn't feel a thing and doesn't care what deer he shoots. There's also wolc who wants to shoot bb's. But generally I agree that they're most likely full of it.

some hunt for the love of the outdoors. I haven't killed a turkey in 4 years and still go at it, because i just love being in the woods. Too often FSW, you imagine we all think and do the same. We're all different. I saw less than 8 deer in 2 years in MS public land. Killed 2. Still loved it and still hunted. I would venture to guess that the first doe I shot was harder to kill than any deer I've ever killed.
-
i don't hunt anything i can't eat. So i agree with this. Otherwise it's simply killing for sport. Heck even in africa they eat the meat of what they kill. It's probably why I never got the motivation to yote hunt. But I'm still a horn hunter. If that makes sense.

wow we haven't this discussion before either it's not a simple solution for me. Ultimately I hunt to enjoy the outdoors. I guess first and foremost I like to have meat in the freezer, which means eventually I'll shoot a doe or even a smaller buck to do so. I wont eat tag soup. But my ultimate goal is to shoot a nice buck. There are different levels of importance and value in both. This past year I shot a small 4 point with my bow and then put a wounded doe down with my mz. I have meat in the freezer and feel good about that, but I don't look back on last year as a success. I believe a good many of us who aren't squarely on one side or the other fall into a similar bucket.

Lots of good action so far. Managed to clown hunt my way in late and noisy. (Shocking). Saw a total of about 8 birds and lots of gobbles. 2 jakes came in to about 30 and peered over a log at my deeks. Kinda had a shot but not one I’d take. And the real hen drew them away. About to get up and move, but so far a good morning and sure as hell beats work! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Guess I didn’t realize you and I had a problem. Maybe be a little more transparent when you think someone is a db instead of just keeping your mouth shut and then dropping it on them out of nowhere. Now I know I can avoid you. Cheers. Dick. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

thee who was 20 something and not made a dumb ass decision throw the first stone. no, speed. When a group of stupid teens pulls up to you in a 98 monte carlo and wants to stoplight race you in your 400hp pontiac... you should ignore them. Even when they call you chicken shit and then talk shit about your fiance in the passenger seat. luckily I knew a guy -
Can we go crossbow fishing?
