  1. Nobody, and I repeat nobody can say what they want without repercussions. Ratings for the grammys and oscars are down. Ratings for the NFL are down. CNN's ratings are down. Kathy Griffith lost her new years eve gig. Curt Shilling lost his. People exercising their rights and marching in alt ride parades have lost their jobs. Many on this very forum have screamed to the rooftops that your 1st amendment right is freedom from persecution, but not from consequences. So guess what, you can say whatever you want and not go to jail. Doesn't mean you keep your job or that your customers have to keep coming back. Just like O'Riley lost his gig when advertisers begin leaving, fox news has every right to boot Laura. Money talks. Sorry if this is news to you. this is rich from you. A guy who has boasted that he hasn't watched sports in decades. So sorry, you're not paying anyone. And what you don't understand, because you refuse to see things through another's view is how the african american community views someone like Lebron. Extremely successful, powerful and a voice for those of them without his platform. I'd like to think that many of us, if given a larger platform might use it to promote hunting. He uses his to voice his displeasure with politics. Roseann Bar has used her to support trump and faced criticism from the left just the same. Yet nobody here is bitching about that are they?
  2. i don't believe it's impossible. But I also don't think a guy without any history of violence will be CONVICTED of domestic abuse without some history and possible evidence. I understand as men the odds are against us, but I do believe the horror picture you paint is generally "bubba in the trailer" who may be innocent that one time, but is not saint either. And again, if you're with a crazy bitch long enough... well. Here's your sign. ps. my kids are where it hurts the most. I like my guns... but come on.
  3. so a perfectly healthy marriage is one phone call away from gun confiscation? if your marriage isn't healthy, you have bigger problems then guns.
  4. *sigh* and I thought we already agreed to disagree on where the 2nd amendment landed on that matter? Like God created man and just assumed everyone would know "said man can own a gun"?
  5. how is it a message if no person ever carried such a sign?
  6. it's honestly sad. And this is coming from a conservative second amendment supporter. I have friends i unfollowed on facebook because I just cant stand it anymore. They just see something they like and share. It might be some fake story about dead rats found in ragu bottles from 2 years ago or some fake conspiracy. All it takes is a little research and you'd realize it was fake. It's just so freaking sad and you're so desperate to find something that supports your belief that you post a fake picture of the Gonzales girl tearing up the constitution. Like do you even realize how ignorant you look?
  7. her "shut up and dribble" comment doesn't help her much either.
  8. why'd you change your confederate flag avatar?
  9. that is one of the worst photoshops i've ever seen. come on man.
  10. um... how is that a bad thing? Beat your wife, lose your right. Be a gentleman and keep your gun in hand.
  11. we were discussing "natural rights", not rights granted to citizens of the united states.
  12. both appear to still be in committee https://www.nysenate.gov/legislation/bills/2017/a479/amendment/a https://www.nysenate.gov/legislation/bills/2017/S1386
  13. only thing I find on the budget website is the 14-15 bill
  14. i'm not sure a firearm for self defense is part of that. But we can agree to disagree.
  15. you and I are on the same side, but I wouldn't go as far as saying "natural right". Natural rights are more like food, clothing, shelter, pursuit of happiness.
  16. my interpretation of that is that we can still and should regulate firearms. That the second amendment isn't just a free for-all. And current state we do have restrictions ie the safe act, pistol and cc permits etc. I know not everyone agrees with me, but I'd like to close private sale loopholes, increase background checks and put some more rigor around the system. What I strongly dislike is bans on ammunition, types of firearms and magazines. And I believe if we don't do more for former, we will continue to see more of the later.
  17. those of us lucky to have the close calls and sobering experiencing should be the biggest advocates for safety. We were the lucky ones.
  18. Is that because they're sick of rescuing people? seems odd to require someone to hire someone else to use public lands.
  19. sort of a personal question, but if i remember right you're missing a hand. Any mods needed to use the brake or throttle?
  20. bitter sweet congrats nomad and of course thank you for everything you've done and the countless people you've helped. When my pops retired about 5 years ago from Kodak it was tough, but you quickly fill your time with hobbies and outdoor related adventures!
  21. have had quite a few debates on the old social media with my anti-gun friends lately. I thought it was pretty well understood and agreed upon what the second amendment meant. You have every right to believe it needs to be repealed, but debating what it actually means has been long since put to bed. But I've seen this pop up a few times now and it just furthers my belief that people will go to the Nth degree to try and get their way. After all the arguments including facts and case studies, Scotland, Australia, suicides blah blah blah eventually someone pulls out the "that's not what the second amendment means" card and I'm just like... well. I'm done here. lol.
  22. had an accident a few years ago. doing something similar. except the end closer to the tree fell first. hit my chainsaw out of my hand and then fell and hit my wife who was holding the ladder. Knocked her straight to the ground and was one of the scariest few seconds of my life. She ended up with a trip to the ER but just a badly bruised andkle and good rash and scar on her arm. never again. I have a pole saw now. problem is for really high branches or anything thick. If it's anything over 3" or so up high I will call someone.
  23. the scary part is that the author is a retired justice and constitutional lawyer. He's also 97 for what it's worth. So basically the elderly and the youth want our guns lol.
