this would be a good snickers commercial

variables have been tough. weather a big factor, but for me they also didn't plant corn. So early season is extra challenging. Bucks are rutting now and the action has picked up. Unfortunately most of us lost Sunday and that leaves just 2 weeks and one weekend. I could have shot some doe so I'm not ungrateful, but usually a lot better action by now.

probably a low percentage with this crowd haha

Had a snort weezing fighting monster and another shooter the other day completely ignore me. Then a skipper last night do the same. Dad thinks I should be more aggressive. Idk... sometime I think they’re like hened up toms. Nothing gonna move them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

A little bummed I didn’t go out this afternoon as they called for downpours in 8f. But it was just a little warm and windy is all. But I wash washing clothes and putting the lawnmower away. Dang though on a non Bills Sunday I shoulda been in the woods Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I’m simple lol. 20g protein power bar. I don’t wanna snack in the stand and get busted by noise, movement or not able to grab my bow. But I need fuel so water and a bar does the trick Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Other than 1.5 and 2.5 I really don’t get how some of you are so confident with aging. Not to be salty, I think we should stick with “mature”. Lol Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Can’t imagine ever being so ballsy and rude to hunt someone else’s stand. That really sucks. Can you setup cams to catch them? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Interesting to hear all the accounts of running into other hunters on xbow opener [emoji848] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Just had an incredible experience with a monster buck and another nice shooter. Grunting, fighting and my first experienced snort wheeze. Too bad they were 60 yards out in some brush... right under the stand we put there for that very reason. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

There are 2 pairs of cardinals hanging around me. I like to think that maybe they’re swingers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

i still don't think you're comprehending what I'm saying. I'm stating what the average and even an above average hunter considers his/her max. Not considering western hunters, olympians and tournament champions. But the 40 hour a week family man who shoots his bow in his backyard.

For a long time I've only hunted with a nikon 10x25 pair of binos. they're entry level and don't weigh much but they fog easy and I've never felt they were powerful enough. Almost all but 2 deer stands dont require binos at all and my eyes are good. I mostly use them when I hunt fields for turkey in the spring, but they are always in my pack. so anyhow, i buy this pair of vortex 12x50 binos on sale for $130 unsight unseen. I get them in the mail yesterday and wow the weight difference. They are undoubtedly a nice optic, but I can't imagine carrying them in the pack. At $130 I'm not sure I have to return them as I'm sure they'll have a use, but on the otherhand they're $130 haha. so question is this. What size optics do you bring in the deer and turkey woods with you? https://www.opticsplanet.com/nikon-realtree-road-trips-wide-angle-10x25-binoculars-8204.html https://www.opticsplanet.com/vortex-crossfire-12x50-binocular.html

the southern states have no age limit. I can't say i'm very thrilled to see a 6 year old with a rifle on a bipod shooting out of an elevated house at a field of deer, but I like the fact that kids are accompanied by responsible adults and as far as I know there's never been an issue. The right 10 year old with a .240 is perfectly safe and acceptable to me and better than the wrong 24 year old with a 30-06.

Even if I backed off 60 and went down to 50 for a crossbow, that's still a good advantage vs the average max range of 30-35 for the compound. obviously they will be hunting MY deer and that bothers me. Geez, you act like you're new to this.

i'm off monday and waiting as well to decide if i can move my day. problem is my calendar is full with "can't miss" shit most all next week.

pops is getting older and the carts just dont cut it if he's on his own. Bought the rancher this past spring and this is the first time we've bloddied it. Says he still has to figure out the best way to keep the deer secure so his rack and legs dont catch on things and throw him off. wouldn't it be a nice problem to have? Worrying about your bucks rack catching on things? lol.
