Should only be 1 deer if it isn't. Not against the youth hunt but I think it sets up unrealistic expectations. You only need 1 to be "hooked".

First year I hunted this small piece of property I got hardly anything on cams. I learned their patterns better and cut some good trails and moved the cams. Big mounter bucks the next year. Sometimes your cams are just in the wrong spot or you have to do a little more prep. Don't give up. Saw a 120 class 9 a few days ago that we have no pics of.

Sometimes passion comes out wrong. I can understand; the love of deer and deer hunting runs real deep in me and my family. Sometimes my father and uncles have been hard on me and my cousins when it comes to practice and prep. They've all lost deer and know how it feels. They've seen deer suffer and know how it feels to watch. Men especially have to be careful that our passion doesn't push so hard as to ruin relationships or turn young hunters off. Jumped a deer on the way in this am. Nice deer sneaking through early but way out of range. 3 doe playing a field out of range all morning. Blew at something but it wasn't me as I was downwind. Jumped same big doe on the way out. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I have a 32 nalgene too. To bulky and too heavy if full. Really only need like 10oz. Ha I do the same.

I don't know man, this was a lone wolf like howl followed by a roar of yips and barks. My father said he saw a huge yote that morning and I'm sure that was the alpha that night. Had to be at least 4 or 5. Not scared of a single yote, but a pack is different.

Human pee early on works great.

Walked out with my knifein hand. Saw 2 yotes after getting down in the dark after all that howling and yipping. I don't care who you are, that shit made the hair on my neck stand up good. Makes me wonder if I had a deer down and they were on it what I would have done.
