but again, you were able to find 4 people to vouch for your character, 3 being LEOs. I don't see what your argument is with the character references. I have a guy I work with who is an NRA instructor. We know eachother, but not outside work. He said he would only sign my permit if we spent some time out of work and some time shooting together. I thought that was a great attitude to have and if everyone had it, perhaps less irresponsible people would have handguns -

very true. Just like Erie will rarely give you a CC and has been challenged in court with no success. -
I'm not sure I get it. I dont eat the shells. Everyone eats eggs. Very few restaurants serve groundhog. Again, I'm not hating. It's only an opinion.

sorry. wouldn't.

i've seen them out and active already. I'm hoping it does push it back though as it seems nys is always late to the prime time with their 5/1 date.

Sorry... calling this a plain stupid ignorant statement, led me to insinuate you didn't blieve people should have 4 character references. 1. I am in the process right now. I agree that someone new to the area may have difficulty. I had trouble when I was in Erie, because I had just moved there and they wanted 4 from the same town, not the county. 2. If you have your permit, then you just proved your argument invalid as you were still obviously able to find 4. And yes they cant be related or LEOs. 3. I am not telling you that you cannot own a gun, I am saying that you need references to CC. I think it's fair. And why all the outrage now for a law thats been in affect for some time now? I haven't seen a thread on hear with outrage for the character references requirement. Should we not require fingerprints either? I make a statement and you all freak out. please see first quote. I'd rearrange this but the new software doesn't allow me to move quotes around. -
i dont know about plenty... but it's my opinion. you all can eat them all you want.

I hope to do what I can to preserve for my son and possible future grandchildren. All to often we dismiss issues because they're not hear and now and will not affect us. We have past generations to thank for our polluted lakes and streams and horrible debt ridden govt. I'd like to hope we can be envied and praised for leaving the next generation a better world to live in and not the opposite.

yuck. they're a rodent. no thanks.

fwiw, Never believe everything you read on facebook. The law is not in affect yet and currently undergoing revisions. but, all that aside, something similar in the future would surprise me.

you dont have to pal around to know 4 people you work with or at least a few friends who can reference your character. Good luck getting a job as they require 4 references as well. but hey, if you think people without any character references should be able to carry a handgun, then that's fine. It's the law right now anyhow and has been for a while. Mind you I'm not applying this to buying a shotgun, just a CC. -

Gthphtm, what do you use for spray? -
why we hunt deer in the woods . ( thought this was cute)
Five Seasons replied to cynthiafu's topic in General Chit Chat
ha that's classic. I've seen some pretty scary videos of deer attacks. The biting does surprise me too. And if this IS real, I don't see what would be gained by keeping it in a pen vs just leaving some food out and shooting it... -

yeah all i have done so far is remove the suckers around the base and trim the dead wood and sealed the wounds. As far as spraying, I would only spray my younger trees that I plan to eat myself. It's funny to want to attract the deer to some and not to others. -

europe is also about the size of the midwest and densely populated mass transit. there are few areas where there is thousands of acres to hunt. http://goeurope.about.com/od/europeanmaps/l/bl-country-size-comparison-map.htm -

you did not just site osha laws. what you can do in the workplace, and what you do on your own are separate. If OSHA laws applied at home, you couldn't even hunt in your ladder stnand without a 5 point harness tied off to a beam tested and approved by a PE to hold 5k pounds. But what do I know? I dont' have my CSP or anything. Anyhow, OSHA just states you must reduce the noise level belo 90dBA. All you need to do is put on some good muffs and you're fine. -

thats how I feel as well. Although I like the 4 references required for a cc permit as well. if you don't know non family members who will vouch for you, you might be some reclusive nut. and Doc, gun only for me. Ammo background checks are a waste of everyones time and money -
I saw this. While it doesn't ban 10 round mags but still limits us to 7, it will help with still being able to buy a gun. I think this also ultimately backfires against cumos campaign as it shows he rushed something through, then in typical democrat fashion he flip-floppped. glad to see the house dems vote down the assault weapon ban and mag restrictions too

Site Suggestions & Comments

I don't understand the post edit timer. This is the only site I've ever seen it. Is there a reason? I wanted to remove a linked picture once and couldn't and had to remove it from the hosted site. Also sometimes you write something in the heat of moment, come back later and realized it was too much. -

it's like talking to a stone wall. Some of you are so entrenched in your views you never see the forest through the trees. This kind of thinking keeps happening in congress too and nothing ever gets done because either side is "scared" and never willing to compromise. the dems didn't uphold the ban in congress anyhow. -

that's some great info. I've been reading a ton from places like the Cornell cooperative extension. The wet soil makes me wonder a little. Where I'm trying to revive some older trees it's really wet right now, but not too bad in the summer. I will be looking to plant 4-5 various trees this fall and your advice is appreciated. Right now i have some overgrown non-fruit producers that I've cut down quite a bit and cleared surrounding cover to let in more light. Not sure if they will come back, but I got to play with my chainsaw. I also have some 5 year old trees bearing good fruit. I've been pruning but worried about pruning too much. For the later, I'm interested in spraying habbits for bugs and disease. I keep hearing different things and I'd like to keep these for human consumption and the other trees for the deer. Of the 8 or so mature trees, 2 still bear fruit, but a good 10' in the air so the deer it the drops and I dont have interest in spraying. -
correct, but they struggle with property that is large, or purchased a long time ago.

while a little more expensive then what you're looking for, a single cam matthews is a good reliable bow without the maintenance needs/tuning of some competitors.
