i don't see how it wasn't a victory.... it wasn't an end all be all. But it certainly was a win for the good guys. Your "new bill" is very vague mentioning crossbows for some areas of the state? and needs plenty of additional steps still.
-
instead you'll get your news from wacko right wing websites? I'm republican and I'll say it's still no better than getting your news from wacko left wing websites. You don't need a license to write on the net. With a paper you can at least assume they've done a little research before they publish a story. usually... astonishing! now someone is trying to make a buck off it too? I'm sure they have only your best interests in mind.

which one of the 6 she posts each day?

was thinking the same thing. "blah, blah, blah a law is a law you can't shoot yotes out of season they're no different than deer, blah blah, blah" and then in another thread. "i'm going to keep my mag loaded with 10 bullets, I'm not registering my AR, you can pry my gun from my cold dead hands blah, blah, blah"
-
I don't recall calling you anything or insinuating you did anything. The topic is on the tv show "chasing tail" in which I commented the hunter who leaves cig butts in a tree enriches the stereotype of a redneck hunter. I also only claimed that someone who did this wouldn't be allowed in my stands. I never said they should be banned from hunting or that they were a bad human being. For what it's worth, when I think of how hunting began in north america it was done for food, a right of passage and to hone ones skills as a warrior. It was an act of skill, stealth, camo and scent control. I understand that this is not how hunting is in our current era and I may be in the minority on a board that's so pro xbow but I know i'm not alone and when I really think about hunting this is what I picture: not this

If you see nothing wrong with smoking in your stand that's fine. I realize everyone isn't as serious about hunting as others, but you'd sure as hell never hunt one of my stands and leave butts in the tree. Playing the wind is fine but I've killed plenty of deer upwind with good movement and sent control. I know I'm not alone. Enjoy cancer and decreased odds.
-
such a bold statement. are you employed by the dec? how much money?
-
no reason to stop just yet.

If you're smoking in your stand, I dont look upon you with envy and consider you a determined surgical hunter. I classify you in the pumpkin shotgun crowd that's more interested in "deer camp" then actually hunting. Wanna fight about it? i was pretty sure I saw the z7 logo. Could be wrong.
-
agreed. but i have guys in my camp like that too. it's sad but reality. Also, not sure if everyone caught it, but they ran a blurb across the bottom that stated in their part of CT you have to take 3 doe before you earn your buck tag. Great idea in my opinion.
-
i did notice that at least 2 of them were shooting fully loaded new Z7s but to yours and others point, it was nice not to be inundated with Under Armor, red neck blinds, Code Blue and Savage firearms etc. during the show and the commercials.

watched both episodes over the weekend. I wasn't very entertained. I think they did a decent enough job avoiding the redneck stereotype while also capturing it (the smoking hunters). I just didn't find it very entertaining. The characters (especially the over the top act from California which is purely for ratings) just weren't that interesting. I don't think the show damaged or helped hunters so far. But I did chuckle everytime they mentioned "controlling lime disease" as a need to hunt suburban deer.

the guy is a product sponsor. hasn't been back. me thinks some of you are new to the interwebs

oh so do I! I'm just not a fan of the trend of the country singers all getting into it.
-
even if it was NY, and I'm not saying it's right or wrong. But it's an f'n coyote.
-
I guess I prefer more of the Aldean and Church songs about the outdoors, woman and patriotisim. All of Luke's other albums were like that as well. I guess I didn't realize so many country fans vacationed in cancun...

last of my order came in for trees

buying trees online seems weird to me. glad it all worked out. -
Big luke bryan fan, but his newest album is a little too jimmy buffett for me. I'm not sure what the push is for these guys like zac brown and kenny chesney to change their style up.

I don't know. There are some very moral people on this board that feel every post may be critiqued and read by a young child and those of us who say it "doesn't really matter" that this coyote was killed are doing them a disservice. I'm assuming these same people who are upset about it teach boyscout shooting camps, volunteer their time teaching hunter safety and what not so it's ok for them to feel how they do.

it is certainly different when it's in your home. I don't "hate" snakes, i simply hate when they startle me by not moving until i'm almost on top of them.

my thoughts as well

I work on a street sort of downtown but near highland park. This morning a fellow hunter runs in to my office and says "look outside" i fear some security issue but i turn to see a big tom strutting down the road. We get deer in the back quite often, but this guy had gone out of his way to cross the parking lot and reach the road. Bright red head too. i'll probably never get that close in the woods haha.
