  1. how many of the males on this forum just wizz off the stand or next to your ground blind? How many pee in a bottle or something? And do your habits change depending on what you're hunting and in the case of deer (bow or gun)?
  2. lol. with that logic, we should all pay cash, or just flush it down the drain and rent. When you're first starting out a 30 year mortgage isn't so bad. Most people can't even afford the 20% dp. However, as your income levels rise, pay off the loan quicker. Nothing prevents you from paying off a 30 year mortgage in 15 years. Your rate might not be as great, but @ 3.75, it's not all that bad. But if you sign up for a 15 year and cant pay it off you lose your home. There's a big difference in a mid 20 year old couple and a couple in their late 30's. If we stay in our home (second we've owned now) we fully intend to increase our payments as our income rises. We already pay an additional amount a month to equal an annual extra monthly payment. But most people dont stay in a home for 30 years anymore and dont forget your interest is tax deductible.
  3. best feature of my vest is the but and back pad so for that reason I dont think I could give her up. and the blaze orange straps for carrying the bird. Mine is mesh though so it's not hot. Got it on sale at gander a few years ago for $40. Originally $75 I think? Don't recall the make. awesome pic btw
  4. so true. Mostly it's the coffee leaving that becomes my issue with cup 2. Stinky stuff
  5. one of the best. Spooky at dawn and dusk and scary when the owls fly into your face though.
  6. this state sucks. The property taxes in most other states are nowhere near what we pay. And the higher your taxes are, the more your monthly payment is. A simple formula for a 30 year mortgage. Every $100 is 30k in mortgage. Thats a lot of home. Now divide your taxes by 12 and you'll be amazed. The benefit though I suppose is that the cost of housing due to some of the ruralness of part of the state isn't so bad.
  7. It's a sad world when poor spelling and grammar is considered down to earth. And early, the troll bit is for my fan club.
  8. have them everywhere behind my dads. they serve as good markers if you get turned around. but its funny to see where they are now. like in the middle of a forest that you know was once probably a pasture. We have an old abandoned christmas tree farm as well. Supposedly planted by the boyscouts long ago. Now its a creepy place as there are rows and rows of huge pines just smack dad in the middle of the hardwoods.
  9. My camp in the Daks is right where they were searching for Sarah Anne Wood's body a while ago. They had it all roped off and stuff. I hear they might resume the search this year.
  10. this is the one thing we can all probably agree upon. have a good day ladies and gentleman, I have meetings for the rest of mine
  11. I dont know the answer. It just goes to further prove that nothing is 100% fact, and until we do away with hunting regulations there will always be some gray areas.
  12. I made one post about reality tv and didn't direct it at anyone in particular, but rather our society... so I'm not sure what are you talking about. I'm opinionated. If you keep feeding the troll, he will continue to post. Stop feeding him and he will go away.
  13. i think my bushnell does better if the sun happens to be shinning into it. But that can be fixed by putting it in the right spot. I think the spypoint has overall better quality of pics.
  14. socially, i think people are more accepting and there's less "hunters are bad and cruel towards animals". I think we have the pink slime, slaughterhouse documentaries and KFC "chicken" scandal to thank. There is and always will be anti-hunters, most of them Vegans and that's fine. As long as we outnumber them I agree that hunting shows and social media have warped our sense of a successful hunt. Young or new hunters should be thrilled with a nice doe, especially with a bow. Yet we see 8 year olds shooting 130 class bucks off bipods in heated treeforts on TV and our sense of reality becomes warped. I too worry about the obligations, especially in my own life. But hunting for me is the one thing I can do to escape it all. I will always make time even if it means sacrificing other hobbies. It's not so much the kill for me, it's the time in the woods alone. I'm looking forward to my son being old enough to take fishing. 2 birds with 1 stone. Father son bonding and a hobby. I look even more forward to him being old enough to drag out my buck.
  15. but I thought it was nobodies business what I use to hunt? Why can't I use the airgun? It doesn't affect you right? I don't know anyone who shoots over 40 with a scope on their compound, I'm sure there is, but that's a stretch. And while yes you do need to draw a crossbow, it can stay drawn, or you can buy an xbow that draws for you... I'm not even entertaining that
  16. I'm not sure why you took that personal. I wasn't directing it to anyone in particular.
  17. same here. good bang for your buck camera. I have 3 in the woods.
  18. same here, and I'm glad. 32 and 56... wow!
  19. well done. helps remove the stereotype of the rural white gun toter.
  20. i think that's your best use for it. Especially if you already have the other equipment.
  21. Oh I understand, but if you watch both videos. What is really sooo different? both do not require drawing, both have scopes and triggers, both are quite and neither use an explosive propellent. Let me ask you this, for arguments sakes. crossbows become legal, and its determined this gun has the same reach as compound or crossbow. Then someone wanted these to be included in the archery season; would you be in favor or opposed?
  22. But he was a scientist, not a politician, lobbyist, teacher. He wrote with numbers and not with words. I know what you're getting at and I agree and that's why I said that ones grammar or spelling doesn't change my opinion of them. However, we "debate" a lot on here. And when I read a post laced with typos and misspellings it detracts from the message that person is trying to convey and comes across as uneducated... fair or not. Do you think your grammar and spelling would improve if you read a book instead of watching American Idol or Jersey Shore? "Yo Dawg...." - Randy Jackson
