that's still illegal. you're not allowed to disturb a hunter and ignorance with controlling a dog is no excuse.
-
agreed. it's certainly not a huge deal, but you most likely pay a mortgage and certainty tax on the land. Looks like a .22 and most likely after yotes or squirrels, but he's in some serious camo and if shows up again during deer season than you have every right to be pissed. I doubt those poking fun now would be as cool headed if the guy poached a nice buck from them. I'd print his picture on a piece of paper. With some wording that says (I'm watching you) or something. laminate it and post it in the general area. haha. creating a paper trail and history is very smart. It can be used later if you catch him. That's why in other situations filing police reports are good even when you think they'll be useless.

Wayne County Pistol Permit
Five Seasons replied to Five Seasons's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
that's a good idea. thanks for the advice. -
The day of the school shooting I called the Sheriff's office to schedule my photo and fingerprinting. They were already backed up, I'm assuming from the election. On 2/15 I finally got in and completed the first step. The officer thinks I should expect a waiting period of 6 months. Figured I'd use this post to help mark my progress for those also in my position. I plan to have purchased a pistol and have all my reference within 2 weeks at the latest. I'm wondering how the magazine change will affect this. The Act does not yet go into affect so if I purchase a firearm with a 10 round mag today; in 6 months will I still be able to pick it up? I'd hate to have a single shot pistol because the manufacturer does not yet sell a 7 round mag... Anyhow, Under reason for permit I'm planning on putting "Unrestricted - for defense of family and self" I have no reason to be denied, but I'd like this to go through smooth. Any thoughts?

does the chick magnet area have a salon and day spa? -
Cost of Corn Plot???
Five Seasons replied to TheMiz54's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
corn is the worst crop you can grow for your soil haha. so good points. Remember too that a lot of farmers are subsidized. You're not going to get any subsidies for your plot so factor that into your decision. -
You mean a feature that converts your shotgun to an assault weapon?

alternate between soy and corn like everyone else and you'll be fine. -
Cost of Corn Plot???
Five Seasons replied to TheMiz54's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
a lot of times they wont cut the animal feed corn till real late in the season. Even then it attracts the deer for scrap. The one negative thing about corn though is that it provides excellent shelter so they may also end up hiding out in there too. -
Cost of Corn Plot???

see if someone will lease and harvest it for you. win/win unless you're actually looking to eat 7 acres of corn. -
should we storm the capital? all we can do is let them know their actions wont let them be reelected and then stand that ground come election time. Those in office right now are already in. And if you think NY will ever swing the other way on gun control you're living a sad sheltered life. You need to realize we're in the minority in this state. Most polled agreed with the new laws. Our only fight is at the federal level.

Thinking of getting into food plotting?
Five Seasons replied to G-Man's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
I have a tiller attachment on my weed trimmer. It's not for the large job but if you utilize a good rain and soft ground early in the spring it gets the job done. I was thinking of doing a small patch this year but also have an ambitious overgrown mature apple tree restoration project in mind so i'm not sure i'll get to it. http://www.lowes.com...ct_avg_rating|1 http://www.lowes.com...ct_avg_rating|1 the brushcutter does a good job too http://www.lowes.com...ct_avg_rating|1 i think you really only the heavy duty stuff if the manual labor is too much for you or you're clearing and taking out bushes, trees and what not. -
They certainly fall into a special category. It's just not that one. haha! btw, we just derailed another thread

VIDEO: Windy Winter Bow Hunt In The Snow
Five Seasons replied to TheFieldArcher's topic in Deer Hunting
I guess that depends on when you believe life began. So if you kill her before she was pregnant, you're limiting future deer from her so lets say that kill equals 2 dead deer. Killing her while pregnant equals 2 dead deer as well. Fair enough. I never said I was against what you're doing. I just know I'd have trouble gutting a deer with a partially developed fetus inside her. I am also a hunter that would never shoot a doe with fawns. I've seen others do it and it saddens me. I know I'm not alone. I know deer are animals and not humans and I dont mean to start an argument. Just how I feel. Generally seasons are scheduled around breeding/birth for most animals so hunting in February seems odd to me. -
i heard you resigned this morning. Was it the gun laws? I guess I missed the anti-hunter crap...

this kind of bothers me. She could be decently pregnant at this point. -
been a lot of these great impassioned speeches. it doesn't matter though. those we elected have agendas and they will see to it that they're met.
-
i agree. hevi's are great. you get what you pay for.

i have a stuck rear caliper. was going to do it this weekend and avoid rush hour braking. Tomorrow's going to be a bumper to bumper stop and go day. can't wait...
-
and i've yet to see someone against crossbows who doesn't agree with you being allowed to use an xbow.
-
now i've heard "we could really use the rain" but never snow. haha
-
40 years is long enough for a tradition in my book. Come on man, the modern crossbow is also not the same as those used primarily for combat from 5th century BC. if you're going to be out there with one of these because you're about tradition than fine. But there still is no tradition for crossbow something. It's something new, and that's fine. I understand why some support it, but it is not how many have hunted during archery in NYS.
-
Your tradition of crossbow hunting? When did this tradition start? Guess what buddy, you may want to get back in your bomb shelter because the government and state have been telling you what you can and cant do for a long time now. The DEC has been telling you what you can and cant do for a while now in regards to when and where you hunt. Should we all be able to hunt private property too? I mean... nobody can tell us where we can hunt right? I will ask you for the final time to stop bringing your gun control issues into our discussion regarding crossbows and then I will just ignore you. If you have valid, educated and properly worded insult free points to make I would be glad to debate with you.

the age was 14 for archery when I started. At 14 I was a freshman and most of my buddies were capable of pulling back a bow. I also played youth football from 4th grade until senior year in school. I do have a kid. And "my fear" is that the tradition of bowhunting will die. Isn't that what a lot of us are concerned about here? preserving the tradition? Does it directly affect me? no. But I want to "pass it on"
