  1. that's kinda where I'm at. I'm not rooting for that to happen by any means, but I've seen how are government likes to track and control currency. This will end. The question is only how and when. Doesn't mean there will be a crash either, but it's just a ride I've chosen to not hop on. Good luck to those who are on it.
  2. if it's so easy, why do we need crossbows?
  3. You probably made it out clear. Most of what I've seen and heard is 12-20 hours later is when the side effects kick in. Like you I drank a shit ton and I'm pretty sure that's why mine were limited to just being a little more tired than usual.
  4. Factually incorrect as proved earlier in this very thread. Archery number and tags have been increasing. The uneducated, thumb sucking, non-science believing nimrods like you are why the country is in the state that it's in.
  5. Can't use that logic airedale, we all know that it doesn't matter what the neighbor does or what they use so why do you care? Oh wait...
  6. 1. it's not a rule, but it is why archery was introduced as its own season. Specifically to allow hunters seeking more of a challenge to be able to pursue deer with a stick and string unmolested by bangs and booms. Same with mz. It's a fact. 2. You can use your crossbow from the the last 2 weeks or archery all the way through to the end of the mz season. Nobody said you can't challenge yourself with it. 3. I'm pointing out the fact that many on this board are all up in arms about trannies when it doesn't affect them at all. Which of course is the argument yall love to use about crossbows. Shutup it doesn't affect you. Am I right?
  7. i'm a solid archer, I've missed one deer. The point was not my skill set, but to point out the variables an archer has that a crossbow does not. I forgot a few typically a crossbow allows you to remain seated, many (not all) archers stand and shoot bending at the waist not the arm in a treestand
  8. the difference is that I could give a crossbow to my 8 year old and he can hit bulls at 25 in 30 minutes. I cannot say the same for a compound. After he learns and practices every year for a few years? sure. Hence my ridding a bike comment. that's the difference. An archer is and has to be dedicated. Archery is SUPPOSED to be a challenge. I've said it so many times I should just copy and paste going forward. I want my support to be pure and for those out there truly looking for a challenge. Insert obligatory comment about elderly and disabled. btw, what does it matter to any of you if a trans male competes in women's sports? Doesn't effect you at all does it?
  9. the mechanics are easy? There's no draw in crossbow There's no grip torque There's no nock pinch There's no dropping of the bow arm There's peep alignment There's no anchor point(s) There's no 3rd axis on a site There's a finite amount of time one can be in full draw the list goes on... Oh and now 40 yards is what the average archer is shooting out to with a compound? I've never taken a shot past 35 and I know many others would say the same I honestly don't know if you're trolling or what here, but what in the???
  10. saw this the other day... but yeah it's the same as a recurve or a compound for sure. https://www.fieldandstreamshop.com/p/limbsaver-true-track-crossbow-bipod-with-picatinny-rail-19limulstrtrckbpdabw/19limulstrtrckbpdabw
  11. hard disagreement there. Sure you can start shooting nice groups at 20 yards flat footed in the back yards in shorts and tee shirt, but then understanding the mechanics and aim associated with doing the same on a 22* November morning in a tree stand are not the same. Additionally, having learned to ride a bike and then hoping on one after some time off is very different than just hoping on a bike in your 30's for the first time and racing around the block.
  12. I doubt that, I planted lilacs and lilies all around mine. It smells like a gas station bathroom with one of those deodorizer things. so there.
  13. oh I will hunt till the very last day. I just have always had better luck early season. Like I said, I'm a fair weather turkey hunter. Not a die hard or anything more than a casual chaser of beards. I more or less enjoy the spring, mixed in with a little sunshine meditation and deer season scouting. I believe this is year #10 in the turkey woods and I'll say my hunting down south was much better than up north. Earlier season timed with the breeding cycle and just a far greater number of birds. All that said, getting a gobble back and then hearing that gobble get closer and closer is unlike anything in hunting and it sure as shit is fun.
  14. Just be prepared to pay a lot more for it too I think newer small engines fair better than the older models. I also think the amount of use is important. So something like a mower and snow blower used frequently and stored properly is less at risk of gumming up. But maybe a leaf blower, chain saw, string trimmer, pressure washer etc that is used only seasonally and less frequently can cause issues. I use ethanol free in everything and also store everything full in the off season with sta-bil.
  15. sigh... I was in bed at a decent time, I slept well and at 4am I just couldn't find the energy. Sure I was tired, but if I'm being honest this weather is really crushing my turkey hunting spirit. I'm not a diehard turkey hunter, I enjoy the time in the woods and the chase more than anything with turkey. It's a very different type of hunt and a different reason on why I hunt than whitetails. Of course I'd love to land a nice Tom or even a jake... but 40's with overcast and rain/drizzle is just a total mood killer for me. The sad thing is that the next 2 weeks don't look like it's getting any better in 8F and by mid-May the breading in NY always seems to be at a trickle. Just venting I guess but also a little bummed
  16. just started some hardening today. noticed all 6 of my spinach starters died and not sure why. lettuce, peppers and eggplant are doing fine...
  17. I did ok if you don't include PENN. lost a $600 option, doubled down and lost another $500 lol. Other than that though I made enough on other plays to erase those losses. edit to say i have a couple turd May options in CPNG and INTC
  18. my walmart options are printing this am. might sell while i'm ahead. But of course aapl beats expectations and their stock tanks.
  19. I just think if you're going to make a bold claim like that, you need to back up why you think the way you do. That goes for doom and gloom and everything is unicorn rainbow farts.
  20. No expert here either, but it's my understanding that the shorter barrels were meant for the run and gunner. Easier to maneuver through thicker stuff, less of a profile and lighter. If you're hunting a spot where you're pretty stationary and even when you do move, your travels are pretty open or easy then just stick with a 24 or even longer if you'd like a little more accuracy. There is no "correct" barrel length for turkey, it's up to your style of hunting. Mine came with a 24 and it's been fine, even in a blind, but my blinds are brushed in so I sit in a corner (back corner that is up against brush with windows closed), not the middle. Note that they make a bunch of sub 20's I think. I don't think the tradeoff of accuracy is worth it there unless you're not hunting fields at all.
  21. I have tomorrow off but looks like rain and cloudy... just not sure if it's worth the effort, although my best bird came in the rain. At least it'll be warmer and not windy I guess. I've found the first 2 weeks, the first especially are the most effective at seeing birds so I don't want to waste the opportunity either. I'm a fair weather turkey hunter, I know, but I love sitting in the edge of that field when the warm sun crests over.
  22. I’ve always been taught to aim at the waddles Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Gah about 3 min after my last post I had a Yelp and cluck real close. Got ready and a hen walks 5 yards in front of the blind. Goes over to one of my hen decoys and noses around a little before silently walking off. No dudes trailing her. Wild. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
