  1. If there are alot of deer in an area we as hunters have a job to do, and that is kill deer, many of which are doe's. If you guys want to go hunting and not actualy try to kill deer then have at it. There are an estimated 1 million deer in NYS as NYantler said in another thread, there is no shortage state wide, maybe in some areas but not all.
  2. Well 3 inch mags of course..haha 2 3/4 6's High Velocity Remingtons.
  3. Sounds like you have brain washed, mine's been doing that to me since I was knee high to a deers ass. Its part of the reason I had kids, I will need them to return the favor as soon as they are able (7&2). LOL Its not near as fun to hunt when he stays home and I am dreading the first season with out him so hopefully that doesn't happen for many more years.
  4. All my Dad ever gives me is a deer to drag out for him, and he hasn't done that in two years! lol
  5. ALOT of laws need to be updated, like the no parking on the side of the road after Nov 1st one we have up here. Tell me that ain't to keep hunters from parking and going in hunting.
  6. I wish I could get it, its one of the old ones that are worth a pretty penny. Unfortunately his son will get it some day.. I would love to have it for bird hunting and cause it was his.
  7. Never used anything but the 12 gage 870 or Moss 500, my uncle used a Browning Sweet 16 for ever untill he missed the biggest buck of his life. Then he went to a Remington 1100 and quit hunting shortly after. He did kill alot of deer with his 16.
  8. I'll start saving it up for you.
  9. hehe, Technically I would have to come down to you, I am a northwoods hill billy so yer kind ain't gonna suprise me at all. And the Banjo music might just be playing in my truck.
  10. Yea I guess its possible, they do loose a considerable amount during the rut. I think it can be as much as 30% of their weight (could be wrong). My brother shot a simular racked 8 a few years ago late in rifle season that dressed out at 140 and I had figured pre-rut he would have been real close to 200 dressed weight which would have put him in the 250 live weight range. Here is a link to the meat mans web site, on it you will find the math to do the estimates for live weight and more. Seems preety damn acurate. http://www.askthemeatman.com/estimate_deer_weight.htm
  11. As far as I can tell its free to use on your PC through the web site, I might actually sign up to mess with it.
  12. Damned if I know why you started a thread, and did I mention you specificly in my post? No I didn't so don't go getting all upset.
  13. 278? I have a hard time beleiving that one, for sure a big deer but it takes a hell of lot to hit 278.
  14. Steve and I toured the country with our singing group back in the day, before that we grew up in the same tribe hunting bongo's with bamboo spears. Here is a clip of us on tour, im the one in the purple shirt and steve is the shorter one to my left. #After the tour ended we remained friends and all these years later are now business partners, we just hooked abunch of new business for our newest endeavor. We came up with an app that tells dim witted hunters what way the wind is blowing when they are out side in the wind. Next we are working on one that tells you when you are wet in a rain storm. We are not actual brothers or lovers as that dirty stinking pygmy suggested, just good friends from the home land. Steve is back there now sharing the wealth, we made $1.99 off of WNY today and that goes a long way back home.
  15. I looked it up when I got home here, Easton recomends a .300 spine for you unless you do drop down in poundage then the .340 would be ok. The Havesters are a .350 which again if it were me I would have shortened by a half inch and drop to 65 if you don't want go out and buy new arrows in a .300 spine. How you got this issue (as did I) is from shooting a 30 inch arrow, the charts are set up for 28 or 29 inch max and once you get over that amount the chart goes out the window. The brand of the arrow is less important than the spine IMO. I shoot CX Piledriver 450's which are a .300 spine oddly enough.
  16. LOL, Steve863 went for the home land location hahahahhahahaha
  17. WNY make sure to put your stand sites into the app so I can have a chance at having some one hack into it for me and give the map to it.
  18. Exactly John, it seems like its a good enough idea and APP that guys will like it any how so why not tell the truth? I however don't think my phone would have enough power to run an app by the sounds of it so I will go on with out it.
  19. Bingo Phade. Looks like Dpalmer posted something very simular in a NJ forum in August. hehe http://www.newjerseyhunter.com/article107680.htm
  20. HAHA!!! Hey I have this new camo that me and Steve863 invented called RealStink, you wanna buy some? Its really just my dirty old camo's but I tell you they are proven deer killers!
