  1. Please note how they had him face the other direction to hide the ugly side. Just imagine, me and him are buddies..lol
  2. Makes sure you get the front of your face aswell unless you plan on jumping out of the bushes to ugly your deer to death.
  3. Thats how I tell too, the last time I had a mistake was ten years ago. I had a bunch of deer running by me on a drive and I pulled up and dropped the first one that came close and stopped..opppss, should have waited for one of the other 20 that ran by me.
  4. Yes, its not to hard to tell fawn from adult though so to me its easy. And then you get an oddity like I had last week where I swore it was a 1.5 old buck that had nothing but buttons as it was about a 110 pound deer. It got the pass just in case. I did see the tiniest fawn ever last week, the one that ran by me at 5 feet was soooo small you could tell in one second it was a fawn.
  5. What a silly thread, at least a few of you fellas actually shoot real deer still. I suspect that some are full of it, an awefull lot of guys can't tell the difference between a Button buck and a doe so how is it that you know if the doe has a fawn nearby before you shoot it? Obviously I don't pass on any doe's that stumble by me, hence the name Doewhacker. I do lay off the fawns though.
  6. Yes Culver all of those big bucks killed out there are a figment of your imagination, like that one you got last year...it was fake and if you let him grow another 5 years he might have been a 52 pointer that scored 400.
  7. I just went through this, this year, I have a simular set up. 70# and a 30 inch arrow, field points flew great and my muzzy's were poo after 25-30 yards. By going to a .300 spine all my problems went away. I also did the walkback tune method as I didn't have a frame to paper tune, walkback works just aswell and you can learn how to do it on a few different sites. You might be able to cure the issue by droping to 65 pounds too, the smallest adjustments can fix these issues. I just feel that a stiffer spine is better overall but if you can't get new arrows start with lowering your weight and go from there. Don't get to frustrated, its a realatively easy fix.
  8. Oh and I'm assuming you a righty, if so the left trail at 30 would represent a weak spine.
  9. Paper tune or walk back tune it, if that don't help you can either shorten your arrows by a half inch or step up in spine to .300 which is what I would recomend doing. You could also reduce your weight out front to 75 grains but that may not have enough of an impact to help you.
  10. What about the other one, picklepuss. Elmer, can I car pool with you?
  11. Some guys like me would require a bunch of dots cause I hunt all over.
  12. Where is a good website to buy this stuff?
  13. We still hit the diner's on the way in most times, not all though. We don't go in wearing our camo's so I guess you might not know you were sitting next to some hunters. Never had an issue with stinking like a diner as a result and we have killed many deer over the years. We drive a ways to get to our hunting areas so for me I would have to get up at 330 am to make my self breakfast and get out of the house on time. Diner is just easier for me.
  14. Burt, would you please mentor me and maybe steve863? Sounds like fun, its funny how the focus changes after a few years of hunting eh?
  15. Saw some scrapes last weekend and a few different bucks on the road side and a couple in the woods too. Things are getting better, I hope.
  16. Had a good weekend for sightings and close encounters. Seen 12-15 Friday, I lost track, one buck and had two different deer with in feet of me while I was still hunting. One fawn was no more than 5 feet, lol. Seen 7 today, one buck few nice does a fresh scrape line and no shots. We wasted time trying to get across the creek first thing and that cost a chance at the second place we hit. Damn water is still way to high to get into our best spot, I thought we were going to get wet this morning, it was deep and fast and my brother and I were worried for a second. We quit when it got above waste high and couldn't feel the bottom. Also saw three bucks on the sides of roads today, one decent one and two medium sized. i left feeling frustrated today but atleast I am seeing deer, 37 for the year so far.
  17. And that would be why I said what I was pissed about a couple of post's back.... Some stories and pictures, or actually all of my pictures I don't care to share on here or anywhere else. Thats just me, I'm sure my opinions on posting pictures are different form yours, again, I don't care, its not why I hunt. I sure do like reading some of the stories here though.
  18. Its killing you isn't it? The idea that some one against AR's can kill a deer bigger than you? Oh well, don't care.
  19. Maybe they can stop on the way to the hospital and get some french cries.
  20. Yikes, phade that sounds like a rough season and makes a sprain seem like childs play.
  21. Mom...wny kicked my blocks over...waaa waaa waaaa.
