  1. Oh great well now you owe me $197.16 for the 16 replacement biskets I ordered...lol You know I saw the way to replace them the same day you posted this, kinda funny, and a relief!
  2. I got out Friday night, it was hot and VERY buggy but the thermacell did its job. I saw another hunter who came in to my set up so I moved, worked out because I saw a doe and fawn and a funky antelope like 4 point in my next set up. I was on the ground and they came from the direction I wasn't expecting, ofcourse, so no shot. Next time I will move over just a bit around a blow down and if they follow the same plan I will be good. Not bad for no scouting in this spot this year, lol Now I have to wait for the rain to stop, hopefully tomorow night will be better.
  3. I just got a pair of Bog's, Blaze MT, my first impression is that they are super comfie and warm and they have a lifetime waranty all for $113. I will see how they work in the woods soon.
  4. 5R,5J, 4J,4S, 3J and Burts place when he's not there. ha!
  5. I think you just want an excuse to buy a new bow Geno, haha
  6. They make them that you can mount it to the front and come around and have the stabilizer too, thats what I have along with string leaches. The leaches I don't care for, already had one break. I used to use the rubber whisker style that went into the string and most likely will go back to them.
  7. I will take a different approach if thats what they are doing, I will buy up enough replacement biscuits to last me the rest of my life..lol Lancaster has my style for a price of $12, so if I replace them every three years and bow hunt till I'm 80 I only have to buy 16 of them at a cost of $197. Ha thats the cost of two new rests like you want. And you are older than me so it might be $12 cheaper for you..lol
  8. So why don't you want to just order it over the net? I know you like to stay local but for something like this whats the difference? And I can't beleive they would even sell one that doesn't have the replaceable part on it, what the heck is wrong with them.
  9. I'll be out starting Thursday night, I live in the NZ so I just go after work and the weekend when I can. I hope I can pull a "fantail" and kill one or two before the 10/1 opener like you did last year!
  10. Yet another place that I wish was closer, very cool, and its got a roof over it which is great.
  11. I have seen far worse shot selection on TV shows on a regular basis. No where near a good shot but it did kill the pig rather quickly if you ask me.
  12. I dunno? Last year I totaled up the hours and it was pretty good but I'm not like some of you fellas that can go every day. Pretty much every weekend from Oct. 1st till the end of the season. I guess if I actually came up with a number it would be a good one.
  13. Thats great!!! She sounds alot like my boy, and I think thats the next bow I want to get him for his upcoming birthday too. I figure that will last him untill he is ready to take over my wifes bow in a few years to hunt with. And you ought to see my 2 year old shoot, she loves it too!
  14. All I know is after reading the long shots and Texas heart shot threads I am ready to try a 100 yard Texas Heart shot, who's with me?
  15. Ahh Antler dont really kill a whole lot of deer while bow walking or is it bow hunting? lol Thats just a friendly shot antler dont go gettin up tight on me....
  16. Good idea, I learned an important string loop leason today. When you are replacing your current loop with a new one be sure to mark or measure your nocking point and also be sure to get the nott side away from your cheek or it will give you a kiss when you shoot. I Now I had the nocking point measured and marked but I did not have the notts on the right side so now I got a boo boo. I blame that on looking at the directions which are obviously set up for a right handed person. At first I had the notts on different sides of the string, that is another important step to note. I found out if the notts are on two different sides of the string it will mess up your tune you had on your bow and send your arrows off in the wrong direction. Once I got it all figured out I am back to normal, who would have thought a little thing like a nott in a string loop could mess you up.
  17. "one guy...he and his wife looked to be in their 80's had several trophy rocks in his cart...lol" So you had a chance to meet fasteddie I see. He thought those were stone tablets for writing on not bait.
  18. Very true Doc, so I guess if I want to keep Pheasant hunting I should befriend some politicians. lol yea right!
  19. No it doesnt work at all so every one stop doing it ok? lol We use the real deal instead of synthetic plastic crap, it works given the right conditions and the right touch. What you don't need to do is smash them together like you might see on TV, that may work but I think its done for the screen and not real life. We tickle the horns together lightly to simulate sparring, this has work far better than any thing else over the years. Case in point, my brother shot a 9 with the bow last year that he was able to turn and bring in a little closer by just lightly tapping the tines together. Same goes for grunt tubes, they can be very effective but not so much if over used. I hate carrying them ratteling horns because no matter what I do they end up poking and proding me some where around my over hanging gut. Ouch! Oh wait I only shoot does...right Burt
  20. hmmm, some of the people that aren't ok with a long shot with the bow are completely ok with taking a dumb "ass" shot. Go figure.
  21. Is that what you told the DEC when they asked you about it? BBBBBBBBSSSSSSSSSSSSS You know it sure did take you a long time to come up with that story.
  22. There are allways crazy comments at the end of news stories, it gives people a chance at saying stuff with no repricussions. I think I know a guy that deserves this banning.
  23. Same goes for any yardage, even the close up chip shots, the first one is the only one that matters.
  24. I also shoot left handed, most sights say if they can be switched to suit a lefty. This can be a pain to do though, I got a Tru glo DDP and let me tell you flipping the pins on that was a bit of a pain in the arse. I suppose it wouldn't be as bad on a sight that has all the same sized pins. You can get anything you want for say 60-100 bucks, I would look for one with a level and .19 diameter pins and a light. I got my wife a nice Apex 4 pin for I think $60 last year, thats a good sight and a fair price. I would look for sights with metal parts, the plastic one seem to slip or break rather easily.
