What? I stated I hunt land open to the public and that its not as bad as you make it out to be. How the hell would you know how bad it is if you don't hunt anywhere but the two posted parcels of land you do? You are the one that said deer don't move which is incorrect, you seem to have an issue of stating an opinion and when someone corrects you, you argue which would mean you are the one in the measuring contest. I hunt a lot of different properties varying in size from 100 to several hundred acres none of which are "exclusive" to me and some are public land. Rarely do I see another hunter all year long, its not as doom and gloom as you make it out to be. Lots of guys are just like you and quit after a week, I prefer later season for gun and hope for snow once bow season is over. Don't get upset because I might know a thing or three about hunting, just because my screen name is doewhacker doesn't mean I don't know my stuff on the properties I hunt. Worry about you, not the neighbors or Doewhacker or evil crossbow hunters that will be the end of the world as we know it. It will be ok, just hunt.

Contrary to popular belief deer don't stay in one spot all day and wait for dark to move. They may not move as far or by your tree but they still get up and move every few hours.

You sound a little butt hurt because you aren't seeing deer from this "pressure" currently. Maybe it has more to do with your hunting style and the time of year? Nah has to be the neighbors who aren't as good as you.

So if the terrible hunters that don't hunt exactly the way you do are neighbors wouldn't that drive all the pressured deer onto your pristine property? Seems like a lot of folks are afraid of the boogie man.

We have been discussing this at home and last night we were out at 530, it is so dark I find it hard to believe this guy mistook her for a deer accidentally.

Challenge is a personal thing, you may find something a challenge while someone else won’t. I know for a fact if I went and hunted in a certain property I could fill my tags with does with the bow but I don’t because I find it easy honestly. I’d rather hunt and barely see a deer because it’s more of a challenge and many guys would opt for the proven doe spot.

Yup. This year I hung cams over a few different scrapes and freshened them up with my own pee, zero animals were spooked by it. In fact many different animals stopped to sniff it, does, coyotes, Fox, and even squirrels. The buck in my avatar is checking his scrape I peed in for the third time that week. I timed it right where my scent was gone before he came through. No problems

Many of these cases turn into some type of murder charge because it’s not really an accident to do what he did.

Ny would need to copy what Maine does, like has been said, it ain’t gonna happen. Logging roads open access but it doesn’t make it any easier to get a deer. Also I don’t recall seeing too many tops left in my Maine travels.
