My sons 14th Bday today, we just came in from freezing our butts off.

High fence? I don't think gun is open in PA yet.

I can't see where you are coming up with that. From the link you provided.. "History Fossil records indicate coyotes have existed in what is today eastern North America since the Pleistocene period, a million years ago. Occurrence has been intermittent over that time, and only in the past 75 years has the animal appeared to become common. The coyote's status in Pennsylvania during the 1700s and 1800s is clouded with that of the wolf. Old bounty records indicate both coyotes and wolves from other sections of the country were fraudulently turned in as wolves here during the late 1800s. Little is known of the wolf in Pennsylvania, or if indeed the same animal now called the "eastern coyote" in fact might have been similar to the wolf of the past. Pictures dating to the 1930s have appeared over the years in the Pennsylvania Game Commission's magazine Game News. These animals look like the same coyotes being killed today. The first coyote identified as an animal similar to what we today call the "eastern coyote" was killed in Tioga County in 1940. In the late 1960s, it appears an influx of coyotes entered northern Pennsylvania from the Catskill Mountains in New York, and from there they spread south and west across the state. In the 1970s, the highest population in Pennsylvania was in the Pocono Mountains. The coyote continued to expand its range during the late 1970s and occupied the entire state by 1990, with the highest populations across the northern half of the state." If anything it furthers what the DEC and others state, wolves first, then Coyote's after Wolves are gone. Wolves do not typically cohabitate with Coyote's. I found this claim odd so I looked into it and it turns out Coyotes weren’t seen in the North east until the early 1900’s and more widely from about 1930 on. So basically I’m saying you are wrong. Wolves were eliminated early on but not Coyotes because they simply weren’t here. http://www.dec.ny.gov/animals/9359.html http://www.esf.edu/pubprog/brochure/coyote/coyote.htm

Jameson Black Barrel or Jameson Cask Mate. Manhattans, sometimes with maple syrup or I put it in ginger beer.
-
Ahh I was wondering you joined them together safely. I figured it was that or stacking them somehow.

What brand sells 4 foot sections? Curious.

Outside company with 8 out of 10 years on the contract. There is sooooo much wasted labor though it’s crazy.

I meant crappy as in midnights, holidays, family get togethers, kids sports ect. Nothing worse than a guy that gets hit with mandatory after a 16hr over night. I did those hours for much of my career in food service too, now I have a cushy job that I could literally do all of my tasks in one day a week.
-
You have to live through working crappy shifts for years before you can have the seniority to take that kind of time off. I work in a county jail (not a CO) but in Food service as a Director. Some of the guys take that kind of time off but certainly not all of them. And yes they do work a ton of OT, some mandatory, to make good money. I prefer to take it easy with my company and still make good money without the OT. The Pro's for CO's are good benefits and decent pay, the cons, its jail, where the bad guys go with nothing to loose.

Going to the range this morning

Shots 9-12 today with my sons Axis 7-08 with a cheap Nikon Buckmaster scope. 100 yards. Shots 5-8 at 70 yards. Also 1-2 to the far right which were aimed at a different point and the barely enough room bolt. Not bad for a dirty barreled cheap set up. -
High winds are great for still hunting or hunting from the ground, the wind confuses them and they cant tell where the scent is coming from. It also masks any noise you might make. Saturday we had some good winds, I got down early on the night sit and saw four doe feeding in the open (which they are prone to do in winds). I was able to stalk into range but couldn't manage a shot, even at ten yards down wind they never smelled me. I did get busted once the main doe circled behind and had me twisted up like a pretzel, she caught me move my foot. I have little interest sitting up in a tree in high winds though.

It ain’t no Browning or xzy brand but we got it for him because it was cheap. I’ll post the results after final adjustments to show that it is indeed a shooter though. I could buy three or four Savages for the price of some other guns but in the end it will kill deer just as dead and be just as accurate. And...I don’t have to shoot it haha -

Actually the whole action is sticky and tight to me. On top of that there is barely any room when the bolt is open between the scope and the bolt. Functionaly speaking it’s fine, I just don’t like it lol. -
I used lead sinkers, they are malleable enough to be made to fit snuggly. Once I got the shape I wanted I pushed them down from the nock end followed by a little plastic wading I made with glue on it. Works great, I had some that weighed 25 grains which was exactly what I wanted.

She’s trying to apply a different set of Reg’s to her situation but she doesn’t know the regs to know she is wrong. You cannot hunt waterfowl with lead shot and there are size limits to the shot you can use. If you are caught with lead shot or a slug of any kind it is on violation of the law. None of that has anything to do with her attempts to interpret the law as she sees fit for her own personal gain.

Thanks I heard about that and planned on it. I am so happy to say good bye to the enormous cable bill!!
-
We just cut the cord again and are going to get the Fire stick, I'll have to look into some of these shows. Maybe lol I haven't watched a hunting show in years.

Great reminder!

Wrong, it is illegal to have a firearm while bow hunting.
-
Actually I believe there is a law prohibiting having lead while duck or goose hunting.

I finally worked up a load for my sons 7-08 which I copied from you. Barnes TTSX 120gr, RL15 powder. No surprise to me it worked best on max load, I need to shoot it one or two more times to fine tune it but I was impressed in the gains I saw over factory ammo. I am really pleased that his cheapo Axis performed as well as it did, if I could get by the bolt and looks I would buy one..hehe -
It is illegal to have a slug on you while Turkey or small game hunting. There are shot size rules for this reason. They are not allowed to be carried at the same time, you can bow hunt deer or gun hunt turkey but you cannot have a gun on you while bow hunting.
