Huntingwny sells their own mineral for out of state use. The first yr they had their cam contest everything had a salt block in it. On the other side I doubt a trophy rock will get deer killed (bait or otherwise)- guessing there are plenty of corn and apple piles out in the woods come October though

Never said they didn't issue enough-have lingered on the too many side for along time though. If you don't know how many deer live in an area how do you know when there are too many and/or how many should be removed? The Dec is a no win- but it is hard to see where they're managing anything being license sales. This is not what DEC is an acronym for. Lots of empirical and devils advocate stances in this small forum- just think about the questions I posed and what factual tangible rebuttals there are(n't). When the deer are gone- they're gone. Turkey season changed for most guys this spring... Didn't it?

Been living on the darn 90 lately from NF to the hudson valley- slow over all. Gcc used to have a great show as we'll as one field by Dewitt. Saw a wounded 140-50" 10 lie down in the median just past Gcc one day. Gone 4 hrs later. Tifft farm in buffalo is another great spot for big guys

Can't wait for it to called tragic when the SZ has deer populations like the ADKS.
-
People who hate plots are unable to have them- if I plant an apple tree I am baiting if I hunt one that's there I am not. Whiskey tango foxtrot

This forum is so full of know it alls. The thread was about ny retailers selling bait and folks buying it in quantity. I added what I wanted- just one more know it alls opinion. Read the references for my thoughts. As for being a pot stirrer... Just anther member of the club.

You never know what they'll be till they're there.

Food plots aren't baiting any more than hunting an oak. What a joke. Just wondering if those of you that fish feel like only certain methods are baiting.

I think the thread states enough but to take your bait- go to a sporting goods store the week (let alone) day before gun season to see all the well prepared folks. You can also just talk to anyone who is capable of drawing a bow that wants a crossbow.

They don't have one- duh!!! They don't know anything. They just keep trying to sell more licenses. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Ny hunters are the laziest do nothing and expect everything bunch there is. Bait, tag cheating, weapon cheating and trespassing (which may be the state sport).... Sad place. No enforcement. Everyone of these hunting stores peddles that krap by the truckload. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Hunter density for the state means nothing- you need to look at hunter density by region. More guys in Erie county alone. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Only one pic counts- and trail cams don't take them Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Quick look at his bases and back swag and I would guess 3.5 this season (though will admit this stage is hard to judge esp w one pic) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

READ THIS----- IMPORTANT COMMERCIAL HUNTING of NYS DEER
gjs4 replied to eagle rider's topic in Deer Hunting
The dec makes revenue related to the outdoors. Stop believing they have a clue or care with regard to our hunting past the dollars. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -
Without an accurate census of the population how can the dec determine how many does should be harvested? With only 35-40% of the harvest to be believed to be reported how can you realistically set harvest goals based off other assumed statistics? Guys we are not going to have deer left here soon as our source for management is incompetent. A few years back I touted I had some knowledge of the crossbow plans - lets just say the antler less ml season will be here soon. It is all a joke with a sad punch line to come Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Not sure if it a joke or serious but I agree. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Thinking the next and last time I will go to the one in Tonawanda is their going out of business sale in mid August. I have never been in a store with more things that you cannot figure out the price of. Ugh. It was a great store the first year....been downhill since and the staff I dealt with must pinch hit with the Tops next store because they didn't know a thing...
