Wow- this video shows some sad reality. The one woman had some basis and fact (despite being pro SAFEACT) where as what was showed of the others it didnt seem like they knew much of anything. Just idiots pulling levers.....

8g- heard two gobbles sat am....up to 12 shots total in 4 outtings...... had birds when i scouted; now i dont. Trying not to get discouraged, especially four days in. LOL

I dont have better data but my guesses may be as accurate. BTW genius; its not my job to have the data. Great point on every deer SteveB.... how about most state have an idea on population and harvest based on fact; Why dont you call and ask how many deer are in your region and where taken in your region? Most states can give you some facts in that regard. Maybe caring about deer numbers is social issue and not a deer management one.

This is about as truthful and a bridge for sale in the desert..... How does the state know the overall population of live deer and its breakdown? That is needed to make the cal more deer have to die unless you have folks filling your pockets just to say that. They guess at over 50% of the take (call it statistically backed but it is an unknown) and claim to age enough deer at processors for these numbers.... nope, not buying. Great to see the 40,000 yearly buck take....... how sad is that? Maybe the youth enrollment in hunting jumped 5% too. I am willing to buy some squares for next years take results....theyve probably been assembled already anyhow The only thing worse than this report is know folks believe it

on some other forums the crossbow folks have crawled out of there subforum to taunt theyre now legal for use in from oct 15 on in archery and within 150' of your house

Bow hunting takes skill, your kind of "hunting" takes an orange coat and some trespassing? Perhaps its because we have been dumped on by the DEC that doesn't do their job beyond selling folks like you more licenses

There is a specific joy that comes from driving a hippy station wagon with a couple of dead deer on the slide in rack. I average 25 mpg and with the trailer the only thing i lost is my manhood. lol. Probably buying another in time

Excuses are easier than accountability....and QDM is hard work and costs money. There is nothing about NYS deer hunting that has had true understanding and management about it, The DEC does a poor job and now people are supposed to do a much better job on their own without that upbringing; tough sell for many. Many people do not see hunting as a privilege or a link to their own impact on the outdoors here...simply get a license and shoot some chit. Aldo Leupold would turn in his grave to view NY state's stance/approach to hunting.

The QDMA would do far better in Albany than your neck of the woods.....

There have been deer out at all hours and all places for the past two weeks....probably trying to replace lost weight/energy from this eternal winter As for the permit system...the flaws lie in determinations with population census and hunter take. The DEC is just guessing or using limited data for large conclusion. This state varies so much. heck, even areas vary annually.

The reporting and the one buck all have the same common denominator..... the DEC It doesn't matter what you want or don't; our states number 1 priority is license sales...that's why we have multiple seasons, safety courses, little to no value in census (of population, hunters, kills)...... I am so against crossbows but it if it went the one and done route I would fight for the front of the supporter line.... its all about the $$$$- not you or the deer beyond the dollars....

It seems all the guys in the crossbow lines hunting 150' from someones house because their drivers license says they can will be forgiving him..... and that's half this forum

In NY- hard work is the enemy of interest. So against them for the general populous The BIG issue is how so many people are forgetting the same governor who broke your heart is taking you to prom as his backup date..... stop being idiots.... nothing is in your best interest... money and power
