your always spending money, just on different things when it makes sense. everyone inevitably spends what they make. the money goes somewhere.

your nephews are ahead of me. i work for someone else and they get the money for my services. i don't know my credit score either i don't see why i need to either. the other larry's right. pensions are nice. i'm private sector though so i don't know what that is. plus i'd be too young to even think about it.

in 4J i've sat in some of the most ridiculous spots that wouldn't normally be anywhere a deer would go. they're ambush spots to catch small groups of deer swiftly heading toward pockets of small cover in accessible like behind housing developements. only thing is gives the deer is cover. no food or water, but they just wait it out and loiter unless bumped by activity in a backyard. one even offered to use his house a blind. another saw my orange and proceeded to tell their children i'd probably shoot them. you just play by the rules and all is well.

that's often the problem in any area of the state. we had a couple stop by our deer booth at a local fair. they were interested in concepts of holding capacity and overpopulation. they said there seemed to be too many deer on their land and the neighbors aren't taking as much as they thought apparently. so i said there was a co-op near them they could join to get a better idea of the deer numbers in their area but what they see is what it is and relevant. they let out the truth. the husband was from long island and didn't want deer hunted on their property. they then asked a rhetorical question of allowing hunting would reduce the deer numbers right? i respectfully told them yes. lol

most millionaires i know don't really gamble or play the lottery. not that they couldn't use more money but they see it as a poor investment with little chance of gain. it's often hard to not see they're well off but most i know are fairly modest with their houses and money. don't finance shit unless it's the conditions of a minimum amount to get some sort of money off on something like say a vehicle. every nickel and dime saved is earned and worth it, unless it's a must have creature comfort to them or not worth their time they'd lose doing something else. the real question is it's easier to make money if you have money. would you be the person to invest it with risk to turn it into much more or would you put more of it in something safe to draw off a small percentage?

haha...i returned a milk bottle to the mom and pop store down the road for $1.50 and then scoured up some loose change that was on the floor of the truck to buy a ticket. too bad i didn't win. they would've gotten a nice cut.

the minds of alchemist and hill farmstead both in one beer. how's it stack up to others you've had?

sounds advice already given to not let neighbors dictate your standards. it's a real concern for many though. if you're that concerned with the neighbors talk to them. just show them what you've seen and tell them your choice but we're not shooting it. if we see anything else we'll let you know. you have to stick to your guns though and not go against what you said. if you don't talk to them they may be thinking the same thing about you with the same goal in mind. bucks don't stay a secret they move and people see them around. don't try to sway or dictate your neighbors harvest but let them know where you're at.

can't help you. never done produce like that. some stuff might wilt in heat with no air.
-
It's MED for residents first DMP choice then nothing. I'll have to think if i want one. I do just fine filling 3 over the counter tags.

They gave yours to the folks in 5R near Saratoga. They said all their highdollar landscaping is getting eaten.

usually i'm staying tuned up all year. this year has been very busy. haven't had the time but will soon if i can find the time.

slowly things are getting away from physically demanding labor. so instead of being worn out from abuse people are worn out from sitting on their ass. often not by choice but occupation. i sit in an office all day for long hours at times. only so much you can do with a job like that. i still do farm work just not as much as when i was young and living there. others may have done extreme sports when younger that has left them broken and still young.

and then some of us have tractors with plows just to survive. lol

sometimes an arrow or 2 will just fly like crap. sometimes from shooting it other times from how it's handled in a place like Walmart. Only Carbon Express arrows i've shot for any lengthy time were the Blu RZs. They shot very well and i toed the line with them being light and weak. weird flaking or pitted finish had me scratching my head but nothing functionally wrong with them.

it's flat out disgusting the difference in hunting experiences here within 4C. there's QDM co-ops where the hunting is great and odds very high of filling tags. then just a 20 minute drive to my house still in that WMU and it's very little deer numbers (that's coming from me, a guy that owns a local honey hole for deer). people there basically take whatever deer they can fill a tag with buck, doe, or fawn. they don't understand that DEC gives them tags but they do the management with a trigger pull. i've offered up spots and intel to complete strangers complaining to me there's no deer that would likely have them filling tags in 4j where it's guaranteed to get whatever you want for DMP tags and they just tell me they're going to pass because it's not as convenient as the situation out the back door that you stated. they're definitely their own worst enemy. plus when i explain some QDM practices to them that'd help i get the "you're a horn hunter. you're an elitist. i don't own enough land to matter. i don't own any land to make any of that matter." i just let them walk away knowing i'm going to shoot another deer in a place where there's none and we'll have the same conversation all over again.

Some gunn hill stuff in cans down the road. How was it? Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

They're one of the best for shanties. Still not my thing though. Wide loves them and so they usually are in our fridge. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

Trying like crazy but can't seem to empty the fridge of beer. Wife picked up the grapefruit stuff and I the jai alai. Figured I'd try it as it's been posted on here enough. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

Wasn't boring due to the hoppiness and body but very crushable being a light wheat ale. I was surprised the same as you. That one mixed pack is only place I've seen it. Cans cool as hell too. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

Live from the rifle range
dbHunterNY replied to Robhuntandfish's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
i have two pivoting bipods... one for sitting or prone facing down hill and one for prone on more level ground. forget the lengths though. make sure you zero with it on and not resting on a hard surface (ground has some give) or your POI will change. when zeroing at the range i just use an old hand towel. then when setting up in the field make sure you're not right on ledge or rock. legs should fold forward so it lets the gun recoil straight back rather than almost have a little more muzzle flip if they bottom out with recoil when folded other way. for your hand, a tightly rolled up hoodie or many other things work under the butt stock at that point. i use them really only on my varmint gun and use the sitting length ones more. definitely good to get lower and more straight behind the gun for longer shots though. thinking about getting AR500 plate at walmart. seems they're selling around 6" diameter ones. gives you better feedback. i can't see hits that well on shoot-n-c type paper targets much farther than that from my 18x scope. edit: the short bipod is actually in the picture i last posted almost as short as it'll go. i guess reusable grocery bags in the wife's car work too. -
Totally signing my kid up for the kinderguardian program. I feel for a 4 yrs old she's totally responsible and has a passive demeanor enough to take a little action if need be. Best for the safety of her and other children. I just hope more support this in NY schools in the lower grade levels. Kinder Guardian Program

dbHunterNY replied to dbHunterNY's topic in Small Game and Predator Hunting
Here's some pictures of the recent ones taken. The one in my 2nd amendment garden was only one not from the farm. (Disclaimer: none were mounted but if you're in need of a spare cape I can go fetch you one. Pickup only though. No delivery.) Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk -
Seeking Rochester NY Area Lease
dbHunterNY replied to DKaiser's topic in Land For Sale, Lease, and Requests
yup just have to tag out sooner. heck on the family farm i have to get up early and drive the 25 minutes there because some family members will roll out of bed and drive an atv a few hundred yards and get to my first. lol -
my dad has that same setup. he's never done it but typically the deer keep more distance during the season. also i've thought about shooting one right off my back deck. problem is hunters toeing the property line stir deer up too much they don't come out at the same spot during regular rifle season.
