  1. they're all over the place now with younger ones running around. fields are getting mowed too so i've been taking more lately.
  2. we're an ag farm. taken over a 100 off the 350 ish acres some years. never seen one in the woods. always out in the hay fields digging holes. if they were in the woods they'd live a long life. i'd leave it be probably.
  3. depends most of the time it's laying across my lap. in bigger more permanent stands bow is on a hanger. rifle with time of year almost always on lap or in hand.
  4. hard to tell what kind it is to me, as in slip sleeve or fitted keyed tube sliding over another. tube style you need around a 1/3 the length worth of overlap (more than 2" overlap) at whatever length your extending it to. if it's a slip sleeve type i think it just covers the sleeve length for overlap. if you can get it so it can be hammered back in without damaging the knuckle bearings then you can backup to it, hook up PTO, backup more, and then hook up to hitch. eventually through use it'll work out the kink/deformation. only can turn a little and one way not the other with your offset hitch. could measure from bend to bend at knuckles, but don't want it to bottom out either or you'll break the gearbox. i'd instead get the max length you can that won't bottom out when the PTO straight (in your case turning one way slightly). can't make them longer but can always take them apart and cut length off.
  5. wait you all actually hunt in the fall? i thought everyone drank beer and just told stories like i do come fall. count me in. no youth yet. she's still too young. i'll try not to be a cardless Moog. No promises though.
  6. ....and like just like that the thread turned from an modestly cool hiking thread to a greenhorn expedition looking for the lost city of chickwannsalaya. hard to swallow that it might be found on a trip up there. lol
  7. competitive archery is just another thing to consume time. you have to make a choice to pursue it or not. sticking to local shoots and going with friends is the way to start and test the waters. no sense in traveling to all of them losing time with friends and family just for a trophy, IMO.
  8. i don't get southern tier often but i've had some decent beers from them despite not lately. if what you said is true that's too bad. i searched the place and had them look on the computer for beer from at least half a dozen breweries and came up empty handed. most were a hail mary and understandable. i haven't had much from evil twin. saus baus is good. like the ST beer, haven't had "tropical itch" in the photo but figured i'd try it. always trying new stuff. there's a lot out there.
  9. they're all too loud. or uncomfortable. i use a regular or tall milk crates left there with a foam pad i bring in to sit on.
  10. congrats on 4 more. that's the way to do it. have to make a good effort to get them done like your doing. it takes time and sacrificing other things to do it.
  11. Tough day at the office went for a mini quality beer run. Southern Tier in back is "3 citrus peel out" sounded good and I haven't had it. The shiny expensive tower of EvilTwin Saus Baus is the real prize though. Any EvilTwin fans? Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  12. Always been impulse buys with guns. Idk what the next one will be. I've realized it's cheaper to buy lightly used ones. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  13. Happy birthday. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  14. My wife loves that beer. She likes pumpkin flavor though. I picture you more a southern tier warlock kinda pumpkin beer guy. Old post I know. I'm trolling for options. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  15. Don't find it anywhere. Think wife and I are going for a run over that way. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  16. Hit the range this afternoon to check the chuck gun at 200 yards. Been at the farm toting it around. Still connecting but have to be on for longer pokes. Didn't bother cleaning it. First cold bore shot hit althea center dot on the shoot-n-c 3" sticker. So I just had fun hammering a few of them. I had stuck on the target. Was holding 1/2 MOA and under groups. 17. Did some more high fence fishing on the farm. Smaller bass were hammering whatever hit the water. Red worms or go lures. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  18. Beer, burger, with a side of scouting binos. Had a 2.5 year old sporting brows and tines. Fun to watch him out back in the beans while I eat dinner. Deer have been loving their dinner too. Bean pods aren't even developed and they are still chowing of them every night. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  19. Cleaning up the fridge past few days to make room. Not a bad beer though. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  20. Sweet Jerusalem cruisers. Haven't had that one. I'll keep it in mind. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  21. i haven't been going there very long. lexi who cuts my hair started working there so that's where i go now. lol
  22. yea they seem to often have a choice between the two. i go with Sam. last time i think it was boston lager.
  23. Rumors for Men in Latham. Ask for Alexis and tell her Dan Bugbee sent ya. Another good place is JCPenney salon in crossgates mall if you ask for Taylor. She's good too. There you won't get a beer or two though.
