  1. ....my previous list add a couple 54"x90" Realtree AP camo table cloths. i use them when involved in various deer related stuff putting on many educational events and setting up booths. i'm telling ya those things are expensive normally and hard to find! just over $20 each was what i paid.
  2. the kingston store isn't going away and will still be a Gander supposedly. however, all inventory is being sold off that can be and the store still closing temporarily. that's what i was told by staff, whether that's right or not.
  3. we get a very limited number of deer tags here, surrounding properties are doe factories, and there exists somewhat of a lingering reluctance to shoot doe. they seem to be plentiful in numbers. for us to maintain a balance through deer season we have to shoot adult doe only to fill antlerless tags. we try to take them early to prevent shed bucks being shot and not promote wasted buck effort. i'll even shoot a doe toting a button buck. more or less an adult doe is an adult doe and i'll shoot it as long a property needs some taken.
  4. it's disgusting how much water things like cantaloupe and watermelon take to do well. i don't do either for that reason.
  5. 223 is cheap. it's florida. a couple nice AR-15 with fragmenting 223 loads should do. full 30 rd clips. heck a drum mag would be even better. how that's not humane is beyond me. whatever gets away too far back in can turn into python bait. seriously it's crazy how back in early years of this country we could hunt something and wipe it out almost to extinction. yet today we've got all these problem species and hunting just simply won't work. either snowflake hunters or snowflakes that won't allow the hunt. just can't win.
  6. naaa.... it's no secret now that's for sure. I went to the one south of here (Kingston) because i was down that way. it was picked over pretty hard. a lot was 60% and others discounted off clearance for even better. i tried looking for a ton of christmas stuff but it was too picked over to do too much damage for others. Got multiple Gander brand shorts and shirts equivalent to the Columbia PFG stuff nice Irish setter rubber boots boat shoes for the wife (her sperry ones were still expensive) and i (under armour) athletic socks RCBS reloading stuff Ozone Go for the truck ($20) fishing lures ...i know there was other stuff but i forget what.
  7. Peppers always seemed like late to take off. Seems this far north we don't get real hot to make them do really well earlier. I don't have a greenhouse to make that any different. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  8. we've actually took the dozer one weekend and cleared a small wood lot around a couple stands. just the trees with the stands remained for finishing up the next outing. stands disappeared quick without a trace of anyone coming to get them. about as non-confrontational as could be. wished i could've seen a reaction to that.
  9. with all this rain, heat, and me feeding them i'm not keeping up with the garden. things are budding faster than i can pick them off to the keep plants putting energy into growth. some plants are obviously shorter or not as big. sure enough those i checked and they have got peppers, zucchini, and beans growing on the stalks. tomatoes are growing something fierce too.
  10. most adjustable pin sights are out then. react isn't a bad sight. lots of good affordable fixed pins out there with nice bright pins, some guarded. for the money you might be able to get 2nd and 3rd axis adjustment. axcel sights are out unless you shop online for a cheaper price.
  11. depends on what you're spending. Axcel sights are heavy duty too. React series of sights are pretty heavy. my next sight will probably be like a single pin adjustable but with 3 pins. HHA and others make them.
  12. your actions should be highly dictated by how close and often you're there. if it's a permanent stand built into the tree just pull it out. remove any tree steps, accessories, or built sections that can be removed and leave at the base of the tree. if you can't easily enough remove any of it then just cut down the tree. leave a posted sign attached to the tree. all of them should include sufficient contact info to get a hold of you.
  13. a previous co-worker found a gas station that was selling E-85 cheap. he filled up his tank on his newly leased non flex-fuel car and headed to his home. seizing his cars engine in the process. he knew he was putting E-85 in it too. saw another guy put diesel in his snowmobile too. scary to think some people exist out in the world, driving, voting, and owning homes.
  14. Dang out of popcorn. Be right back. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  15. I just mentioned those couple very basic things that will eventually cause problems even if you do all the other stuff or send it into a shop for routine service in the spring months. there's a difference between home owner grade stuff and more commercial grade stuff. for example my professional grade husky XP saw engine can be rebuilt a few times without hesitation. a husky lower grade saw engine can only really be rebuilt once before it won't do much good. raised as on a farm as the first born son of a farmer, grandson of a man who made his whole living owning a small engine repair shop, and nephew to a diesel repair shop owner/multi time super stock class tractor pulling champion I've learned a little about these things. all that said I don't disagree with you. complete and routine maintenance on any piece of equipment is a good thing and will add stress free years to your life.
  16. in all honesty I get more vulgar language then I text to people. i'm sure I've taught it some though. it's also possible it was just me being at work in an office full of guys, probably multi tasking, and frustrated with something going on. some days you or your phone just has to vent.
  17. If you talk to about any small engine repair shop they tell you that you get what you pay for. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  18. Damn. Reading through this I remembered zucchini had started to develop in mine. Forgot and haven't been out in days. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  19. Some day time show my wife watches had some thing where they have a limited number of something expensive they offer to lucky fans of the show at a heavily discounted price. It was supposedly a big PITA to get but she got me a high end Invicta watch. I love her more for the effort. Not a watch person. Where my 2 cheaper fossil watches daily and had one refinished. At an $800 price tag I'm afraid to wear this other one and have it get used and abused. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  20. this is what i do minus the keys to security cables or boxes. haven't need them ....yet.
  21. seems like that's rugged enough to hold together on anything stout not just buffalo.
  22. non-sense in the movie jurassic park 4 chris pratt used a 45-70 for dinosaurs.
  23. i've put attactments on cheaper line trimmers before and haven't had the best luck. work them to hard for the power and sometimes i've had the drive shaft twist to the point it eventually breaks. then it's special order. i currently have a cheap $90 weed eater that i use. i've had it for several years now. waiting for it to die and then i'll upgrade to a much nicer one made for attachements. i always have ran 91 non-ethanol with stabilizer in it and at a 40:1 premix. runs great still.
  24. At the farm right now. Got 3 more. One I popped upright on yhw side of a steep weeded knoll. Got over there and no idea where it flopped in the scope. I think rolled off the dirt mound down into some thick berry bushes below. These two were out in the hay though. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  25. It's unique in that I've never lost a deer with a bow. I have with a gun though. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
