don't fish much. i know nothing about these sized boats. my knowledge is limited to either little ones you can carry into small ponds or the kind you take out into the ocean. still buying a new boat is awesome. best of luck with it Rob!

How to properly season a cast iron pan
dbHunterNY replied to Bionic's topic in Game Recipes / Cooking
coat with veggie oil very lightly and bake. if you went higher for temp or not but i keep it low so the oil doesn't burn. also it should take a few shots for the best results. use too much and it looks alright but isn't as non-stick. during use that coating breaks down. metal isn't necessarily better years ago. i think most pans now are cheap and made with less metal. old pans with a thick heavy flat bottom don't warp, distribute heat better, and don't cool too much when you place food into it. when the pan isn't hot enough that's when food sticks and that seared surface gets stuck to the pan. also most newer average pans end up with a high spot in the middle which means oil and anything you're cooking in ends up only on the outside. -
I think my favorite was the first one brewed "drawn and quartered". Havent had a bad one yet though. They all are unique but well done. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

So I'm tinkering with what I've got. Bloodsport Punisher 350 are coming in at 415 grains with 16+% FOC. 50 gr brass insert and 100gr head. I intend on shooting them at out of a 60 lb bow so I'm right 280 fps and almost 6.9 grains per lb. Kicker us they're factory fletched straight or with a very small offset. Plus the bloodsport nocks are the worst fit. Too tight on string and too loose in shafts. GT nocks seem to fit them and my string perfect though. Guess I'll keep tinkering. Temporary probably until I redo the downstairs. In the utility room I finally setup a spot at the end of the bench I built to work on bows. Got bulk arrows and some stuff in the other room and more stuff in boxes under the bench. It's most of it. If anyone I need of anything let me know I probably got it and wont need it. Unless I'm broken I'll never be down and out during bow season. lol Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

I've hunted with 5 fixed pins years. Then 4 pins for a while. Then I went to a single pin HHA sight on multiple bows. Clean sight picture is awesome. It's a problem with one pin when deer dont follow the script. You have to know hold over or under which could be a lot or need to adjust on the fly which requires taking your eyes off the deer. I've got a 3 pin slider now; 20, 30, and 40. Pins dropped so top pin is centered in the circular housing with lots of space around it. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

It depends on what you're using it for. Ive seen and gone heavier and lighter FOC than 12-15%. I've definitely seen some go lighter than 12% for 3D and waayyyy heavier for trad hunting or indoor Vegas competition. From what I remember it seems ive got the best accuracy and forgiveness, even out past 50 yards, settling on something between 15 and 18%. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

I assume that means I can shoot all your bows and hunt all your stands so yes you can. Disclaimer wife and daughter broke into the basket again this morning. Couldn't even wait until lunch. lol must be worth it. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

Went over well with both the daughter and wife... as expected. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

but totally serious about the spear thing.

first thing i did with it was see if it'd stuff well in a leg cargo pocket and chest pocket. i never bring a pack with me even on public land or somewhere new. both it and sheath are so thin it leaves plenty of room to spare. i suppose you could get away with taking an inch off the handle and just have your pinky floating in air. blade i wouldn't want to make much smaller though. for years i've used those little lansky pocket folders i posted in this thread. seemed too small for cutting out the ahole and when quartering deer in the dark not in some barn or shop where you're setup to do so.

i don't recall for certain how many shells i can get in my 3.5" shotgun but 6 shells seems like a lot. i think it's just 4. i can fit (3) 3.5" shells in it. when you buy the tube extenders the capacity they label it for is typically for 2 3/4" shells though. so a 7 shell tube is good for (7) 2-3/4" shells.

yea doesn't really say it is by definition, sooo guilty until proven innocent here in Cuomostan!
-
not to burst your bubble but it's illegal to hunt game with a spear too... at least here in NY. hope you have quick feet and fast hands. careful going after anything with teeth or claws. lol
-
i wonder if it falls under that though. must be a definition because the intent was the "street sweeper" Call of Duty like shotgun. i have heard anyone having one of those though.
-
that revolver shotgun can't hold more than 5 rounds and doesn't have any features, so even if they consider it a semiauto with the double action you're good. not an "assault weapon"
-
shotguns are a little different doesn't get deep into the features like rimfire or centerfire rifles do. if it's a semi auto, can accept a detachable mag and hold more than 5 rounds then it's by their definition bad. if semiauto but can't except detachable mag then it can't have a 2nd grip on the forearm, pistol grip stock, folding or telescoping stock, thumbhole stock, or capacity over 7 rounds (tube extension). detachable mag screws you before features come into play.

only hunted a couple sections but lots more to check out. it changes a lot with all the controlled burns and work done to remove invasive species to a pine barren. hoping i can get out there.
-
i'm sitting in my office now looking out the window at the Pine Bush. it's cold and windy but man do i want to go out and do some scouting! maybe even find a shed antler.

i wished bucks around the farm died from old age. lol if you're in an area they can get old enough to drop some ignorance and stay alive then there might be some.

they'll both have a blast. only know of options on the Gulf though. sorry joe. good luck.
