  1. Yea you're not alone. My grass and weeds are brown from drought. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
  2. Talked to the rensselear county pistol clerk yesterday. Everyone with a type F (unrestricted/carry concealed) permit better brace yourselves. It could get rough. You won't be grandfathered in and still have to go through the same qualifications as someone who's newly applying for one. Written exam (80% to pass), social media accounts turned over and checked, and a live fire evaluation that quals haven't even been established yet. LEOs not exempt so I'm thinking it's when they aren't on duty and want to carry. All this happens September 1st when the law is written to go into effect unless they put a stay on it because they don't even have instructors for the evaluations selected yet. 3. My dad shot another one. He's probably got a handful this summer. Many are juveniles that are dispersing and digging up lawn and under structures around the barn yard. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
  4. You've likely saved thousands of dollars in doing so. That's all I do now but many are leftover or demo bows from dealers on ebay. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
  5. the ponderings of illegal to carry for mass transit (public transportation) i strongly think would be an infringement on their ruling. if you need to take public transportation at all while out you basically can't carry. SCOTUS said blatantly they can't restrict permit holders from carrying out in public. the places of business having to explicitly say they welcome fire alarms vs precedent of signage to excluding them is defaulting against public carry and toeing the line to go against SCOTUS ruling. If NY politics were smart they'd simply overhaul permit process and call that good. feel like we haven't seen it but SCOTUS probably has stuff up it's sleeve to flex hard if state law makers blantantly go against opinions/rulings.
  6. most of our farm is a hay fields that isn't ground we get multiple cuts off each field so it's a giant fawn factory. matriarch doe don't get along with bucks so many bucks pass through as they shift to their fall ranges. I hunt spots early in early season typically only in the evening and that are easy to get to. i use it to catch lingering bachelor groups or larger doe family groups. stick a some doe to fill the freezer early in the process. also check easy to access cams while out. two seasons ago i couldn't get an early doe in range to save my life. i passed a lot of bucks. finally did get a doe in range and it was a crazy rush, so i say why not get out there as long as you can still make it fun.
  7. fancy. looks good. definitely jealous of the SET system. My primary hunting bow that's now a Bowtech is old tech now. Tunability with these new bows to eliminate horizontal and vertical nock travel is more valuable than people who just casually shoot bows understand. bows can be so accurate now without messing shims or other pain in the A** stuff. In the past with nock travel you sometimes had to except you could stack broadheads or field points just not both in the same spot without opening grouping up a little. now you can literally micro tune everything to be in perfect alignment.
  8. happy anniversary eddie. ireland this fall should be a good trip.
  9. Juicy happy pale ale from a local brewery. They were open from 4pm to 7 pm. Showed up at 415pm and there was already 30 or so people. After I left the line was running across the parking lot. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
  10. Single Cut Green Plastic Watering Can.... straight topically sweet juice of a double ipa. Really no bitter finish. Wife drinking Ithaca tropical sour. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
  11. I have a black one without knobs. Well made stuff. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
  12. I've come to an easy solution. Buy new gun and request they also print new card removing restrictions. Kill two birds with one stone for those that don't have unrestricted. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
  13. My keeper til it breaks .....a Bruin Custom Huntmaster Express TD. Shot a borrowed one during a league yrs ago and finally found one to call my own. It shoots like a dream compared to even other really nice bows of others I've shot. Cast is better and draw is so smooth without stacking it feels 10 lbs lighter. Should probably get a couple strings for it, but still figuring out where it shoots best when I have time. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
  14. My almost 8 yr old daughter's bow... Hoyt/Easton K-bow 48" 15#. She's getting stronger but still a lot for her at anchor. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
  15. I've never given my trad bows a fair chance out in the field. Its not that I can't get deer within my comfort range or that I couldn’t get it done. When I take them out I feel like I'm in a different mindset. Content to just watch the woods vs being on a freezer filling mission. I might have to take sights off my compounds to make the recurves useful. Lol Bear Superkodiak (they sent me this new one after mine delaminated due to a factory defect. Ive had it a while but have barely shot it). More to come..... Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
  16. They won't. Uou have to pay to produce the permit card. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
  17. New bows are very efficient. I agree. A lot to be had with a new bow with light limbs. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
  18. Yea shoot your bow. Lol same applies into the season. Our season is long. Some practice preseason and then once season is here they stop shooting. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
  19. I can only imagine what they'll do to make getting the permit harder. Still definitely a win though and Alito is the man for throwing some haymakers at his liberal peers. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
  20. still a cool end to the journey with that deer. some just never surface again, no dead head found or anything. great job as usual.
  21. these things are definitely not new but a damn success story. everybody's got one! accept maybe Larry and I. after 13 years our grill is finally crapping out to the point i'm not replacing parts. Growing up as a very young kid my parent's designed our new house that had a counter with built in griddle in the kitchen. dad would always make breakfast. i might have to resist the urge to get one. it'll be hard not to have a grill though.
  22. no but the Maxima BLU RZ i shooting with my 3D hunter class bow that I've also used to take deer with. they seem to work well (accurate and consistent) and are durable.
  23. don't know how they work with the Glock barrels i've been told are different but i just ordered some seismic 185gr rounds. probably slow as a turd but hit hard. going to test them out on deer at close range this fall. 147gr self defense stuff is pretty solid though.
  24. thought about a 365 but haven't put my hands on an xl. are they still easily concealable? i feel like the longer grip would print easier? longer slide doesn't matter.
  25. had to do an advanced search to find this thread again. results came back from cementum annuli analysis. my 9 point buck was 4.5 yrs old.
