  1. i know of a some friends and family that are into cars and trucks. my cousin has a cuda. my uncle a chevelle ss. others have the newer muscle. the thought seemed cool to have a muscle car and still does. it's just not practical and not being into cars it wasn't something i considered. i grew up riding snowmobiles though and even "raced" when i was 3 yrs old at winter carnivals back when that was a thing. I got back into it and ended up with the snowmobile version of this car. lol others were plenty fast and fun but apparently not enough. my sled comes in at less than 3 lbs/HP. I'm old enough now not to be as stupid too, which helps justify it. i get it. awesome car.
  2. 2013 GMC Extended Cab 4x4 stripped down work truck was one of the best. i mean it better be otherwise i'll be pissed and looking for a new one. lol
  3. na..... it wasn't him. word on the street is it was all her. she she was known to blow a tranny. kpkot probably figured that wasn't something easily repaired.
  4. Not porn. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  5. should've bought a Weber fire pit.
  6. Red Sox it is. Can't wait for the photos.
  7. all my pistols are John Wick movie like stuff. Nothing to hunt with. Had an itch for a real small concealed carry pistol but honestly something i can hunt with would be nice.
  8. i have a Browning Abolt II stainless stalker in 30-06. it's finicky with ammo when it comes to accuracy but will cloverleaf shots at 100 yards with some factory stuff. seems not heavy but well built. haven't had any problems with it at all. taken deer from bow range out to just over 400 yards with it. piles of them at around 200 yards.
  9. i'm even thinking about putting stone or a pad around it too. plus i think it helps to gap the bottom blocks slightly to give air flow based on different ones friends and family have or had done.
  10. great buck Rattler!
  11. i've found the biggest of mature doe here in the foothills of the adirondacks weigh about 160 lbs field dressed even with some agriculture around. people around here shot 200lb dressed doe all the time before they started checking them in to the QDM co-op check station. i seem to get 40% of field dressed weight with a well placed shot that doesn't waste anything. we have a ton of 120 lb middle aged to mature doe that get shot so what you said makes sense to me.
  12. i'm over the metal fire pits that that eventually rust from the heat. once this garage gets done i'm building a stone fire pit. stone pavers are a PITA to set and not get hung up on chairs. i'm thinking about pouring, coloring, and stamping concrete to look like stone. otherwise it might be like the old house. pull up the sod, circular barrier around perimeter, ground grid in the middle, and add either #1 round or Pea stone. weeding is a PITA but not a problem if you stay on top of it with white vingear, Dawn soap, and Morton salt mix.
  13. living on a farm painting fence over and over with white barn paint, i say take cost/bill right on the chin and put vinyl everywhere. other part of me says save the baby seals and don't produce more plastic to end up in a landfill.
  14. I'm such a sucker for peer pressure. garage construction still has everything tore up. still the front I threw down some "Landscapers Mix" from Scott. We'll see how it does. Should've put down straw mulch but too cheap. Mowing continues. Plus I filled in several large holes. It being a foreclosure they may have set off sticks of dynamite before the original owners left. not sure what else would cause them.
  15. if you're near the Saratoga, Warren, Washington, or Rensselaer county area the Upper Hudson River Valley branch has some still left too.
  16. your will power is strong, you were joking, or you're going to get a ticket. lol
  17. shortest was 5 steps to a turkey on the ground. deer both from ground or from a treestand were something around 10 yards. longest was something close to either 413 or 425 yards (deer with forearm on rail and shooting sticks on the back butt stock). head shot was on a woodchuck at 312 ish i think it was (prone with a bipod). head shot for a deer was just over 200 yards (my zero, and with a solid rest). all distances were from a Bushnell or Nikon lazer rangefinder depending on how long ago it was.
  18. i managed to make it out once for 2 hours late morning. not that i didn't care to but my schedule and other stuff trumped turkey hunting. evenings i could've been out much more and probably gotten a bird or two.
  19. A beer from Mamaroneck, NY. Light and even watery. Still some citrus though and hoppiness from the double dry hop. Good beer. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  20. All he has to do is check 20 yard setting and then max out the clearance of the housing and wheel to check that. Same as you select the tape to begin with. Then you'll know if it's good, acceptable, or not close enough. Seems like you fitted everything up the best you can though. I'm definitely a fan of the idea and function. In my mind you need multiple pins for hunting. Guessing hold over can be practical but not very precise. Even compared to gapping between pins. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  21. i feel your loss NYC folk. i'll buy any of those Canada goose jackets off you for $50 ....so you're not at a complete loss. lol
  22. birdless this year and only made it out maybe 3 hours all season. i don't hunt any in the fall even if i have the opportunity so it looks like they're safe the rest of the year.
  23. every time i see your profile picture i get a chuckle because i know where the picture was taken and who's trail camera picture it was.
