10.29.16 pm Left the house just before 330. Walking the trail through the field and almost make it to the tree line and up jumps a deer to my right about 10 to 15 yards away. Scared the crud out of me but no shot and looked small. I high tailed it to the stand as I had a feeling the deer didn't go far. I was right because I saw it about 10 minutes later while I was in the lower stand. It ended up coming out of a thicket and fed under my upper stand for about 15 minutes and then it disappeared. Fast forward to around 545 pm. Two squirrels are messing around the field edge by my stand behind me as I am looking back into the woods. All of a sudden the leaves erupt and I look behind me and a deer is running at my stand bawling as it passes by me and then stops at 10 feet behind the tree I'm in. It was a little button buck and he did a complete 360 around the tree I was in eating every green leaf he saw. Never knew I was there even with the wind blowing from me to him. After taking pictures and a few videos of him, his head snaps up and looks back to the woods behind him. I reach for my bow and he bolts about 40 yards to meet up with 2 other deer coming to get him. Now it is 605, past shooting time and these 3 are right under my upper stand. I watched as they fed and made a few noises to get them to shoo without giving up my location and it worked. 10.30.16 am My buddy and I made it to both stands at 635 am. Still plenty dark and warm so not noisy, or so I thought. We split up and as I headed to the upper stand I could hear deer running away in the leaves. CRAP!! Climbed up and waited for light. 5 minutes later, I hear a deer blow twice in the direction they ran and knew it was not going to be a good morning. Tried some bleating and grunting with some rattling and no dice. Packed it in around 930. Have a new scrape opened up right in front of the cam. Only 27 pics overnight so I left the card til next time. Did get a nice 8 on cam last week but all nocturnal action. Will post a pic or two later.

Type something inside the box, then type some thing outside of the box. It should work and you won't be quoting him anymore. This happened to me on another thread but I can't remember how I fixed it but think I did the above actions.

Congrats that is awesome you were successful. Having a killer season thus far, it has to feel good.

Had first close encounter of the season this evening. Jumped one going in earlier and it was a little nubber. He came back two times until his Mom and sis came to get him. He was less than 10ft from the base of the tree.

Just got In the stand and had a small doe or button bedded 10 yards off my trail in. Scared the crap out of me when it sprang up and bolted.

10.29.16 am Arrived at the in laws at 630am and still plenty dark. I got my gear settled and headed in. I hate going in as I have to cross a field to get to my stand. I wasn't two steps into the tall crunchy grass and I could hear the deer trotting through the leaves inside the woods by my stands. I just kept moving and got up the ladder as fast as I could to get quiet. I hunt my bow and I can hear something coming at me in the leaves. I am perfectly still and a red fox walks right under me and I'm only in a 10ft ladder stand. Was pretty cool to see him sneaking on by. Only way I know he is red is I have cam pics of him. It was still pretty dark at 640 when he went by. I pretty much boogered up the spot walking in so expectations were not high and I wasn't disappointed. Sat til 915 as my son had a soccer game at 10. Getting my stuff together now and going to try an afternoon sit. Not much cam traffic in the afternoon but it's too Damn nice out to be inside right now. It's 59 right now. Crazy ass weather for sure. Will report live from the stand if all goes right!!

Great Buck Moog. Congrats. Bumped every deer in the county walking in this morning. Was crunchy. Just as I climbed the ladder stand I heard footsteps in the leaves coming at me. It was dark but I was able to see the red fox as he walked under me. Super cool. No deer spotted on stand.

Yes he's eating something. No apples on the crab apple tree so no idea what he's munching on. Fitting as I was sleeping in. Still disappointed but ill be out there this weekend.

Never saw this when it was first posted. Amazing that he was charged with 3 felonies and a few misdemeanor charges as well and he is still in business. Guess he had a good lawyer or maybe they figured he's 73 and it won't be too much longer. Either way, something is fishy, or venisony.

I love that Franks sweet chili sauce. We were discussing hot peppers today at work and I prefer a sweet hot rather than burn your throat and stomach HOT. My neighbor gave me some hot peppers and I re gifted them to a guy at work as he loves hot stuff. Gave him a Reaper, Peach Ghost, Joloka(sp) and a Scorpion. All sound wayyy too hot for me.

Holy crap guys, some awesome mounts and beautiful rooms. Congrats on all of them and thanks for sharing. Still waiting on a wall hanger, someday. I have a small collection of racks and a few euro mounts that are begging for a newcomer to take up some space on the wall in the downstairs family room.

If you go the 55 gallon metal drum route, be sure it is a food grade drum. You want to be sure it held food before and not some chemical that will affect your food after it heats up. Food for thought. Be sure to create a thread in the DIY section to show your progress if you do make one.

I stayed up late Saturday, actually Sunday morning as my wife and son didn't get home until 1230 am. The forecast was for 25mph winds with gusts up to 40. I did not get up. My buddy texted me around 10am and he shot a beauty 8pt And his Dad shot a 4pt. This is my buddies biggest racked deer and biggest bodied deer. Ran some errands and met my him at my in laws garage to hang and process the deer. Got both skinned and quartered in about an hour and a half with just the two of us. Had issues with the come a long so took a bit longer. Checked the cam from yesterday and should have been out there this morning. Pics below.

8pt from earlier pic I posted was shot by my buddy at 15yards. His Dad scored as well and shot a 4pt. Have them hanging at my in laws now. Went and pulled card on cam, so disappointed. I slept in this morning and had 2 doe and a gorgeous 7pt under my stand at 730 this morning and a beauty of an 8 was there around 3am so they are moving.
