  1. These where real popular before being discontinued. I bought a stash for my Triumph MZ but sold it last fall. I have 5 boxes of 50 ea .451 cal hp - 260 gr. Also have 7 boxes of .451 jpp - 300 gr. $20 per box. 1 -2 boxes ship for $5. 3 or more ship free.
  2. I'm opening a caramel corn stand when I get to Florida this winter. Willing to ship with a member discount.
  3. Good post Orion - real facts.
  4. I replied to your misrepresentations in detail on the other thread. Illinois is not an AR state - and AR is not qdm. Illinois 2.5's cannot therefore be "protected" by AR. Failure to understand the basics does nothing to validate an opinion that ar is needed as a blanket NY program. Failure to understand that
  5. I got it - "bow hunters good - gun hunters bad." OK. First - many gun hunters do not get an option of a doe tag. Illinois does not have AR. The AR they do not have cannot be the reason 2.5 bucks are passed. Education is one way - the other is tightly restricted access with conditions that make it healthy for the landowners and guide's income - not the deer. A fawn sired by a 1.5 is as healthy as one sired to a 3.5 or older buck all else being equal. The outfitters making money there and the other associated costs of being a "big buck state" keep a lot of locals from being able to hunt much of the local land. The outfitters make their money by tying up huge blocks of land for predominately out of state hunters. And lastly not everyone wants a deer head hanging in the house. I have never measured or mounted a deer and never will - just doesn't appeal to me and I am not the only one. While my personal decision is to hold for older buck and take some doe's. I do this because my area has a herd that allows this. I not and tags/deer where limited, I would hunt differently. Someone claiming AR is needed statewide as a blanket program - especially to make us like another different state - tells me that person is clueless to the what the statewide habitat and herd and hunter balance is like. They simply want it to be easier to kill a little older deer and want everyone else to support them in doing so regardless if the program they support is suitable or needed for any legitimate reason for the entire state.

Wild animals should never be livestock. Those that do so have no concern for the animal itself and most likely never have my respect. Sure that doesn't matter to them.
  7. Most farmers I know using nuisance permits also hunt and/or allow hunting. In fact, I cannot think of one of the several I know that don't. Only so many deer can be killed in the hunting season and sometimes it is not enough.
  8. Just curious if you know the stance of Charles Parker and the Columbia-Greene Sportsman Association concerning statewide AR? Thanks.
  9. I think they are either archery equipment or not. Get's far too complicated to break it up any other way. And I am a recurve hunter that supports full inclusion.
  10. Does the tax go in a separate fund for healthcare and education?
  11. Geno - your'e too young to remember the 60's.
  12. Obviously need a fork tax - look what they did to Rosie O!

It's stupid to think deer die in the woods?
  14. This is the post I was responding to above. Not sure how Jimmy's got in there.
  15. Not a record http://www.boone-crockett.org/news/featured_story.asp?%20area=news&ID=150
  16. Protest - nothing more. Ar is not needed where I hunt and would have little real effect. I don't shoot younger bucks because I am looking for bigger racks, but because I like seeing the older's ones. But I have no desire to be telling another hunter what he can shoot just to maybe make it easier for me. In fact, if I saw mature bucks every time out, it would be like having prime rib every night - not as special after awhile. A few of the AR supporters are genuinely motivate by the desire to see a more balanced age structure. But I feel the overwhelming majority who clamor for it statewide would never be heard from if they didn't equate it with making it easier to get a bigger rack/more points. For every AR supporter you hear talk about waiting for and taking a 3.5 or older buck you will hear 20 or more talk about waiting for a 6 pt or better with no concern about it's age. Somehow it's bad to shoot a spike or 4 pt that are 2.5 or less, but OK to shoot a 6 or 8 even though it may be only a 1.5. So if AR is forced into my area where little real difference will result, I will legally protest it. Educate for the right reasons - don't legislate for the wrong ones.
  17. Glad I could amuse you - now I can sleep. Thanks.
  18. Youth season and a earlier bow date where done at the same time. A point could could be made for the youth's to be upset that bowhunters where jammed into their time. Youth's, turkey, and other same game hunter's should band together to get the bowhunter's out of their time.

    No - same as Doc.
  20. I saw nothing in his post where he was out to prove being a top hunter. I pass on anything I feel is less then 3 1/2, but absolutely against mandatory ar here in 7J. Should they ever put it in here, every antler less tag I have will be filled with a button in protest.
