  1. I'm 61. My parents used to ask the same thing.
  2. If I shot one, I would just let the dogs take care of getting the meat off the bone.
  3. Shawn - I really don't understand if you are supporting reduction or not. Even with 500 ft, I seek permission for recovery from everyone in the area before the 1st hunt. Even perfect hit arrowed deer can sometimes make it 200 yards - and not a single bowhunter can count on perfect.
  4. They have been killing deer in parts of Florida since July.
  5. Yes I do understand the mentality - that is why I am asking what good a 30 yard set back is going to do if some one will not be able to recover the deer they shoot? To me knowing I will be able to recover is a make or break it decision on hunting a spot.
  6. You can hunt closer - just ask. How do you get permission to recover if they won't give it to hunt closer then 500 ft? Fact is if you are going to be bowhunting 30 yds from someone's house it is a question of when you will need to ask permission to recover - not if.
  7. Ok - 2 to 3 yd possible difference. Change to able on the deck - with no window to stop the arrow. Probably still not getting permission unless you ask before you shoot.
  8. Glad it's dead - would just let to conflict and deer not recovered. You can hunt 150 ft or closer now WITH permission. Chances are if someone won't let you bow hunt closer then 500 ft to them when you ask, they are not going to let you recover one on their property you shoot 30 yds from their kitchen table.
  9. Most single does have fawns - just not with her when you see her.
  10. What is a "narcotic's violator"? Is it the same as a drug dealer? Are all "narcotic's violator's" committing felonies? Does anyone honestly think a person(s) who smuggles narcotics into the United States, a meth dealer, a drug supplier, or gang members, etc cares about another gun law? And does this proposed law actually add anything to the 100's of gun laws we currently have?
  11. I think it is a great use for a compound.
  12. Every arrow is good. But the 1st is still the most important and if always a kill, the rest really doesn't matter. Grouping is great for setting up or changing something in you equipment. Also a good indicator of consistency in form when learning. Great too for 300 rounds. But hunting is about the 1st arrow.
  13. My thoughts are for hunters this time of year, groups mean nothing. The only arrow that matters is the first one.
  14. While I will only now shoot a buck I feel is at least 3.5, I hate the idea of mandatory AR. But if it happens where I hunt, I know my thought process will be - "I'm shooting as their is no doubt this buck is legal". It would never be - "I'm shooting as I think this buck is legal". Know your target 100% or don't shoot.
  15. Armed robbery - no. Felony theft - yes. Along with trespass and burglary.
  16. What's next? Have to finish my broccoli so I can have a piece of pie?
  17. Phade - you posted Not trying to argue, but still can't see how a shorter season would change the quality of the deer when the same number of deer are killed whether it be 9 days or 23? Help me.
  18. The only way to drain blood from the meat after the heart stops, is to soak it out. Any blood coming out of a hanging carcass is from the cavities and not from the muscle tissue.
  19. G Guess I am not seeing something. If it has no effect, how is it going to to give better quality hunting? If the same number of deer are being killed, what does it matter if it is 9 days or 23 days?
  20. If cutting them doesn't impact it, then why do it?
  21. Please post the factual data proving this. I would guess the % is high, but no where near 95.
