  1. you have completely missed it. YES cuomo Can compel companies to supply arms and ammo to the police, he just has to let them sell to the public. as far as inner citys police they do there job for service, pride and justice. however, if the city (im assuming bloomburg) or the state cant supply them with the tools to do the job, then find another job. (not the place to start with unions, pensions ect. ect. youll loose that aurgument as well) its not the cops lives that are collateral damage, its there jobs, my job, everyones way of life as we know it. its this apathy of its ok for them (gov.and agency) to have it, and standing in line to see what they give to us is acceptable, its ok for the gov and agencys to have tools to do there job, but we cant have the same tools to protect our familys and home which is why we work to begin with. let me tell it a different way. you mow your neighbors lawn, you park your car infront of his house. this goes on for a few years everything is fine. you buy a new car its yellow instead of blue, and your neighbor stops by and tells you to move your car because he dislikes yellow. are you going to continue to mow his lawn???? barret, olympic, and the others just decided to let the grass grow.
  2. so not only does the second amendment cover my right but nancy gave it to me in the first amendment as well? Thank you nancy!........dumb a**
  3. " you must pass the bill to find out whats in the bill" Nancy Pelose on obama care. hay maybe i found a tag line!
  4. in general small tractors are for farming. skidders are used for logging. both designed to do specific things. both activitys can be laced with safety issues then add in equipment not designed for the job at hand? it can be a fine line to walk. be careful! The closest thing to an all around piece of equipment is a tracked tractor, dozer or tracked loader. still has some safety concerns but is more flexible in many situations. jmo
  5. im with stone on this one the stroganoff is out of this world!
  6. looks tasty! never had it breaded. we smoke any we keep.
  7. gro im way ahead of the curve. im not even sure what facebook is! yep im showing my age.
  8. whats there to regulate? there is no differance between turning on my printer or turning on my milling machine. the law states i may build a firearm for personal use. now i prefer my milling machine, someone half my age will prefer the printer, and someone will simply hammer one out of the side of a washing machine. (yes it can be done, less skill required then the other 2 methods.) The only thing that is still controllable are primers and powder. always has been, always the biggest problem. The batf was concerned with them distributing finished receivers, they investigated found nothing illeagal. As with all things computer oriented what propells a technology to the next level is use, also known as the 'killer app'. the ironic part of this technology is its supported by the left (as obama stated in the state of the union speech) as the next great gadget. the driving 'killer app' at this time is printing firearms. makes me shake my head and laugh.
  9. ok doc this is how it works, and why olympic and others did what they did. cuomo tells state police to take out a crack house. crack house is known to be armed with top of the line black market whatevers. trooper on the ground takes his service piece thats had no service in many years and has only the 7 rounds of ammo thats alotted to them do to company boycotts. any smart officer and up is going to tell cuomo we are not properly equiped. you do it or get me the tools to do it. change would be made. now for the buisness side. there is no arms manufacture in the world that can keep there doors open without the 2nd amend. americans buying product 24/7 365 days a year.(yes the world ask tula, centry arms, norma, lapua, or any other international manufactor or supplier.) gov contracts are a nice perks but they are low margin. just alitte more then cost of manufacturing.(no product development money, no profit) so any time these laws pop up and prevent a company from selling their products to the general population they have closed the profits in that market. they simply cant afford to stay in ny. the publicity for olympic far out weights what very little profit the will get from ny agents. not police bashing, collateral damage of bad politics crossing corp leveraging.
  10. its not an insurance policy its a tax (supreme court ruling on obama care) so yes in that respect they can make you buy 'insurance'. now how that tax is used....taxes on firearms go to outdoor funds...thats the part they dont understand. they wont get the money. if someone explained that to them they wouldnt push this agenda.
  11. For a 30-06 the new barret mrad is a spectacular platform. the saiga 12 is a very reliable shot gun..... oh wait we cant own those anymore. guess ill have to suggest my ruger #1 for the -06, accurate and very reliable, and with the right recoil pad not bad to shoot. for a shot gun an 870 rem is very relible kick is mild (with normal loads) manageable with heavy loads. if your very recoil alert back the rifle down to a 257roberts or 25-06 good for everything in ny and much easier on the shoulder. maybe even a 20ga in the 870. my 13yr old daughter shoots trap with an 870 in a 20 ga and has done 3 rounds (75 shots) in an afternoon and not whined about it. just remember its about shooting form the proper stance and hold makes all the differance in the world.
  12. Biz may be taking a stand without knowing it. he takes his hunting money out of state. we have had this discussion already, but its one thing we can do. Canada went down this road once dam near bankrupted them. lets all get focused and do everything, letters, votes, protests, manufacture boycots, hunting in other states. EVERY gun owner is affected, every gun owner needs to be involved.
  13. this isnt comp insurance against theft of loss its liability against malice use. cost IS the issue. a back door tax. say you own 2 or 3 guns at say $100 ea per year. thats $300 a year not awful bad. however in my neck of the wood if you own 1 you probably own 10 or more. in some cases it could be 4or 5 thousand a year. And yes many many people in upstate own that many guns and more. and lets not overlook the other fact if you insure them THEY ARE REGISTERED!!!! one more pile of bs piled on top of us....
  14. First i would like to thank olympic arms for looking after their customer base and doing what they can to speak for we the people. second i hope the rest of the industry follows suit. barrett did the same in california but no one else followed, a very good jesture but hollow if no else participates. third, i support the police, local and state, encon as well but they are the government. these laws (safe act, insurance act) are being passed with complete disregard of my rights and wishes. i am collateral damage so do not ask me for sympathy for the government or it agencys when some one out side this declining state makes a stand and sticks up for me as the little guy.
  15. this star trek replicator is the next great leap in society. there has been inroads in many other things that will drive this technology to be very common in day to day life. car breaks? no more parts store, down load and print the parts you need. shatter a bone in an accident? no more pins print a new bone and attach. the problem at the moment with printing structure (tie rod ends, receivers, kitchen tables) is strength of the substrates. but rumor in the industry is that carbon fiber (or something like that) may find there way into the substates, then its game on! good luck tracing who printed the mailbox....
  16. if you dont have a fastrac in your area try the local airport. one of our areas fire departments still has an old IH truck in use. after every outing they fill it up at the airport.(no ethanol and high octane. very clean) other departments are using the canned gas at lowes/homedepot for there response equipment (saws, jaws and such) expensive but when you need it to start it does.
  17. southern tier taxidermy. next to the ymca in owego. i dont have there number handy but they are in the phone book as either southern tier taxidermy or lock and load sporting good. Ray (the owner) assured me someone will be there tomarrow regardless of weather. we want pictures when it done!
  18. very pooly written. the law states you cannot have a grenade launcher, pistol grip, barrel shroud ect.ect. but it does not apply to lever, pump and bolt. now a grenade launcher is an nfa class 3 device. NY is not an nfa claas 3 state. since this is the newest version of the law, does that mean a class 3 grenade launcher is now legal as long as its not attached to an ar or ak? goes to show you the jack **** that wrote this law didnt know the law to begin with, had no knowledge of the subject and left alot of NEW loopholes. now where can i get a launcher mount for my muzzle loader???
  19. patients is a virtue. overturning a law in the courts is a time consuming process. the filing from the nysrp is the first step in a very long battle. we need to show supports from letters and rallies from day 1 until the courts finish sorting it out. may be well beyond the implementation of the law, may even involve someone being arrested and going all the way to the us supreme court (like heller) dont be down on what is being done now. keep pushing the letters, keep rallying. what cuomo wants us to do is give up and forget. the more and longer we push back the better the out come for us. the 60th letter to your state senator or congressman or the 10th rally on albany in a year has a better chance of breaking them then the massive up roar now. be patient, keep pressuring.
