did any one else notice the pictures of the swat teams there? just about all of them had firearms that did not conform to the safe act. now how long do you think its going to be before the aclu or some other legal right org. decides to sue nys for killing the piece of crap with illeagle firearms? anyone want to start a pool on that?

i think what happens in ny stays in ny. if its face to face out of state its that states laws that apply. if its gunbroker it always been through an ffl. $25 dollars and up for an ffl transfer for gunbroker. $10 for a private sale? yea right. good luck finding an ffl that will do that.

ynn just had an update and showed the police in there proper situation gear. one officer was carrying a full tilt AR, collapsible stock, pistol grip, muzzle brake, and 30rd mag. i hope he only had 7 in it..........

Doc it's not isolated to your neck of the woods. even as recent as 5 years ago if you hunted in state land you better be there early every day of the first week or you may not get your favorite spot. having other hunters wonder by on state land or near by private was a daily if not hourly event. the past couple of years however have been very quiet. the number of hunters may be high but time afield is declining. the good to this is the piece and quiet of bow season during regular season. the bad is unless the weather cooperates the deer stay put, and deep.

He showed up to attempt to save face. His 'look at how safe my gun laws made the state' just fell apart. he has 2 choices now, go after the 2nd amendment harder, or change the subject. My guess is he'll change the subject in hopes its forgotten. Theres a presidential election coming up he has to continue to prepare for. This needs to be used against him,and now, to show the rest of the country what a self serving sleeze he truly is. He cant politically get into a debate that he may loose, so time to put his feet to the fire, so to speak, and expose him for what he truly is, a self serving, power grabbing sleeze bag.

I hope they take him alive, this way the public can see that its a mental problem, not a gun problem. our hopes and prayers are with all the victims.

these temp swing are messing with my sap run. tapped saturday after lunch, had to boil sunday evening (ran out of storage space). buckets barely have any thing in them now. with the cooling off at night and above freezing in the day i hope to have a long weekend of boiling!

2 rather large schools in broome county are looking to merge as well. the problem with merging schools here in upstate is the massive square milage some of these schools cover. its not uncommon for student to be on the bus for 45min to an hour. but its good that some of the schools that cover the same realestate are looking into way to cut costs.

in many areas assesments are not in line with actual property values. much of central ny was reassesed during the bubble, when the market crashed, values dropped, taxes didn't. Did taxes cause the collapse? in some areas it may have played a part. at this point my tax escrow is more then my mortgage, so yes when i purchased in july the bank was more concerned that i could afford the tax than the mortgage.

pay to play dosent mean each kid has to cough up. I remember while i was in school 2 years in a row, the sports boosters club had to raise the money for football, wrestiling, and lacross, (school only budgeted for soccer and basket ball) and the music boosters raised enough money to cover 3 separate travelling/competing bands and 1 color guard. so the pay to play simply states if you want your kids to participate, get out and run fund raisers, not raise taxes.

the thing about the neon was the chassis was pushed to the limit with the stock 110hp. the added 90 or so simply makes it fun to drive!

A 10 round clip in a 10/22 has less damage potential then an 870 with a 5 round tube but the 22 is illegal? yep just trash. This post still makes me laugh everytime i read it!

But you cant operate in north korea with out china's support. air strikes are not even an option with out provoking china. so we put on our big boy pants, bomb the heck out of the nuke plants without china's consent, if china decides that we were incorrect, they can 1) simply take over, north and south 2) call on sanctions to the U.S. which could include calling on our debt to be paid or 3)simply take the side of north korea and retaliate in there defense. All 3 options are viable and not good from our point of view. We would not allow another super power to operate on our borders (cuba) so why should we expect anything less from china? China has come along way in playing the diplimatic game so we simply can not dismiss them. china will have to lead in changing the ways of north korea.
