  1. kinda funny how the NRA sides with the guy (Romney)who has done more to hurt gunowners rights than Obama ever did? Romney was quoted as saying he is proud of Massachusetts stricted gun laws(dont deny it i will post him on you tube vids sayin it) and even signed the 2004 assault weapons ban in that state. he has also fee'd and taxed the hell out of law abiding gun owners and hunters in that state. kinda makes me think that the NRA is full O crapolla???? and it doesnt really matter to the NRA what your record is on guns as long as your a Republicon, i believe the NRA has been bought and payed for. and the only thing Romney can guarantee us now is that he will not sign any new GUN laws. the snake says nothing about ammo restrictions or mag bans, fees, etc, etc.
  2. ive been hunting 3j where AR first started in this state some 6 or 7 years ago now and can honestly say the bucks are getting huge. been seeing more 8s 9s even 10s in the last 3 years then i have ever seen hunting here. this area was dubbed the land of the spike buck before AR and if someone even saw a 4 or 6 it was rare. it takes time, we didnt really see results until 4 years or so....be patient it will happen.
  3. heres paw last turkey season....
  4. might be a foggy morning. this fella popped up in my trail cam the other day, found my cam on the ground and i realized something was up....
  5. you can hang hotdogs in a toaster while also toasting yer buns.
  6. i would like to hear where all these hogs are. how bout a hog log...
  7. yea Old Bill and we would have to find another reason to sniff the glue!!
  8. not trying to be ole cheapy here but at a non sale price of 50 buckerenoos for only 6 is alittle steep. great concept though..
  9. Hot spots on public land all tend to change when hunting season starts and hunters are stomping thru the woods, so it doesnt pay to be too close to another hunter just to be near a perceived hot spot, especially during rifle season. Deer tend to take a day by day approach once they realize they are sharing the woods with humans...
  10. the only way that buck could be less than 150 is if he has an unusually small body which could be hard for someone other than yourself to judge. I,ve sized blackbear by looking at where they stand in a pic then compare that to a tree which is close in the pic and have come pretty close. But im pretty sure that being a NY buck with a NY buck body hes a 150 or better. iffen he was a Florida buck with a 90lb body then he would only be a 110 or 120inch... Best thing to do is shoot him then take the measurements....lol!!
  11. are you allowed to shoot at them? seriuos question here...
  12. i had to ship back my T/C venture a couple months ago for a trigger recall. i brought it to the PO and off it went no problem. got it back 2 weeks later. T/C sent me the shippimg label and paid for shipping insurance etc. i was surprised i didnt have to take it to an FFL.
  13. never saw anything like this and i have hunted state land for years.
  14. piece of thread tide to my stabilizer.
  15. never had one climb my leg thankgod but have had them climb the tree i was hunting in and sit there threatening me.
  16. i was talking to an elderly women (late 80s) about a year ago and she said with a grin, kids aren't any differant today then they were when she was a kid. She went on to say we smoked, we drank, alot of us even smoked reefers and did opium or herion, and ohh we also had alot of sex!! as for the original poster talking about the young lad running from the 2 frisky females i can assure that isnt the norm, theres more sex going on umongst Americas youth than you could even imagine..
  17. so your not a crossbow person but now you wanna use one?
  18. did you check your plug wires to see if there is arcing, do it in the dark with engine running. could be a mouse or chipmunk nibbled on a wire, look for nests under plastic engine covers, or could just be age of wires. i see this all the time.
  19. My point exactly, its not that complicated to set up a bow and can be done with some simple house hold tools, The way i do it every year. Not sure what your attempting to prove but i can set up the average bow in an hour, been doing it for years. but when it comes to shooting and practice there really arent any shortcuts for that. If you have some please fill us all in?
  20. Here it is less than 2 weeks from the beginning of bow season and i personally know of several bowhunters who blew shots and also wounded deer last season claiming they are fully ready to hunt opening morning and they havent even SHOT YET?????? i have been fidgeting with my bows for weeks now and shooting for the last 2 months every chance i get and i feel like the oddball here? And can someone explain to me how a so called bowhunter can grab a bow without even checking for string stretch after a year and just shoot it without checking for square or to even see if all those little screws are tight?
  21. yea at first it sounded like a good idea that would open additional hunting opportunities for down state hunters, but after listening to the views on this forum im kinda glad it never went thru. 50 yards would be fine in an imaginary world where every hunter was totally responsible and had a brain, but unfortunatley thats not the real world.
