I have not had that one, but Stags Leap is usually Top of the Line stuff, can’t go wrong!

Have you stopped at any of the bourbon distillers in Kentucky? On that trip, we stopped at Jim Beam, my friend has been to Woodford Brothers. Nice detours for sure!

How does Pigeon Forge look after last years fire? We were there 3 years ago and it was a zoo. Didn’t find peace and quiet until we went into the National Park.

Just opened this bottle while a venison roast is in the oven. Look for followup in What's for Dinner? Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

How does the shoot work, do you go and run through a set of 3D targets? Bad weekend for me as of right now.

No, I have not heard that. That’s hilarious!

The 19 crimes is an easy drinker for sure. Goes with everything, or even alone.

Thanks, I’m trying to hold it like a chipping wedge, just enough to not drop it. (But i was never very good at golf....) I’m keeping my middle, ring and pinkie fingers tucked around the grip, but really just wrapped around, no pressure or hold at all.

I believe it draws at 52 pounds. I am using same breathing techniques as when shooting with a gun, being sure not to hold my breath.

I’ve been back 3x to shoot, I’m trying to go twice a week while i can bug out of work a little early and be there to shoot from 5:30 till 7pm or so. April and May will be very busy months for me, but I’m hoping i can shoot at home by then too. They have a league every weeknight from 7 to 9. Of course, I am not seeing a lot of consistency yet, most of my shots are within 3 to 5 inches of the X in the center of the bull. My groupings are about a 10” circle. Once in a while an arrow goes wild, or i lose my hold on the draw and have to let down. I can definitely feel my right arm muscles after a few rounds. Not sore, but I feel it. I just need to build those muscles up more, that’s all. Sometimes I shoot at the 5 small targets, sometimes I shoot at the 1 larger target and try for the tightest group i can. Just depends, i like to mix it up. For fun tonight I marked my 6 arrows -1,2,3,4,5,6 - and depending on the arrow number i pulled out, I would shoot at the designated target 1,2,3,4,5,6. If anyone has suggestions on target games or drills, let me know. I am concentrating on my posture, stance, anchor point and level of the bow. It’s a lot to do in a few seconds, but I feel like I am doing it more naturally with each shot. I plan to sign up for the bow hunting class, but the registration for a nearby class does to open up until March 18th. Having fun with a new learning experience and do appreciate all the encouragement!

It was such a nice afternoon, I came home early from work to check cameras. Of course, sun disappeared and it started raining during the last half. Better than at my desk though! I have this pic of the buck as well as a video of him on 2/14, still holding. I am not happy to see this fisher on my property. I have heard nothing good about them. Except maybe they cut down the squirrel and chipmunk population quite a bit.

I was at Pastabilities a few weeks ago and ordered the Riggies. They were hot, but hot to the point of ruining the overall dish - none of the other flavors came through - just heat. And I like hot spicy food just fine, but it was way overdone.

Yes. I don't plan to make adjustments for quite a while! Just going to shoot as often as I can. One nice thing is he opens at 5pm and leagues don't start until 7, so the place is pretty much empty. I plan to set up a outdoor target at my house too. A basement target is a possibility as well, just need to rearrange a lot of stuff and make some sort of backdrop for any of those errant shots. I just ate at Cortese Restaurant a couple of weeks ago, it was very very good. I had a veal entree which was great, but the pizzas going by looked really good too. My cousin and my brother both have been there several times and say it is one of the better Italian Restaurants around, not just in Binghamton area. Not too far off 81. The street address is 117 Robinson Street.

I went to Wildwood tonight and shot 40 or so times. After some adjustments by someone experienced I was hitting paper in decent groups. I did have 3 bulls, so I would say this was a successful first outing. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

Thanks everyone for the encouragement. Ok, I do have a question regarding “sighting in”. When I sight in a shotgun I put it in a solid gun rest and shoot at a target , usually 50 yards. When you sight in a bow - do you just shoot as normal? I don’t think Ive ever heard of a bow rest for this. It seems that even a slight movement of my right arm would cause the arrow to be off the target aim point. My arm is just not solid enough. How would you know that the sight and arrow rest and peep were all in alignment correctly? PS: I’m a month shy of 57 - hell of a time to pick up a new hobby, but better late than never.
