  1. I guess you're reading a lot more into his posts than I am, Shawn... Have a good day ! I'm gonna go organize my 33 year old jockey shorts...
  2. A number of the northwestern counties are roosters only... I believe that is because there is still a significant number of wild birds in that area.
  3. Nope....I ATE all of those....
  4. I'll send you my "favorite pair" and you can have them carbon dated...
  5. I am a self proclaimed godless heathen... Although wolc 123 refers to his faith often, I have not seen him "pushing" it on anybody else.. As long as he doesn't preach to me ( and I have not witnessed him preaching to anybody) he's OK with me.... I think it's rude to deride a person because of his religious convictions UNLESS he is deriding other people because of thiers, or their lack thereof... wolc 123 has not done this to my knowledge...
  6. OOOOOOO ! Fine sippin' whiskey you have there, Pilgrim..! I also love knives, although I'm not the connoisseur of blades that you are...
  7. Thirty TWO..?? Holy CRAP, I've got UNDERWEAR older than that !!! Happy birthday, Kid !!!
  8. Until you've done it a couple of times, it's hard to accept the idea that in order to KILL one, you've got to chase them away..lol... As Chris says, it's important to bust them in as many directions as possible, because if they all run off or fly off together, they'll quickly regroup and leave the area. Once you get a good break and have turkeys calling and approaching you from several directions, you'll be a believer.. It's pretty exciting and about as much fun as you can have with your clothes on..
  9. Bust the flock....Run at them..Holler.... Shoot over their heads..Several times if necessary...Get them to fly off in different directions...Sounds to me like you're being too subtle and trying to finesse the birds.. IF you get a good scatter, it won't be long before the birds will start to call to regroup....I generally try to assembly yelp like an old hen....

Paula, Darlin'....I'm looking for a polite way to ask you... Well, here goes.... Has anybody ever complained that you have BAD BREATH..??...

I knew a girl once who didn't fart... I asked her out on a date, but just as I was pulling into her driveway to pick her up, she exploded..
  12. Same reason I'm thinking about using my CZ 550 9.3...Last thing I shot with it was a New Brunswick moose in 2004... Rifles have FEELINGS too, you know.....
  13. I think you could use the two bullets interchangeably for years and never see the difference..I'd use whichever shoots the best for the confidence factor..The deer will never know the difference..
  14. I'm out of 120 TTSX myself, but I have 43 rounds loaded up, so I guess I'm OK for THIS season...<<GRIN>>... I'm thinking about taking the 9.3 out this year, just to get it some exercise..Haven't shot anything with it in a long time and I have some 270 grain Speers loaded up that might go stale if I don't use them...

A friend of mine ran an elk camp in Colorado for many years... It was a tent camp and they always dug and set up a latrine...In the latrine was a jar of Noxema... The only rule in camp was " No double dipping in the Noxema jar"....
  16. I like my meat so that a good veterinarian could get it back on it's feet in about 5 minutes.
  17. You're Dyslexic ? Did you hear about the agnostic, dyslexic, amnesiac ? He lay awake all night wondering if there really is a dog....
  18. Happy anniversary, Growie... It's quite an accomplishment...I'm happy for you and Mr. B.
  19. I have a NoExcuses 460 that I found on the off side of a bull elk's ribcage...Prettiest perfect mushroom you ever saw.
  20. Great bull....I'm envious as hell... I've too old, fat and poor to do that anymore, but I'd love to go one more time...
  21. I'll have to check out that Prussian knot... I've always sworn by my old favorite, the double, step-over Japanese cock knot, but I'm always willing to learn something new.
  22. Dan, glad you found a good combo for your rifle... I shot PRBs for a lot of years out of my old TC Hawken and was pleased with the performance on deer..A few years back I drew an elk tag in CO for the MZ season and wanted a heavier bullet.. After some amount of research, I tried the NoExcuses .50 cal.460 grain conical... It loads easily, and shoots lights out, even in my hawken with the 1/48 twist...Also shoots surprisingly flat..Many western hunters use them in their inlines for 200 yard+ shooting... I push mine with with 80 grains of loose 777 in my hawken, and now use them instead of the PRB for deer..They are fairly cheap, too..Last box of 50 cost me about $35 including shipping from Utah... Just another option, should you ever be looking for one.
  23. I skin my deer the same day I shoot them...The skin comes off much easier when they're still warm, and getting the hide off allows the meat to cool faster...
  24. I don't load pistol, but in my rifle rounds I load them as fast as I can safely and accurately, and they perform great..
