You'd want to be sure than the meat was well wrapped, however, because the horns and cape STINK to high heaven... Also a good idea to have a cooler with ice in the vehicle while you hunt...My first hunt, on the advice of a friend who had hunted them many times, all of our animals were skinned, boned and on ice within an hour of the kill..Meat was excellent...On the second trip, some of the guys decided it would be OK to throw a couple of bags of ice in the body cavity and drop off the unskinned carcass at a processor at the end of the day...I chose to donate my meat on that trip, but the guys who brought thiers home said they wished they had donated it....

Hehehe..An old gentleman ( even older than me) who was my neighbor kept live traps around his house for chipmunks ... I once met him on his 4 wheeler with a chipmunk in his trap..He smiled and told me he was taking MR. CHIPPY over to his pond for swimming lessons......

I know...I swear at you when you go blasting past me and dam near swamp me.....hehehe...

You might be surprised at how far away a handgun with shotshells will kill a chipmunk..I have been killing them with my 6" BBL S&W K22 at a good thirty feet...Have not tried the .38/357 yet..

Your BIL is damn near as good looking as I am.....I don't want to ride in any damn boat at 62 MPH, though...My 14.5 alumicraft with a 30 Honda does about 28 MPH top speed, and that is plenty fast enough for this old country boy..Hehehe..

NO...I don't think I have been trout fishing since that day I fished with you... I know it will catch fish, though, due to that black/purple/chartreuse dressing....

Did the Penn Yan thing again yesterday....Fished about 3 hours and filleted 45 slabs....Should be good for a couple more weeks...The thing that surprises me is that there are so few people fishing for them...

If there is, you probably know it, My Friend....You are heads and shoulders above me as a fly fisherman, and That's not just because I am short...<<GRIN>>….

I do paint eyes on them, more for asthetic reasons than function...They still catch fish just fine after the paint gets chipped off and the heads are plain lead colored...I call them " Stevie Wonder" jigs....Being a light tackle guy, I fish mostly 1 /16 and 1/8 oz. for bass, landlocks, browns and panfish..For heavier duty work like lakers and northerns, I fish 1/4 oz. to 1/2 oz sometimes tipped with a 4" ripple rind... For walleyes, I generally fish 1/8 oz.to 1/4 oz. tipped with half a crawler...

But only if you want to catch big trout on dry flies...

Jed and Jethro used to shoot flies off the front gate at their place in Beverly Hills...Of course, they didn't consider it a challenge unless they shot them on the wing....

Hair jigs, tied by yours truly....Colors may vary, but it is hard to go wrong with black or brown, unless you are fishing for salmonoids that are feeding on shiny baitfish, in which case white or yellow may work better..

I'll skin a skunk any time, but I'd have to think awhile about skinning a porcupine...I probably could come up with a way of doing it without getting pricked TOO many times....Hehehe...
