Would see at least 1 every year hunting NY / PA border. I now see 1 or 2 on my property every year in the Catskills.

Are you sure your kill / safety switch is not in the off position.

Did you have every opening plugged up before putting it away, as exhaust , air inlet ect. Mice love to go in them.

Ha, talk about being frustrated, have not seen a buck this year in person or on the cams.I go out after lunch today to try to straighten out my ground blind.which was collapsed and pull the cards on my trail cams.Wel, the ground blind collapsed from the rain we had a few days ago which changed ti snow and froze 1foot thick x 2feet wide. Have to go back with a hammer. Pull the cards from the cams, come back to the house an play them on the computer, One cam 15 minutes before I get there a 6 point buck comming straight to the blind, The night before on another cam a 8 pointer sniffing the ground, I guess the Does are in heat this week.

A few years ago I shot a 4 pointer , then legal where I live, waited till the following morning to find it , 20 degrees that night, found it not far from were I shot it,gutted i and it stunk like hell, called the local ECON officer and he said this deer was shot a few days ago by someone else .We could not find any other exit holes then the one from mine, looks like some one was jacking with a 22 caliber. As you said Green flesh and hair pulled out when you touched it.

Here is a reply for the last 2 post. It was colder today then it has been for some time. When did you sight your firearms in ?.Metal moves with different temps. Steel receiver and aluminum scope mounts they move more then a steel receiver and steel scope mounts.Try to sigh in at the temps. you are going to hunt and wear the the same thing as when hunting.Use blue locktite or nail polish on all mounting screws.

Had 3 doe and a button buck come as close as 20' from the popup blind this morning.Even wearing an orange hat I did not get busted. Little chilley for this old man, 21 degrees with NW winds gusting to 20mph. Not much shooting going on around here seeing that it is opening day for gun. Grow.Did you get a Flew Shot yet ?.

I live in the boonies no need to travel , acres and acres of DEP and state land 5 to 10 min. away if I want to travel.

Deer were feeding this morning,spotted them at 6: 00 am went I went to eat, 7;00 they were still there feeding until my neighbor started there car to go to work, They know bad weather is on the way,stocking up on the food.

Powder was from some 357 Sig ammo. I had left over, II just used about 1/3 of a case ,then cow , then sealed it with an 1/8" of cotton ball,and another 1/8" of bees wax . Ran a patch threw after every 5 shots. 13 twist bbl. was from another combination, which I shot 55 and 65 grain bullets,I know 87 gr. is at the ragged edge but I sighted it in with them and the 65 and 75 grain were very close. Not going to shoot over 100 yards anyway because that is the limit on my property, safety in mind any other longer shots would be up hill which I do not like to do.

Years ago you might be too young to remember but you were allowed to shoot a Dog chasing a Deer during Deer Hunting Season in NYS. It was changed because it ( the dog ) might be someones pet dog.

Shot with a bow ( during bow season ) Dispatched with a gun ( during gun season) ?. Depends if you need a Reg. season tag for another Buck or not ?. Question is that X-Bow tag a MZ. loader/ X- Bow tag or just an Archery tag ?.

That was my thought on using the 87 gr. Partition. Going to have it out this coming Sat. The BBL. was from an older setup I had for Yotes. 6mm different caliber. Just a pleasure to shoot thou.

Finally got a chance to sight her in today Remy. blueprinted short action heavy recoil lug,custom 1 in 13 twist BBL.X 24" long ( made for 55 to 85 Gr. bullets ) H&S stock, Rifle Basics trigger, Piller bedded and floating BBl. After sighting in at 100 yards with 87 Gr. Nosler Partition. I shot 65 Gr, V-Max + 75 Gr. V-Max + 85 Gr. Berger Match and the 87 Gr. Partitions. All were inside of a Nickle size hole. Also tried 100 Gr. Win. factory ammo , It was off , on center but 3" low. Cases were fireformed first with, cream of wheat and pistol powder. Not he hottest loads for each bullet either.

It is illegal to shoot a dog during hunting season,I guess this guy is not up to date with the NYSDEC laws or does not give a S#*".
