If you ever did any surf or boat fishing in October and November you would know what to buy. A good base and top layer and Real rain gear , Not that gortex garbage , I had a set of top notch gortex jacket and pants and threw them out , Not real rain gear And it does not have to be a Camo pattern, I have had deer walk up and eat 10 feet from me wearing Bright Orange in the rain. -
Grow. you need one of these, Use the new toy as much as you can, They will get use to the sight and sound of it. I had a doe walk up 10 yards from me opening morning, a tree in the way prevented a clear shot, I rode up 15 min. before that on my ATV which was parked 10 feet from my blind, Did not bother her at all. Later on I went to pull a card out of the cam which was 75 yards away and the time stamp shows that She and her 2 fawns were feeding there before she walked to where I was.

Yea, even the fawns lost there spots and are wearing there black winter coats.Something is brewing.

Congrats a great N.Y. Buck, I saw a 10 like that years ago and got so excided I missed it wit 2- 30-06 shots. Nice.

Bill, I bought a Barronett 350 I am close to 6' and I can stand up and draw my bow no problem, windows can be opened small to large and you can open the screens.nice and roomy.I had an out house and dog house they do not compare to it. They are all made out of a cheap material.If you read what I wrote on your opening day thread on the Bowsite,Youwillsee how close a doe came opening day.

Next , Monday threw Friday = Good. The 16 th. good, 21st. good, 22 nd., 23 rd., 24th. Excellent . 25 th. - 27 th. good. Going by the Moon and the weather. If you look at the weather for the next to the last week of this month it is going to be nice and Cool.

You christened it already,great, I was moving tree limbs from the trees I cut down today, Only had to use my little trailer behind the ATV, I been looking at one of them for the future. Enjoy it.

At one time I belonged to a hunting club on L.I., N.Y. There were members there that spent $$$$$$$ hunting in Texas, Iowa, and Ill. At he club they scored with larger racks and bigger bodies then in the other states they hunted,they just said no more plane tickets , motel or hotel fees.Just a 1/2 to 1 hour ride and hunt for 4 months out of the year .The Long Island deer feed on Potato, pumpkin and acorns not just leaves and bus on trees.

I have had deer come as close a 10 feet from me in the rain,on the ground , wearing a bright orange poncho. They still gotta eat to fatten up for this up coming bad winter. Notice even the fawns lost there spots an are wearing the winter coat.

Make a cast of it out of pl. of par. and compair it with others later on.

Snow means Cold , deer will be looking for food to stay warm as long as it is so deep that they are burning up energy to get to the food. A lot easier to pick them out in the snow , You can track them easier in the snow, If you shoot one you can track it's blood trail easier in the snow, Too many pluses.hunting with snow on the ground.

And how many of the other states allow Baiting ? Show me a 10 pointer that weighs over 300 pounds like the one on L.I. NY. plus the one just east of the Gilboa Dam upstate N.Y. from there.

Hell yea that's a shooter go get him even if you have to get there with a walker or cruchers . Did the doc. give you any meds. to keep the swelling down. We had a local fellow that is a paraplegick ( notice I can't spell ) wanted to get a buck, a they wheeled him out in his wheel chair to a spot he was watching on his cams. and low and behold he got a very nice 6 pointer.

Good idea, but I never had any luck with the shopping bag of calls that I gathered threw the years. On attracting Deer that is. But I did once while Turkey hunting and a Yote. circled around me. And another time again with Turkey calls with blow up decoys out, had a spike buck charge and knock the decoy off of its stake. Maby should take a turkey call with me tomorrow.

I have fletched many arrow shafts cedar, aluminum and carbon , some on the shaft and some on wraps on the shaft. If all the parts are cleaned properly and useing the correct adhesive, you should not have a problem with the fletching coming off. I have recently got into buying the shafts fletched by the company I buy them from and had no problems with them either.

When we hunted a friends property on the side of a mountain which had trails to get up pretty high to level ground, I asked how do you get an animal down from here. He took me to a spot on the side and said we tie them up with the head tucked inside and roll them down the side , which wound up in his neighbors property. He said we did 2 bears and 5 deer that way.

I still do not understand why people shooting a bow think that the have to shoot groups as if they are shooting a firearm. Arrows are not cheap and replacing fletching and nocks are not also, Most targets are 16" or 18" square, you can easly fit 4 0r 5 3" dia. circles in that space , why not try to put an arrow in each circle ?. In stead of all in one circle.

Opening week we will be on the front side of the moon. Between (New and Full ) should be good hunting.
