I have had my cams out all year and have yet to get a picture of a Buck yet. One spot usually gets at least 2 hanging around. For the amount of fawns around there has to be at least a spike around.
-
Is this a house cat or a young bobcat, have heard a bobcat calling in the night but there has been a house cat wandering around also , looks a little chunky to be a house cat.

80 degrees and the leaves are dropping off the trees like crazy.

I still say once you reach 65 you should not have to pay school tax. And the Star refund is not anyway near what I pay for school tax with no children or grand children where I live. And don't get me started on the ladies (if you want to call them that ) that had a number of children and did not get married so the could get child support and not have to work. And they get money to help send the children to collage. And to top it off a good part of the children's fathers live with them to boot.

What I wrote was True some were caught and fined but most got away with it.Lived there for 60 years and hunted there for 45 years. And living where I am for 10 years. And I do not BS, everything I say is the truth like it or not.

That has been going on on L.I. for as long as I can remember,The south shore state and county parks and ones along sunrise highway were very well known to poachers. Not for the meat just for the racks to sell or brag about,22's with silincers and bows were used at night with spot lights, shoot the deer cut off the heads and gone.Another one was hit them with a car or truck and say the deer jumped out in front of them and get to take the deer on a permit.Nothing new down there.

As I said in another post Mine are 45 years old and look and feel like new, first clean after use,jet a hair dryer heat the leather up with the dryer then put a good coating of Snow Proof or Mink oil on them wipe the excess off before they get cold. And you are good for the hunting season. -
Thermos full of hot apple cider, PJ sandwiches and an apple . Deer love the smell of them too. There is a long story to prove it.
-
What you want for a base layer is something with a open weave as ( fish net weave ) the best then any open weave polyproplene material it does not smell like polyester material. Cotton just holds moisture. Then a good wool or merl. wool on top of that. If you have to walk any distance to your stand UA Just smells when you get there ,not doing the job.

Mine are 45 year old Sorrel pack boots, with 3 pair of felt liners and still like new.So for some things it pays to spend a little more.Nothing worst then cold feet at the freezing temps.

They go threw the DEC school / then go the the NYS police school { same as a trooper ) from what I have been told. Many are hunters like you and I , But can bust your chops if you brake the Law.

X2,I do not own any sent blocker clothing,Wash every thing in un scented soap all year long including myself. Sorry ladies but I cannot stand the smell of perfume it gives me a headache.Just sprinkle a little baking soda in the parts that sweat, that will keep the odor down.

Dang, just looked up the weather for 1 st. week of October, Warm in the 60's. if we get that big doe for the freezer it will have to jet cut up and packaged right away. Or what we did in the past gut it and fill the cavity full of bags of ice. -
Grow. Get more the 1 surgeons opinion, I had another problem worst then a meniscus ,went to the hosp. of special surgery in NY city got an opinion from them, It wound up that my reg. surgeon was one of the best to do what had to be done.A month later I was climbing hillsides in the Catskills. And that is no BS.

If you read in the start of this post I Never Did And I Never will It is Shooting an animial Not Hunting an animial, If you are in that much in need of food do as you please. Adios Amigos .
-
And An ECON officer will give you a lot of greif if caught. As I said in the beginning shooting an animal over Bait is Shooting Not Hunting. You young fellows should just learn how to hunt, you just might enjoy it.
