"Not as good as usual" MANY MANY bad words of jealousy jumped to my mind looking at your pic as my collection grew only by 1 dead head (only one sided at that!) this year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My boys just turned 12 and received their "welcome" packet from the state. I bought theirs right before the price increase AND when they were still 3 so I think I paid $300 per kid. One is more interested than the other (twins) so getting them to BOTH do the pre-work and the safety course is my first challenge. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Is this for real?

Dumbing down the test to make certain there is a racial balance of educators seems ridiculous. Yet another nail in the coffin of public perception about teachers. That public perception is partly why more qualified college students steer clear of education. If applicants cannot pass the test, they should not teach. If teachers do a poor job during their first 3-4 years, they should not be tenured. If tenured teachers perform poorly, THEIR ADMINISTRATORS should revoke their tenure through the process negotiated by them and the union. Tenure is not a license to be a $hitty teacher. The process to remove a tenured teacher needs to be revamped but it exists. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Now I feel guilty. CLOSED again! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

A whole bunch of districts(including the one I live in) just closed- mostly as a result of tight streets and buses. My district has no buses so I will just be satisfied with the delay. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

AND a two hour delay for tomorrow already called! Damn I got a lot done today. All my summer camp registrations mailings are done, paleo and fish(subbed out the chicken and sausage for Lent) jambalaya made for the week, laundry caught up, graded a few sections of essays, cars and driveway dig out...I could get used to this "retirement" life! Thanks everyone. Took a quick walk in the woods to see if I could find a birthday shed. Found a bunch of bucks still packing and this dead one with half rack still present. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

This guy is still packing, 1/2 his rack at least Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Beautiful pheasant hunt in Ireland

Quite the scenery for a pheasant hunt. I would hate to be the dog having to do those retrieves. Those birds must have been tenderized after that drop! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I was on First week September bear hunt in Maine. Cool experience but the bugs were a presence. Never saw a bear but heard lots of noise when it got dark and was waiting for the guide. One night I had to wait 45 minutes after dark since my buddy connected. Whole bunch of $hit goes through the mind in those dark minutes! Our guide was against the thermacells- felt it gave too much of a scent- full bug jacket and head gear- bastards bit right through most clothing. Just saw a guy on life below zero make a bug suit out of high thread count bed sheets- swore skeeters couldn't bite through Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I am not bitching(too much). Wouldn't change anything - I don't think my ADD would allow me to do the same singular thing for my whole life. Hell with teaching I get a new crop of kids to deal with every 45 minutes and a whole new batch every year. Allows me to do lots of different interests Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I, too, wish I had the summers off to golf and fish. The thought that a teacher (as the primary bread winner for the family) can take off the summer is ludicrous. For me to support a family of five (and maybe stupidly live in westchester) I NEED to teach, coach 2 seasons(quit football due to hunting and needing some summer break), tutor 3 hours a week, and run a summer camp. That's not counting all the little odds and ends jobs I pick up through the school year. For that I have a modest house, "happy" kids, and one real family vacation a year....if travel baseball and my daughter's NYC performances don't get in the way. Ahhh the EASY STREET life of a teacher! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Fired eggs over cheesy grits drizzled with truffle oil! That should be enough to get me through these folders of essays. Hope my kids did better than I did in my OP-good catch Eddie! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

No one can be bored today- it is a lost skill of being able to entertain ourselves without a device of some kind. The lack of connectivity to people has been lost with all this connection to devices. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

SNOW DAY! I know I am opening up myself up to all that crap about unions, tenure, retirement, summers off, yadda, yadda , yadda! However, teaching still offers that one opportunity to turn me back into the a school kid finding out we have been blessed with an unexpected day off! Be saw out there if you are working tomorrow-I will be home (grading papers) but in my pjs at least!

You think that's just matted hair or a poorly placed shot through the "no mans land?" Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That land is terrible!!! You should pay me to look over it! However, I will volunteer my services for solitary access![emoji6][emoji6][emoji6] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Did you follow a recipe regarding spices? If so, can you share??? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Restaurant Depot near me has a liquor department and was carrying something called war eagle. Used to buy it case the 12 bottle case for $120. Guy told me it was made by same distributor as Makers. When bourbons started to gain in popularity, they stopped packaging it that way. Crushed me! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Very happy with the above recipe. I passed on the noodles and just mashed the dumplings in the thin broth- real good. Not overly different than chicken noodle with a little extra enjoyable gaminess(richer flavor) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Oh boy...I shouldn't be here-I'm on day 25 of a self imposed "drying out" period. what put me here is any variety of whiskey and bourbon-basil Hayden is one of my favorites but pricey. Woodford reserve right up there. For everyday snorts-Elijah Craig is reasonably priced and more drinkable that Jack Evans(still enjoyable in a pinch). Good times! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
