Can I borrow that fisher for my 3s spot- i need some tree rats gone. Hopefully he likes chipmunks too- I'd fatten that fisher up good in one day!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Can't wait for the pics Growie...hey Biz-No "PERFECT DAY/CONDITIONS" post tomorrow- stick to the objective info and good things will happen- get it done- I hope to jump back in 3s after "Teacher Detention" aka conference day tomorrow for the last 90 minutes- daylight savings is killing my hunting opportunities Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Evan Williams for the "every day" with a cube. Basil Hayden is one of my all-time favorites. Restaurant Depot liquor department used to carry a bottled called War Eagle which I think was made by Buff Trace- buy a case and it was $10 a bottle. Best cheapest ever but no longer available. Elijah Craig is good too and reasonably priced.four roses decent and cheap...whistling pig and the bullies are a good "special treat" bottle. The better the bottle the smaller the cube Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

STOP SAYING PERFECT DAY!!!! The deer gods are getting pissed ! I'm not even out there today (jealous!) but feel badly for those who've been GOOCHED by the predictions of perfection. Knock em down - keep us less fortunate posted Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Ton of fisher sighting reports this year compared to previous seasons - cool. to clarify the 3s (westchester) tags- our "regular" season runs from 10/1-12/31. Since no gun allowed bow is the weapon of choice for our "buck tag" which also makes the either sex tag a buck tag if you so choose which you should since doe tags are unlimited for 3s. Tagging out in westchester is impossible!!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Haha-fortunately I have the ability to read texts and posts like a normal person(only mild irritation - unless growie is typing!!). When the essays come in it's a whole new game- most papers look like a 2" rage been there!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My buddy's shit on a nice 8 this year- hope it posts this time Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Those shots on the video really seem to be playing a dangerously close game with that front shoulder- I think I like my chance better back in off the front should and blowing out both lungs- too afraid of shoulder shots stopping the penetration and preventing a pass through. Great shots non the less Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Always a few peanut chews in the bottom of the pack- if bring in lunch either a potato and egg sandwich with some Frank's or one of those venison empanadas I whip up at the start of the season- water if I remember Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Public Middle school (6th grade)English teacher for the past 17 years-real jealous of PE teachers when essays come rolling in to grade) 4 more prior years at private Jesuit school in the Bronx. Coach girls basketball and varsity golf for the school (dropped football when started bowhunting)tutor a few hours a week, and run a summer camp for a westchester country club...8:00-3:00 and summers off have never been my definition of a teacher (especially one whose wife works for the church...aka charity!) Feels a little more like hunting season today 3s for me hoping that Biz didn't put the gooch on us with his predictions!!! Moved two family groups on the way in hopefully towards the area I am set in. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Tommy 9-5 (aka Biz) is on fire today-I thought you were tagged out after opening day?!?? Made me laugh today but the 4 hole comment might be my favorite- sorry for encouraging him!!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Pulled a small doe out tonight serving a duo purpose- tender meat albeit not much of it and a happy land owner who wants all deer gone Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Back in 3s for yet another warm evening...going with the bright shiny asics tonight (doused in scent killer and Evercalm)since the boots are sitting on the front door step - not as bad as Biz's pink socks but trying Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Lets call it Yorktown just to F with you! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sorry Biz...my buddy took this guy from 3S today - from THE SAME tree I took the doe from last night. He fed for 30 min directly under his tree and finally walked to 10 yards gave a slight turn and he got stuck - steep angle left lung and heart. - no pass through(stopped by heart!). He has the pic of the heart shot- pretty good! Evercalm may be(okay IS) the real deal. He had two does feeding all evening with a pretty swirly wind- left them as "bait" and it paid off. Posted first at Northern West ER last night before being transferred to West Med Center with my kid who busted his fibula and tibia at football. Changed location to Hosp for Spec Surgery in NYC waiting for orthopedist to look at X-ray...again. Full leg cast for now...surgery maybe? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Careful changing the blades of the havalons...somehow my buddy did this to his finger, prepping for his first hunt of the year. Can't post the pic- pretty healthy gash in his left index finger Sent from my iPhone using Tap

Had a doe fawn and an odd looking buck come through at first light in 3s today- would have loved to take the doe but they busted out of there like their hair was on fire? Another down stayed back where they came from (wind was not favorable). Later I had a tall 3 point come in from a different direction. He hung around for an hour- when he would start walking away I would rattle a bit and he would come charging back - probably would have let him walk even if he gave me a shot....may as well head back in the for HOT evening Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I use this combo of seasoning: http://www.geniuskitchen.com/recipe/venison-breakfast-sausage-337976 However I drop the amount of pork to 2 lbs and just use the fat-not ground pork I form the ground mixture into 2oz patties and freeze- pull out what I what and fry-usually break up the party and crack some eggs over the top Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Bill Heavey (from the back page of field and stream) has all of his articles in a book called "if you didn't bring the jerky, what did I just eat" humorous and self-effacing short stories. Quite entertaining. You have identified a bunch of my recommended reading list for my 6th grade students with my side of the mountain, call of the wild, red fern, etc- throw in old man and the sea and any of Gary Paulsen and you round out my go to collection- red pony is good too Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
-
I also made my favorite hunting snack for the season finally-venison empanadas They stay parked in the freezer until a morning hunt and get crushed back at the car after a morning sit-sunlight usually warns them just enough! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Last night's dinner I whipped up for the Mrs's birthday-braised beef short ribs over mushroom risotto Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
