    So I cooked up the chicken I showed the other day and was not impressed - maybe they were passed their prime but the mushroom flavor was weak and I was a bit put off by the "dry chicken breast" texture.     First time this year back in a 3s spot a good ways up a hill where I typically see deer. Needed a light as a reminder and eye-shined a few on the way in. After set up had a big mass walk through before ambient light so i have no idea what is was. I was feelings by real good about today but just had a wave of pessimism sweep through.     Had a scrub 4 or come in as well tonight in 3s. He was supposed to cross the little creek in one spot and decided to bushwhack a new trail. Dummy! Circled right behind me and through some thick cover. Why not just walk the trail for me!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Had some action right at last light today in 3s. I couldn't quite make out what they were but there were 3 large bodies moving into a field 60 yards away. Hit the bleat and they wanted nothing to do with it. All of a sudden to my left a small doe starts crashing though some thick brush seemingly heading to the bleat. She hangs up in a lane I cannot shoot and now it's too dark anyway. As I wait for her to leave three large bodied does walk right in, turn broadside and ultimately flip me the bird since it's too dark. Glad I went to regardless of what the weatherman said!     I normally hunt tight woods with 20 yard shots being about the max. However I recently sat on a field edge and found judging distance was much more difficult without having any other things to judge against. I have a rangefinder and was guesstimating yardage to random places and was short more than long. Strange but a good lesson for hunting fields for me Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
