  1. Absolutely. If you think anyone on either side of any issue would be as passionate if there wasn't some financial incentive in it for them, than some of you live in LALA land. That's the main reason NOTHING ever gets resolved in this country. How would special interest groups, politicians, spokespeople, etc. on any side of any issue continue making money if somehow the issue actually got resolved?? Stop and think about it for a second or two. Big money corrupts everything.
  2. Actually I DON'T agree with his stances entirely. There are lies and half-truths from both sides, but I surely have better things to do than to discuss it with you Nugent lovers. LOL And YES, he is just above a barbarian in my view. Maybe not even a WHOLE step above. The freak feels the need to howl like a wolf after his kills, so what else should I call him? If he'd do such a howl in some true wilderness area after a kill, maybe I'd give him the benefit of the doubt, but the last time he killed anything outside a fenced in pen was probably decades ago. You'd bet wrong if you think most gun owners like him. This is a small sample here on this forum, and I know for a fact there are quite a few that have no use for him.
  3. My goodness you people are so sensitive! In general, I would agree that it's best not to mess up a muzzle, but at the same time I don't think most accuracy problems are due to damage to the muzzle. Most of these rifles probably didn't shoot well to begin with, so people look for reasons as to why and may point the blame on a nick to the muzzle when the rifle probably just had a lousy barrel to begin with. Lots of hunters don't baby their rifles, and many wear plenty of scars all over, yet the guns continue to put game down. I highly doubt that the little loss of accuracy due to these scars will cause a good shot and hunter to not bring home his deer. Just my .02 on this matter.
  4. He just debates other IDIOTS, so he probably doesn't look too bad compared to them. LOL If he has ever converted someone who was anti-gun/hunting or even on the fence about it to our side, I'd really love to hear from that person. I would say he impresses mighty few people out there. Hell, many of us hunters and gun owners don't think much of him, so I can't imagine he impresses too many others. The guy looks like he is one step above barbarian, so if you think that will put gun owners/hunters in a more positive light amongst the public, you can believe what you want.
  5. I sure don't think Obama is God, yet I still think Nugent is an idiot.
  6. So now we know! We've had Four Seasons Whitetail and some other members here telling us how great the hunting is down in those gorges at Letchworth. Those guys probably go down there and pick up all the casualties. And there they were trying to BS us with stories that they actually shot those deer themselves! LOL
  7. I have one rifle that I inherited from an uncle that has a muzzle looking like someone put a file to it. It's a bolt action, but he used to clean it with a cheap aluminum rod from the muzzle. The gun can still shoot pretty close to 1 MOA on a bad day, so I'll never be convinced that a chewed up muzzle will always mean an inaccurate rifle. How about muzzleloaders? We slam and pound the slugs in thru the front and yet most are no worse for wear.
  8. I think it would be absolutely ridiculous to put anymore money into this rifle attempting to make it a better shooter. As others have said, these Remington's have never set the world on fire with accuracy so why spend more money? At this point it would probably be cheaper just to sell this rifle as is, and then buy another used Remington semi-auto and take your chances with another one, if you really want one that bad. Not like there's a shortage of them out there to buy used at a reasonable price.
  9. A 3 MOA rifle in the hands of a decent shot and good hunter will put way MORE deer down than that expensive and fancy 1 MOA gun in the hands of someone who can only shoot from the bench and has lousy hunting skills.
  10. If you were to go into Victoria Secrets with speedo's OR buck naked, they'd call security in no time flat. The young ladies who fit into Victoria Secret garments don't need to be exposed to such horrors. LOL
  11. I agree with everyone's comments. Why do these people have the need to act in such a way? Some come up with the excuse that it's their constitutional right and they just want to exercise it, which in my opinion is total BS. In a civilized society which I hope ours is, you don't have anyone off the street coming into a department store with a rifle slung over their shoulders. This is simply not acceptable behavior, just as it wouldn't be if you walked into the store buck naked. Behavior such as this will do absolutely nothing to enhance the image of gun owners as responsible citizens.
  12. People have the right to hunt where it's legal, while others have the right not to like it. There are two points of view on every topic. If this young lady didn't post up these hunting pictures on facebook for the world to see, she never would have had a problem. Posting pictures and opinions on topics that might be controversial in today's world is bound to get you into a messy situation.
  13. Honestly, if anyone is an idiot around here, it's YOU. All you do is bitch and moan about the government being your enemy. Get over it already. In a system like ours, with a two party system, (or any other for that matter) sooner or later the other party will be in power, and they may look at things differently than you do. Get used to it. There would be no need for elections at all if everyone thought the same way, and if everyone trusted one party only. That's not the way it is, however, (and never was) so GET USED TO IT ALREADY. If you can't, then you need to take the advice I gave you last time and look for an island to purchase in the south pacific somewhere that has not been claimed by any other nation, that already has a form of government in place. Good luck with your search. That may be your only escape from your misery. The rest of us will continue on with life and not let politics consume us into a state of paranoia.
  14. When you send some beer over, like Denver Jones at the rod & gun club. LOL
  15. Oh man, this is hilarious!! It just has to be one of the forum members here! LOL Did you notice the beer bottles by the window behind him in the first video?? A rod and gun club with beer bottles all over the place! That image will sure get everyone to support our cause and get Cuomo kicked out!! LOL The guys on this forum will be behind everything this Jones guy says and does like flies on you know what. I'm sure he'll get more support from the people around here than you are getting for your dove hunting and swan petitions. LOL
  16. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?Ntt=Trail+camera&N=0&InitialSearch=yes&sts=ma&Top+Nav-Search= Biggest camera & photo supplies store on the planet.
  17. Yeah, the same guy around here who is telling people to "grow a pair" and says that he will "NEVER comply" is the same guy who wants to leave the state, if he hasn't already. So yeah, he tucked his tail between his legs and is running, while he tells everyone else to start a revolt and risk everything they've got. LOL I guess that really takes a pair of balls!
  18. Yeah, I bet with a couple of squirts to Pygmy and Ants eyes, they'd both be rendered useless where you'd simply clonk their heads together and they'd both fall into the tub on top of each other. LOL Pygmy wouldn't have time to get his gun out of his purse, or ants draw his quickly enough after admiring his pistol(s) in the mirror. LOL
  19. Why do you think anyone was addressing you in particular?? If the shoe fits, you can wear it, however.
  20. Wooly brings up a great point. Hell, some of you are Mr. Tough guys and want to even take on the government. Many of you have a side-arm strapped on, even when you are sitting on the can, yet you're afraid of some liberal vegan space cadets who are sending you death threats via emails while they are petting their pussycats?? That's quite funny actually! LOL
  21. Who would pay $2.2 million dollars for 1200 acres of land in the Adirondacks, when you have all that state land for FREE?? There are no doe tags available up there, plus you could find a heck of a lot more deer in other areas of the state. I think it would be a terrible deal anyway you look at it. If you want to hunt or vacation up there, buy a small chunk of land to build a cabin or something and you still got thousands of acres to roam and get lost in for FREE!
  22. +100. There are ramification to posting stuff on the internet. Doing it anonymously is one thing, but if you attach your name and residence to what you post, it can come back to haunt you in ways you never dreamed of.
  23. No, I would not agree that they are one and the same. Early had his quirks, but he was no conspiracy theorist.
  24. Actually, I'd be grateful if more USDA inspectors were armed. Maybe they would have shot and killed the bastards who sold VJP and Papist that mad-cow disease tainted meat they both ate. We would have been spared the insanity. LOL
