  1. I really think people are jumping to conclusions here. I honestly can't see how a store wanting to see some proof of ownership of a gun in the caliber you are buying ammo for as being part of this law. How will ANY long gun owner, other than one who has an AR rifle registration card be able to buy ammo then? Only NYC has long guns registered, everywhere else in the state long guns aren't registered. For this reason alone, I can see this law being thrown out in any court that takes 5 minutes to analyze what is transpiring here. It just proves that this law was put into effect without a minutes thought. How in hell can gun owners be denied the purchase of ammo, when there is no state database of who owns what gun in what caliber?? How can it be verified? If the proof of ownership is indeed part of this law, then get this to the courts and it will get thrown out for sure. For unenforceability if for nothing else.
  2. That is why I think it should be priority to put this thru the courts as quickly as possible. Putting ALL efforts on spanking the NYS politicians who voted for it won't get this law repealed in the short term if ever.
  3. Since AR's are the only long guns required to be registered, what will all other long gun owners show as proof of owning a gun in the caliber they wish to purchase ammo in?? I can't think of anything that will suffice? And how will all this impact hunting in general when someone would have trouble purchasing a popular deer cartridge like the . 308? I think the impact would be huge and would have a detrimental effect on sales of hunting licenses and money usually talks. This is where I can see this ammo part of the SAFE act getting thrown out. And when I say thrown out, I mean in the courts. I wouldn't expect any NYS politician, present or future to have enough brains to know what's actually happening here, so in my opinion those who think that electing in new politicians might somehow get this SAFE act repealed are barking up the wrong tree. The ONLY way the ammo part, or any part of the SAFE act gets scrapped is if Scalia and co. on the Supreme Court get a chance to rule on it. They are the only ones with any reasoning abilities to see how ridiculous and unenforceable a law such as this ammo law is. If New York gun owners want this part or any part of the SAFE act repealed that is where most of the effort should be. Get people to take this crap to court. Bring up cases from all sorts of infringement angles and hopefully one can make its way to the Supreme court, where I have NO doubt that Scalia would love to write the majority decision shooting down his liberal paesano's (Cuomo) gun law.
  4. They should have Trump debate the other candidate outdoors on a windy day. His hair would get into his opponents eyes while standing 10 feet away. LOL
  5. You're right they were republicans. Very liberal ones too. A very conservative one would never have been elected even 40-50 years ago in this state. So you think if NYS votes in a middle of the road republican as governor, which is the best case scenario, they would repeal the Safe Act? I don't think there's a chance in the world in that happening. The only way it will ever get repealed is if the supreme court would somehow strike it down. Come on guys, let's get realistic here.
  6. People shouldn't underestimate the population numbers downstate. Not everyone may vote, but there are still more than enough that do. Every NY gun owner could vote against Cuomo and he'd still win. Honestly gun owners could never oust him on their own, so you guys better get used to this fact. The only way he could lose is if he pisses off a good percentage of democrats in the state for various other reasons. So far he hasn't done that.
  7. I for one would take Christie over Cuomo any day of the week. At least he tells you what he thinks and doesn't pull new laws on people under the cover of darkness like Cuomo. The media is all over Christie because every liberal minded person knows that if he were to be the republican nominee for president, he would sweep the floor with any democrat that they might put up against him. Plenty of democrats who don't want another Obama in office next time that would vote for a guy like Christie, and who would staunch conservatives who love to bitch about Christie vote for if Christie was up against any democrat?? Surely not the democrat. He would win by a landslide for sure. Don't know how this scandal will end up hurting him, but the democrats and liberal media surely won't let up on him because if they put him down for the count, they have put their biggest(no pun intended) challenger out of the picture.
  8. I could honestly care less about crossbows. Wouldn't matter to me if they were made legal, or if they remained illegal. What I DO know is that I won't be thanking Cuomo, or any politician for that matter for anything pertaining to the crossbow issue. This will just give them extra incentive to tell everyone that guns are not needed for hunting anymore either. Hell, they are giving us crossbows now, along with regular bows, so for what reasons do hunters really need guns or a reason to buy ammo? No freaking way am I thanking any of these bastards for anything. This crossbow organization who wants us to send thanks should be condemned for even suggesting it in my opinion. They are obviously in Cuomo's pocket somehow.
  9. Animal abuse?? My God, why do you people hunt at all if you are so afraid to see a deer suffer for a few seconds?? Some of you need to stop pretending to be hunters and take up a less violent pastime like tiddlywinks or something.
  10. Yes, as long as it was legal, I see nothing wrong here either. I think some of the posters here have not shot too many deer to consider his shooting "sloppy". It would be nice if they all just gently lied down and rolled over dead without a twitch, but that's not how it always happens. Anyone who has hunted long enough realizes this.
  11. You made good points in both posts. Of course there are other LI hunters as we saw on the cull thread that think LI hunters should be viewed as heroes for all they've done for the hunters image and population control.
  12. What the hell else do you want me to tell you? Did I call in the freakin sharpshooters?? Did you do your part in culling the herd out there?? Some of us are trying to give you the reality of things out there, and you take it as a personal insult, because you think you are right and everyone else is wrong. That's your problem and not mine. Think whatever the hell you want and you can continue to go bonkers over this until the cows come home. We shall see shortly whose opinions will come to fruition here.
  13. Just wow!!! You need to take your medication now, that's for darned sure. 1000 word essay of pure BS.
  14. That's exactly where I was hoping you'd be. LOL
  15. Oh, I know what you meant. You shouldn't assume to know what others meant, however.
  16. And why are you so sure it was Louisiana?? Then again I shouldn't ask since you are the smart one. LOL I heard SteveA went to Mississippi. Your guess is as good as mine as to what he's doing for Robertson in Mississippi. Maybe he makes decoys for him and then sends them to him, or commutes back and forth for work, who knows?
  17. He got fired from his job in Poughkeepsie for making insensitive remarks about gays. Last I heard he moved to Mississippi and I think he's working for that Phil Robertson guy from Duck Dynasty.
  18. LOL!! Like any one of us here didn't already realize that you think you're better than everyone. LOL
  19. The thread honestly should end with the statement above. Any one of us could be fired for saying something the boss don't like, be it at work, or outside of work. NO way is this a freedom of speech issue. You open your mouth in the wrong way with your employer and you can be gone. The constitution or freedom of speech won't save you. Sorry.
  20. I've been meaning to change my name to fawn killer just to a rile up a few around here. LOL
  21. What color are you, pink? Let's see now, I have been a member since July 2010 and you joined November 2012 and you already have more posts than me. In that span you've bitched about every topic under the sun DAILY, and you are calling me crotchety? You're a clown and that's pretty much it!
  22. Why is it that one can pretty much say anything they please against christianity and get away with it, while you get totally condemned if you say anything about gays?? There are more christians in this country than gays, right?? Why don't they get flack for being anti-christian?? You may work in finance, but you obviously don't get it.
  23. You are clueless, so I won't try explaining anything to you.
  24. I'm going to be very blunt here, but people need to understand this. The media and entertainment industry is and has been for a LONG time run by jews and gays, who like to give blacks preferential treatment. If you say or do ANYTHING against these three groups you will be dead meat. Anyone entering this industry needs to know this, because you most certainly will NOT get away easy making any sort of comment against them that they don't like. There you have it. I am surely NOT saying that this is right, but that's the way it has been for a LONG time and will not be getting better any time soon.
